  1. Got to agree with Echo about the bots. I’m not a fan and I haven’t notice a single topic of reverence that hadn’t already brought up in a thread already by a member
  2. Anything could happen and McVey does have a ton of respect for Tommy but until there is at least an interview this is much ado about nothing and the media trying to get clicks.
  3. Not a fan of the bots either. Ads are everywhere can’t get away from them.
  4. I don't even care about 5 stars. Just get a top 10 player at their position for every position every year. If they do that with solid coaching they should be in the title game every other year and in the playoffs almost every year. Add a top 3 QB every other year and they should have a championship every couple of years. See its really not that hard. lol Also I think they did really well this recruiting cycle and should be able to add to it in 23
  5. I'm psyched about the LB's but none of them appear to have game ready builds at this point. There is no way Sneed can play LB at 198. He needs at least 20 more pounds or he is going to get trucked by any decent sized RB. I would say he needs another 30 pounds. I guess we will see what Balis can do. Niuafe is the only one close and I would say he needs another 10 - 15 as I am guessing he is going to be taking on lineman and plugging holes. Still psyched for the future but they all need time in the weight room. I really like Angeli, Price, and Ford's size. If Angeli can increase his arm strength he has the body and accuracy to be special no matter what others say.
  6. Here's the rant if you want to watch. He is basically saying the NIL fund everyone was talking about was bs and there is no evidence to back it up. It's a good watch. He kind of loses his point at the end and hurts his own argument.
  7. I had not heard that. Can you elaborate on that or is that all there is to it? I am wondering what their specific responsibilities are. Are they actually working with boosters to put packages together or just putting numbers together to give to recruits basically saying if you play for us you would be in this range for NIL? Any additional info would be appreciated.
  8. Ignore doesn't work when the person is being constantly quoted, responded to, and threads are being dominated with the same conjecture. He is literally bating people into these discussions that are based off of nothing but his own butt hurt ego. People need to stop taking the bate. No matter how many facts people point out he is going to keep A. Shitting on Rees B. Shitting on Freeman C. He's going to keep calling us idiots for just wanting see how things play out D. He is going to keep implying that Kelly was the only choice ND had to be successful and all other candidates are pipe dreams or would be absolute failures. E. Rinse / Repeat STOP TAKING THE BATE
  9. I think he just wanted to screw with all parties involved. I don't think he had any intention of taking the position. He just wanted to see how long he could keep them on the line.
  10. Have you guys not realized he is just shitting on Freeman and Rees because of his love affair for Kelly and the stance he took when others wanted to make a change. His arguments hold no weight and contradict themselves. It’s pointless to try to discuss with him as he will continually use false equivalencies and disingenuous arguments. He has no desire to make coherent arguments. He just doesn’t ever want to admit he was wrong. His ego is to fragile for that.
  11. Playing the weakest schedules in 30 years and still ended up with the most losses in school history. Never once faced a top USC. Got humiliated in Ann Arbor. Your delusional but yes we are all idiots because we are not carrying water for the douchebag that left ND for the SEC by his own choice. Now please come back that he left because he has less restrictions to a national title down there while in your next breath berating the current staff, who chose to stay at ND and not dessert the school, for not bringing in enough top talent given the 23’ cycle just started. You sir have become a parody.
  12. After reading the article it does sound like he is more talking about showing the recruits the life after football you can have by just getting the ND degree and how the alumni network will set you up, but still hope he is also pushing for those same successful alum to cough up that NIL.
  13. Let's make it even better and be what ND supposedly stands for. Dont just pay them for their on field talent, but also try to figure out how to pay them even more if they get the grades too. That would be sweet. Hey we will get you 50,000 just to play, but we will get you 80,000 if you play and get A's. I got a coupe grand to throw in the pot.
  14. Yeah, that whole scenario seems odd. I am guessing he must have thought there was a chance for movement at EC and then bam whole life turned upside down for a few months.
  15. It was in 2017. He had just left his position at Cincinnati to go to East Carolina and lost his job offer because of it. I don't know the final outcome of the charge just that he was charged.
  16. It appears he was on a pretty fast trajectory in his coaching career that then got slowed a little by a DUI. He definitely seems like he should be a good hire. He has recruiting coordinator experience. Coached both TEs and WRs with good success at Purdue and Duke. No NFL experience or head coaching experience though.
  17. I didn't think any of them were coming. I think they will stay at IU and all play together. Maybe they do but the only reason I truly want them at ND is for them to be with their dad, but they are in college and very few spend their college years with their parents any way.
  18. agree to disagree but this is a football forum and I shouldn't have gone on as I did. Its hard not to when talking about NIL.
  19. He definitely seems to be go after ex-players who can relate well to the demands of being a student athlete which is great for recruiting. That and the NFL experience for the staff will go far. You would figure with NFL experience that they can at least handle coaching their positions. With that in hand hopefully the only thing Freeman would possibly have to coach them up on is their recruiting acumen but most of these guys are already known for being solid recruiters. On another note. If I were Tommy I would change my coaching position to TE and bring in a top of the line QB coach. I have always believed you need a dedicated QB coach because of the time it demands working on all the aspects of that position. Doing that and game planning takes away from one of those responsibilities. Just an opinion.
  20. Haven't had a chance to check it out but why did he leave the Chiefs and go to IU?
  21. I guess it’s not that far from being a done deal after all 😁
  22. I don’t think he will start but I think he will get significant playing time. My biggest question is how much weight can he put on before Fall and can he pick up all the nuances of the position. Last thing we want the rover to do is read run on a pass that he has coverage on a flanker underneath and blow the coverage. Little things like that I think will stop him from starting but be the first in on rotation.
  23. This was also brought up on the Irish Illustrated pod cast. Far from a done deal but definitely leaning that way.
