  1. I would love that. Not going to happen but it would be awesome. One last time F__k Elston! He really wasn't that great of a recruiter until Freeman got here. He did a hell of a job developing though.
  2. This f'ing sucks!! Ok I'm over it. Screw Elston he's dead to me. Go flounder at Michigan. ND will bring someone in even better. We got Freeman!!! Elston didn't deserve to be the defensive coordinator.
  3. Maybe the guy has a bigger leg for kickoffs. I don’t know. Just throwing darts at a dart board.
  4. Maybe he wants to join the team to be with another Sneed, lol. That seems like a perfectly rational reason to transfer to another school to me.🤥🤔
  5. I like both hires honestly, I guess we will see about the DC but WR coach seems to be a done deal. They did seem to come out of left field but both seem respected and hungry to succeed. I just really hope the new WR coach can get the kids to perform before their senior year. Our problem wasn't getting talented guys. It was more getting them on the field performing before their final year.
  6. I get that. I am just sick of taking Cincinnati coaches. I want ND to step out of that box.
  7. Derek Mayes was a WR in the 90s. I am guessing you might be thinking of him.
  8. I wouldn't mind Derek Mason from Auburn just because he has head coaching experience at a highly reputable university Vanderbilt and another coaching stint at Stanford. So he has experience dealing with strict administrations and could possibly a good resource to Freeman when it comes to dealing with the intricacies of Notre Dame's situation.
  9. I just really hope its not Mike Tressel. Please look to other schools and coaching trees.
  10. Talent, depth, and competition. I don't think he comes but you dont turn him down if he wanted to.
  11. I already loved the kid now he is by far my favorite recruit. That young fella better come out ballin if he's going to post that. 😀
  12. Skipping it. No interest in watching either team. Will check the score Tuesday morning or here if there is a game chat. If I had to pull for one I guess it would be Georgia because I’m sick of Alabama dominance.
  13. Skill wise I am worried about CB. Numbers/depth wise more concerned about WR. Long term I don’t think we need to worry about either as I believe Freeman will have both stacked in short order.
  14. Now if we can get a solid WR to add a little depth the pieces should be set for next year.
  15. Does Boise State not have boosters? Why would you think that there aren’t people in Idaho that will players to use their NIL? Universities aren’t paying players the boosters are.
  16. I think he is more dynamic than EQ. His size alone is very intriguing. I cant wait to see him competing for 50/50 balls.
  17. I am paying attention and it is exactly what A&M is doing. You just have an issue that the coaches supposedly were directing the boosters as to what players to contact. Which is a very minor detail if accurate because all they have to do is go to any major recruiting source and you can identify the major targets of every school. I am very chill by the way. I am not getting worked up about this at all. Last I was asking because it seems to be very upsetting to you and you have not been able to let it go for a few days. I was trying to figure out if this was going to be an Elder/Angelli situation. lol
  18. I do believe you will see ND boosters do exactly that. Especially the ones that are frustrated with how the administration has ham strung the athletics department. If a kid can get into ND and succeed on both the field and in the classroom ND should not be losing that kid due to lack of resources. The only reason ND should lose that kid is because all things equal he did not like ND.
  19. Are you going to do this in every thread? And once again you are conflating the universities endowments and schools paying kids directly, which is not happening at all, with boosters putting together LLCs to pay kids under the rules of NIL. Not to mention boosters have been paying kids for almost as long as the game has existed. Hence why they created rules to try to stop, which failed miserably.
  20. The kid still has to agree to it and sign on as well. A parent can’t just sign a contract without the child’s agreement and signature also. I am guessing you are saying NIL of a high school player not a college player because 90% of college kids are 18 by the time they get to college. Yes both parents would have to sign ,if it is a shared custody situation, and the child would also have to sign. This would all fall under contract laws that already exist. Also you are now talking about high school eligibility which has nothing to do with the NCAA. That would fall under state laws and state sports governance bodies. None of which has anything to do with the NCAA.
  21. No parent can sign a contract on behalf of an 18 year old. The parent can sign what ever they want the kid is not beholden to that. The kid can also sue. As far as a parent in another state trying to sign a contract with a kid living with th other parent that couldn’t happen because the parent the kid lives with has custody. If it’s shared custody both parents have to consent. Last at no time was it against any rules for boosters to contact kids. It was illegal for them to pay them, which still happened all the time.
  22. I’m loving seeing Merriweather showing out at the all star practices. I hope he is going to be as special as I think he can be. I still believe that we needed all 3 but if we were only going to get one he was the one to keep.
  23. This has been mentioned by another poster. You can only transfer once before you have to sit out a year. A university can only bring in so many a players a year, not including the Covid exceptions.
  24. I get your point and I am not a proponent of any ism but actual solutions to solve problems. With that said, and this being a football board, until things change you need to make all the money you can while you can to make sure you can take care of yourself and your loved ones while you can. Thats why I will never begrudge and will actually encourage any kid with god gifted talent to make every cent they can while they have the ability to be a marketable commodity because it can all end tomorrow and its expensive dealing with health costs, raising kids, sustaining housing, securing yourself and your property, and making sure that your loved ones are taken care of.
