  1. I think Book has a hard time seeing open receivers because he is short and can't see effectively over the linemen. Why can"t he roll out more on a designed pass play and open up his throwing lanes to his receivers? Seems like it should be a quick fix to this type of an issue.
  2. Very proud of our Team! We listened all week to how we were going to get "punched in the mouth" by Georgia, and we were 2 touchdown underdogs. Guess what, we matched their punches and they had to give everything they had to beat us. We belong in the conversation of top teams for this year. And to come close in the fan driven atmosphere that we played in Athens was even more astounding. Most of the world didn't think we had a chance in this game. We proved them wrong and even though it was a loss, it was a win in the perception of our program by the media, and the world. Keep winning and get healthy, ND, and we still have a chance!
  3. Beat Michigan, USC, and Stanford will always make me happy. If we run the table and win out, which I think is very attainable, we still have a chance to a playoff spot. If we don't get in the playoff, we can have a great New Years game with a team we certainly could beat. There is A GREAT DEAL still on the table to play for! And any bowl game that we get, regardless, allows us to have more practices for next years team, for our future. The more the young players can work in our system, the more seasoned they will be for next years roster and next year's games. So, keep winning, Irish!! The future is still there for you to grab!
  4. Nice write up, Hawaii. I am also optimistic about this game. I really believe that we have only seen a very vanilla offense and defense. Kelly kind of indicated that in one of his press conferences, but not directly. Also, I cannot remember the last time we have been SOOO disrespected by the media, going back to the Alabama championship game. They don't think we belong on the same field as them. Every week, teams come and give ND their best, and push us to the limit because no one expects them to win. And yet, they show and compete much closer than expected. On any given week, one team can expectedly beat another. History repeats that over and over, week by week. Why can't we have a week like that? Well, we can! I think we will come in with a chip on our shoulder and play our hearts out. We aren't going to go in there like whipped puppies and just hand them the win. The game still has to be played. A bounce or two that goes in our favor could make the difference! I expect us to play a hard fought game and go toe to toe with Georgia. Whether we win or lose, I know I will be proud of the effort our team will put out! GO IRISH!!
  5. I would just like to see us fire off the line and get some push. When you outweigh the guy in front of you by at least 30 lbs, that's what I would expect. What will happen when you meet a defensive line as big and as fast as your guys are? I guess we will find out next week.
  6. The thing is he waisted time and money for both ND and Florida. The classy move would have been to let the other universities know silently and keep things quiet until he announced. But the thousands of dollars spent to continue to recruit him and the time involved are all wasted resources that could have been used elsewhere. He made it seem like he was still interested, when in reality he knew he was committing to UM. And the fact the Michigan staff and coaches knew all along about this smells like a Harbaugh move. They probably thought it was funny, sticking it to their rival, ND. I didn't think it was possible, but I want to beat Michigan even more now after that classless move.
  7. Replace hockey with football, and Clemson for the Russians. Time to shock the world!
  8. Does ND have exams this week? No. Did they have multiple travel time zones to deal with? No. Are they still banged up? No. Are they rested and focused? Absolutely. I feel really good about this. We are going to shock the world and get another shot at Bama! Nd 35..Clemson 27.
  9. Ok, I have been listening to a few podcasts on different sites, and there was one opinion that was brought up that makes sense to me. In spring ball and fall camp, the focus of our offense was to get Brandon Wimbush better in the passing game, including pass protection. The run game was not the focus. We now have 4 weeks to focus on improving our run game and run blocking. Our pass protection has been working pretty well, so lets give them a chance to work out the bugs. Both teams will be rested and ready to play, and I think we had a lot of room to grow and these 4 weeks will be huge to fix the things that need to be fixed. Book has time to completely heal from the rib injury, and they have time to work on the run blocking. I really believe we will give Clemson all they can handle as they have not played a team as balanced as we are.
  10. Yeah, yeah, they have all these 5 star players. But we have a unified team! I feel really good that we can and will beat Clemson. I just think our team chemistry is so strong that we can overcome any deficit we may have in athletic talent, if there is any. We will be focused on the task. No one believes we can win this game, except our fanbase. We will win, and then on to beat Alabama (Good Lord willing!)!
  11. Couldn't agree more, Faith. I feel we will win, but it could be a real battle!
  12. I know that I should be confident that we dominate USC for our final game. But I have been around too long to know they hate us and will do anything to beat us. For those that think they have nothing to play for, they have 2 big things; one is to become bowl eligible with a win (which is huge for the team), and 2 would be to spoil our chances of getting in the playoff. They will throw everything they have at us, you can count on it! They have athletes that match up with ours. The thing that makes me believe we will win is we are deeper in depth, our efficiency, our defense is really good, and these guys play together as a team, not as a bunch of star players thrown together. For that reason, I believe we will win. But I don't think it will be easy. Hope I'm wrong, because I'd love to steamroll the University of Spoiled Children again, like we did last year. I just think they will come out with an all or nothing attitude because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We will see next Saturday night.
  13. I literally have had dreams of getting into the playoff, beating Clemson, and having a rematch with Bama. I really believe we will be much better prepared than 2012. Kelly knows what to expect now, he was not as prepared the first time around. So I would expect us to be hungry, and come out with the "dominate" attitude. And the final part of my dream mirrors the U.S. hockey team beating Russia; Do You Believe In Miracles?! It can happen! We play Bama 10 times, they might beat us 9 of them, but not that night! This is my dream, and I can die a happy man knowing that we defeated the unbeatable team and I won't have to hear "Roll Tide" and cringe. GO IRISH!! We have to beat Cuse and USC first to make this possible, but it's within reach.
  14. I am sure they will change the offense to play to BW's strengths. And he has enough strengths to win. I think you are right on point, Frankus!
