  1. Nowhere did I say they were settling for scraps. Way to put words in mouth there. By definition they didn’t get their first choice and are on to the second list. It’s not my fault you don’t have reading comprehension skills. A. Freeman’s first choice was Heacock B. Heacock was offered the position C. Heacock requested certain criteria in order to take the position D. ND said no to those requests E. Heacock turned down the offer F. Freeman is now looking for another DC which would be his second choice Are you trying to say that is not the list of events that happened? Are you trying to say Heacock was not Freeman’s first choice? Are you trying to say the position was never his to accept?
  2. Where are you getting the information he was not offered? Not coming from the administration because they haven’t said anything and all the ND insiders have said he was offered.
  3. Tim Prister, Matt Fortuna, Tim O’Malley, Pete Sampson all said he was offered the position and turned it down. More than that but I can’t remember everyone. I’ll take their word for it.
  4. “Elston owes Michigan nothing if "Jim Harbaugh is no longer the head football coach." “ Why would Elston owe Michigan anything anyways if Harbaugh left or is that supposed to say Michigan wouldn’t owe Elston anything? That would be a horrible contract for Elston if so.
  5. Never was pessimistic, but thanks for playing. Fact ND offered him the job. That is what was reported by all the Irish media. Fact he turned down the job. You can frame it however you like. Thats what happened. nothing pessimistic about it. All the coaches that had been mentioned as interviewing dropped and now Freeman is going on with the second options search. Hence why no coaches that were originally mentioned are mentioned any longer that would be considered the second options. You can frame it how ever you want. Everything I mentioned was facts as reported by people that have more connections to ND than you. Please show me where I am pessimistic. I will wait.
  6. All the payments currently are outside the university. The universities are not paying anything but what they have always provided , room and board, tuition, books, training facilities, athletic apparel. All payments to students are coming from companies and boosters. The schools themselves aren’t paying these kids paychecks and that isn’t being talked about happening by anyone.
  7. You left off the most important reason that Freemans first choice was offered and he turned down the job. ND would have a DC right now if Heacock accepted the position. Since then he had to go to the second tier of options in which Al Golden is the best option now available.
  8. I don’t care about age but I would like someone on staff with head coaching experience to be a sounding board for Freeman.
  9. From those 3 I hope it’s Golden. He has a history of being a strong D Coordinator and has head coaching experience at a P5 school. Not happy it’s the fricking Hurricanes. 😂
  10. If they are getting paid i.e. compensation for playing a sport. Then they aren’t amateurs, they are professionals and deserve more compensation. See the issue is the NCAA and the universities have been try to get the best of both worlds at the expense of the kids. In other words the adults have been taking advantage of the kids. I am glad the kids have finally been given the rights they should have never been denied.
  11. You mean like what coaches and universities (grown adults) have been able to do while forcing kids to a different standard. I did ask for this and I’m all for kids being able to find the best situation for them. In this country there is no loyalty. It’s a me First Nation always has been. So why should kids be held to a different standard especially when they aren’t professionals as people keep wanting to point out. They aren’t getting paid by the universities why shouldn’t they be able to transfer all other students can do it. I agree it’s a societal problem but America has always been like that and unless the people that make up the society finally agree to change it will always be like that and kids shouldn’t be held to a different standard then the adults that oversee them.
  12. I definitely think he has the skills to start but will he be able to transition to college and everything that goes with it. As far ball skills I think he could be the next Floyd or Fuller
  13. Anybody else not able to play these? It always says live broadcast like I missed it or something and I just get the spinning white circle
  14. I don’t think anyone is over looking that as it was impressive. I just think he is pointing out that Georgia won without a dynamic QB. Specifically that you said they could not win with Bennet and they did no matter how everything else played out they won with Bennet.
  15. I hope it’s enough to keep him. Man he is a huge piece of the 23’ class. No one is irreplaceable but he’s got the skills to be a great one.
  16. https://tdalabamamag.com/2022/01/16/5-star-de-keon-keeley-gets-offer-from-alabama-schedules-visit
  17. Keon Keeley has received an offer from Alabama and has set up a visit. Hopefully he likes the Washington hire.
  18. No one’s being pessimistic. It was reported by multiple people that he was offered the DC position and your naive if you don’t think the other candidates agents didn’t inform their clients of this. How do you think reporters and message boards found out? It wasn’t just based on baseless rumors. Multiple reliable sources reported on it. Realism based on the facts is not pessimism. No where do I act like freeman sucks or ND f—-ed everything up. I simply said it was a bad day. Thats what it was. You all are making my remarks out to be so much more then they are. So with that I’m done with this. I look forward to finding out who the new DC is and that we find soon as I like resolution. Beyond that the offensive hires appear to be completed and all seem to be extremely solid hires.
  19. I haven’t seen anyone anywhere near a ledge. The fact is he was offered the position and turned it down. We are now onto the second tier of choices. Every coach that interviewed already knows that Heacock was offered the position and chosen over them. That means ND is onto their second choices now. Add in that they lost Elston and it was a bad day for ND. That’s it again nothing more. Everyone has bad days and Freeman and ND had one. We will see who we get at DC I just don’t believe it will be anyone that was mentioned before with the exception of the possibility of Tressel from Cincinnati. No ledge, no end of the world, just a bad day. It happens. Let’s see who we get. That’s all I want to know.
  20. Offering Heacock and not others and then not landing him and now having to move on to secondary choices is not a good look. That is not negative that is the fact of the situation. ND should have asked what he was looking for before announcing they were offering him the position. If it truly was about him wanting to bring his coaches ND should have known that before offering him the position. Thats why you have negotiations. Also losing Elston on the same day is just not good optics. Not the end of the world or anything and hopefully ND can still find a quality DC but it was a bad day for the Irish and Freeman. Nothing more and nothing less. Is what it is.
  21. Not looking good. I am sure things will work out, but to not beable to get Heacock to leave Iowa State is a pretty sad development.
  22. I know what faith was doing and as always it’s appreciated. I was just stating I’m not a fan of the 3-3-5 and hope that’s not where we are going. With Heacock not coming it might all be moot anyways.
  23. I absolutely despise the 3-3-5. Any team with a decent O-line can shred it when running. I get its good against the spread but so is having fast Line backers. It seems like a gimmick defense for teams that cant get speed at LBs or size along the line. Not a fan if that is where this is going.
