Even from an injury-insurance perspective this is good news. Think about when Lo Wood went down in the Spring. We didn't have anyone behind him and were forced to start a Frosh. Luckily, it worked out with KR but it shows that injuries will happen and the better you are to absorb it without a loss in production is key. If he doesn't come that's one less "next man in." You always want to be at 85.

It hasn't yet because this is the first year it's in place. 2, 3, 4 years down the road they will be hit very hard because they won't have depth and it will take them a while to re-stock to get to 85 players (with the 25/class max). Currently, their lines are in trouble and if a few key players go down with injury they going to be in trouble. Yes this year they won't feel as much but if they go 9-3 next year, recruiting slips a little (not #1 anymore), then next year similar 9-3 or 8-4 record and they're not as elite any more.
