  1. Most of you probably know this but he is Tee's cousin and they have said they want to play college football together. I really like the film on this kid.
  2. Agree completely. ND will benefit from THE issues but Dunn appears to be more suited for a different type of offense than ND's.
  3. Jarron Jones is a beast. The kid has enormous potential. One of my favorite recruits in this class. As Calves previously stated, he's a high risk and high return kinda guy. His ceiling is enormous. With the depth we now have on the DL, he is absolutely the kinda recruit to bring in with this class. I gotta say, the soft verbal thing annoys me. I know these kids are 17/18 but commit or don't commit. Enough of the gray area.
  4. Personally, I think the height argument toward RB's height is foolish. Who cares how tall he is, that's meaningless. I really liked Walton's film and he has a very good build. IMO, built with the thickness of a running back. I would love to see a combo of him and Marshall.
  5. We recruited Tony Moeaki very heavily. As we did his teammate, OL Dan Doering, but both went to Iowa.
  6. I'll indications point to ND going after their top 3-4 TE recruits and that's it until the next recruiting class for TE's. The TE from Florida, Kent Taylor, really likes ND quite a bit. It appears that he is the top TE on ND's board.
  7. Good to see UM fill up recruiting numbers with guys we were not recruiting. Keep it up, I like to see it.
  8. Slaughter seems to be getting discounted by some. With our lack of depth at DB, Slaughter will absolutely be offered a 5th year. Especially for a kid that plays free safety and can play corner. Beyond the top 5 mentioned (KLM, Cwynar, Slaughter, Crist, Cave) everyone else is dependent upon who we bring in for this 2012 class. Unless he breaks out this year, I do not see Dan McCarthy invited back. Injuries have taken it's toll. I've never seen a defensive player wear a red jersey.
  9. Treggs is saying he won't make announcement until his season and he takes officials. We'll see.
  10. I'm all for it. I completely support bringing in a LS in this class. People can be as negative as they want "wasting" a scholarship on a long snapper but one bad snap on a punt or FG could cost us a game, easily. This is a scholarship that I feel was necessary. The staff wanted one last year but did not have room so they managed to wait a year and get an even better one. We only have one currently on scholarship and Jordan Cowart will be a senior when Daly is a freshman. The staff has secured all aspects of our special teams and I am very glad they are doing that.
  11. We could easily land WR Justin Ferguson soon.
  12. He is impressive. Definitely one of my favorite WR's in this class.
  13. Kiel did not make it cuz weather but Mauk is not coming cuz basketball.
  14. Decker has basketball tournament and will not be attending.
  15. I'm going with OL Callahan, if he lands the offer. The kids coming from Colorado to South Bend in February on his own dime and seems to love the idea of coming to ND. I like the Baratti call. I don't see Diamond committing to ND anytime soon. At this point, I wouldn't even call us the favorite. I think that honor would go to Michigan. Voltz would be a phenomenal commit at any point, but especially impressive if he becomes the first on board. If Decker is visiting he would go to the top of my list but I am pretty sure that he is not visiting this weekend.
  16. Hawaii, don't pull your oars into the boat yet. It's not done yet, but close. A ton of stupid rumors out there but a few have shown to be more than rumors. Here is my thoughts on the remaining questions: 1. Tuitt is 95% Irish. 2. Okotcha is easily the biggest question mark of our commits. I expect the Okotcha-McDaniel friendship to win out. 3. Niklas appears to be a ND lean but in reality that is not based on much, if anything. 4. Prestwood is not over. It is much quieter on that front but that does not mean that anything has changed since it broke. We are better off having this quiet right now. 5. Pure speculation on my part but I am guessing that if we lost someone or did not land Niklas than a door could possibly open up for Haynes. Again, I am purely speculating. Other than that I see a smooth ride into Wednesday, excluding what Mother Nature has in store for us here in the Midwest. Let's hope the fax machines are still buzzing in the blizzard.
  17. That's not entirely fair. Who's to say that one brother didn't want to have to compete against the other, because of their brotherly connection. Just saying.
  18. Chiro, I do not know for sure on Crow. My guess is that the current staff is not offering Crow. Other than that I will PM you.
  19. I correct your correction: Pete Sampson of II clearly stated in his chat last night that Tuitt is far from over. I will find the exact words if you would like. Thanks for thinking that I simply took that info from a poster on a site. I think he stays with ND but it is NOT over. Mods feel free to erase this since it is from a pay site. I just had to respond to an inaccurate correction.
  20. You are right Rocket but there is a reason that none of the staffs at the pay sites have said a word about Prestwood this week.
  21. There is no set number on the amount of scholarships left. It depends on 5th years, transfers and what 2011 recruits want in (meaning you always have a spot for Huggins but not always for Haynes). The 5th years are the most flexible which is why the ND staff has yet to announce what 5th years will be brought back. For example, I would like to have Romine and Nuss back. But I would not take them back at the expense of Niklas and/or Prestwood. IMO, we have 3 guys still in play. We have Niklas, Prestwood and Huggins (first 2 being most realistic). I believe that the ND staff would accept all 3 if they choose ND. You find spots for that type of talent.
  22. Both Prestwood and Niklas are bigtime talents. IMO, you take them both and say goodbye to a 5th year. I love Joe Montana but there is no way his son deserves a scholarship for this upcoming year. The only possible reason is simply respect for Joe Montana. I am not going to try to speculate who but I think we will have 1-2 transfers.
