Im a pretty superstitious person and thought we’d play terribly against UM and like many of expected our second and third string to play the second half. I was incredibly wrong ok both accounts. So here are my thoughts: Do you think its more like Michigan or Ball State? Worse than ball state because Vandy isn’t terrible. Do you expect Wimbush to start and FINISH? Start but Books starts the second half. Do you expect a big win a surprise loss another sketchy win? Embarrassing loss by a bottom tier SEC team. Do you expect Vandy to load the box, kill our run game , force Wimbush to the bench and force us to scramble to just stay in the game? Load the box force BW to beat him with his arm. When nothing works BK will stubbornly stick to his game plan until her hears boos walking into the half. Book will come out firing but it will not be enough to save the team. The D will keep low scoring though. 28-10 Vandy. I hope I am incredibly wrong and BK is using Vandy’s coaches comments of playing in the SEC and not remotely concerned about traveling to South Bend as disrespect (might be deserved though) and gets this team fired up again.

I think both these teams speed on O will be a big test for our D. We are typically decent against power teams not so much against these speedier ones. Our O is going to have put up a good number points against them. Hope I am wrong just like the UM game though.

Should’ve been a great game and atmosphere for the visiting recruits. Interested how it went for many of them.

Every year I want them to go undefeated no matter how unrealistic it is. So realistically 9-3 is likely but if a loss to WF happens, as a few here have mentioned, I could see a complete collapse happening and the team going 5-7 or worse. I’ll watching and lurking on the chat board no matter what though.

Am I the only one that hopes the FSU night game in November is in the low 30s? It’s been 19 years since I lived near South Bend or north of the Mason Dixion for that matter and a lot of time since has been in FSU country. I would like nothing more than to see their team and fans freeze in a miserable game for them. It would be a good payback for the painful loss I (and other here I’m sure) sat through in 2014. Board is quiet....thought I’d get some fall thoughts rolling.

It seems telling if the team loses both coordinators after one season. 1) Is Kelly too difficult to work for? 2) Is it clear his time is coming to an end? 3) Does the university make it clear to coaches that they have no interest in consistently competing for a NC? 4) Do coaches realize that the standards of ND make it too difficult to compete year in and year out with the top Power 5 schools? I just don’t see the commitment to dominance for ND in football. I’ll always be a fan but maybe it’s time to accept we won’t see a dynasty like program anytime soon, if ever. At least Coney and Tillery are back and the team could have a strong year if they find a QB who can hit a moving target consistently.

Hits keep coming today. Final nail in landing his brother on Saturday I assume. Would’ve helped if we had a QB who would get him the ball....also might help if he EQ didn’t drop it the few time the ball got there. Seems like the scholarship numbers are clearing up.

Ok the top 25 defenses this past season here are the only schools we reasonably could have a shot of hiring away DC. Very frustrating to see someone make a lateral move. If this did come down to money ND just made a clear statement on their commitment to winning. Clearly they do. It want to compete at a top level year and year out. Join the ACC in full and sit back with Duke, GT, and Wake as the smart kid schools who are ok once in awhile.....lord it really is becoming a basketball school. How long before we get a replacement announced? Has to be prior to NSD right?
