  1. Hahahahaha! Man, i'm laughing my a** off over here. This thread is becoming one of my favorite of the day! I don't like ganging up on people, but in this case i'm okay with it because Parseghian's theorem is bringing this all on himself. Caught in a lie and can't find a way out without looking foolish. :lie: Sorry PT, but it's the truth.
  2. For the ones that don't think she is qualified, go look her up. I thought that she was a Stanford alum, but i was mistaken. She's was and i think is currently a proffesor at Stanford. She also graduated from the University of Denver and received a masters in politcal science from Notre Dame. The fact that she follows college football, her education and everything else she has done makes her more qualified then anyone else on the committe in my opinion. I think she'll be the smartest person in there that has never played football. I also love the fact that she's a Notre Dame alum!
  3. This is awesome! I said something similar to this in a previous post. I think you just explained it better and went more in depth. Good stuff.
  4. I didn't think i had to say that she follows college football. I thought you knew that? Or maybe that's the reason why you're asking the question? I know she's a Stanford alum and i have heard her talk about college football in the past. If she doens't "tune in and watch", (which i know she does) then i know she will now. Also, opinions do matter and provide clarity if used corerctly. Like if they're trying to argue X's and O's, she's going to need to step in and make them look at it differently. That's what's going to make the selection work. Besides, how is this any different then what there already is with the current system. You have 2/3 human voting, which is a lot of media that have never played and 1/3 computer. How do you feel about Mike Tanghese? He's supposed to be on the committe and he's never played football. Isn't that what this is really all about anyway?
  5. I think that's the whole reason why they decided to have her on the committe. The fact that she doesn't have a background in football and never played could help. I was listening to the local sports radio broadcast and they were talking about it. They said that she could help bring clarity to certain situations and make them look at things in certain points of view. Besides, i still don't agree with current athletic directors being on the committe. And that includes Jack Swarbrick. Just seem like a conflict of interest to me. But then again, i guess former coaches could too? This whole new playoff B.S. could potentially be worse then what we already have. Only time will tell i guess.
  6. Wow! As i said in the score prediction thread, when i doubt the Irish the most they usually surprise me and they did! You guys are right about prevent defense! The only think it seems to prevent is, well, nothing! I was excited for Fox returning that INT for a TD, but then i saw how much time was left and wished he would have went down at the 1 yard line. As soon as ND went into prevent ASU went 80 yards in like 50 seconds! WTF!? Overall though, i thought the D played pretty good. Especially the D-Line. There was a pass rush for once! My players of the game on D were Shembo and Jaylon! Offense did good also. Tommy really surprised me with his pocket presence. He was setting his feet, rolling out and making quick throws. He definitely made some mistakes, but overall he played good enough. My player of the game on O was TJ! Dude is a playmaker! I'm just glad they played like i knew they could! Big win! Go Irish!
  7. Davaris is awesome! He is no where near a liability! Most of the passes he had thrown to him were behind or over thrown! What the hell were you watching?
  8. Dang dude. Chill. That's why i asked the question, because i don't know. And guess what, niether do you. I threw that out there because i have heard others say it before and it was the first thing that popped in to my head. Anyway, i do believe that he'll be fine once he gets more experience and has been at Notre Dame longer than 9+ months or so.
  9. I couldn't imagine that Zaire would NEVER play here just because he can't grasp the offense right now. I mean, he's still only a freshman. Besides, isn't Kelley's offense really complicated? About the rest of the stuff.........that really sucks. I would say just get Hendrix in there. Eff it! It's like corysold said, "How much worse can he be?" I mean, even Tommy seems to panic from time to time. Also, other people have already said that if Hendrix was given the starting position, then he could flourish. I still think he did well in 2011 against Stanford. With what Brian Kelley said in his press conference about Hendrix, maybe he could nudge Rees out of the starter position if he plays well enough. We'll see i guess. Anyway, thanks for posting this info. It's good to know. Albeit, pretty dissapointing.
  10. Today has been a crazy day for sure. 1995 was the last time there was a governemt shutdown and it lasted 21 days. Hopefully this one won't be any longer. Thankfully i'm still getting paid. The president passed a bill through legislation saying that all military members will still receive pay in the event of a shutdown. Unfortunately for the DOD civilians on this base, they are going to be furloghed until further notice so they won't be getting paid. Of course that means a lot of facilities on base are closed. I read that this government shutdown should only affect this weekends games and there's a possibility that they still could play. We'll see though.
  11. It always seem like when i doubt the Irish the most, they surprise me. So i'm going to change it up a bit. 49-ASU 21-ND Hopefully i'm wrong.
  12. Yeah, i saw that too! If that doesn't tell you how bad he is, then i don't know what will!
  13. I totally agree! Why get excited when the team you're cheering for is horrible and the QB is even worse?
  14. 8-4 is looking like a gift! It's time for Tommy to take a seat. I appreciate everything that he's tried to do for this team, but it hasn't been good enough. Especially not for Notre Dame! I mean, 9-24 with 1 TD and 3 INT's!?!? That's horrendous!! And all of those INT's lead to 21 points! I'm also blaming the coaching staff! They finally get the run game going and then ditch it yet again!
  15. Yes he is. He's also terrible at making half time adjustments. A perfect example is last years game in Norman. If Notre Dame can be leading or tied going into the half, then i think they'll pull out the win.
  16. Most definitely! I'm like that for every single game!
  17. The reason why everyone seems to be giving Oklahoma more credit then they should is because of Blake Bell and his performance against Tulsa. I'm not buying it just yet though. Tulsa is ranked around 119th in points allowed. I feel it's going to be a close game, but Notre Dame getting the win.
  18. Haha! It's one of my favorites for sure! In Korea, we had jerseys made for our unit and you could put whatever you wanted on them. I put Balls Deep on the back for my name and everyone loved it. Good times!
  19. Haha! NICE!! Yeah, the guys who call me Holydiver sing it just like Ronnie James Dio did. May he reast in peace. Definitely one of my favorite all time lead singers! I do like that nick name as well though. HOOLLLYY DIIIVVVER!!!!! Hahaha!
  20. I just decided to go with my most popular and recent nickname i have had while in the Air Force. I've been in 14 years and have heard quite a few. My last name is Baldivia, and here's all the nicknames i've had. Baldy Ballsdeep (Korea Tour Name) JBal Baldividia Balldiver Baldiva Ballsalloveryou (My Least Favorite) Ballsniffia Ballsack Diver Holydiver So yeah, i went with Baldy because that one has stuck the most and doesn't sound totally ridiculous. Haha! Also, i know that there is no Y in my last name, but that's just the way people started spelling it so it just stuck.
  21. Hahaha! No kidding! I think it's because he gets on his soap box and HAS to make sure that everyone knows how he feels. Dude seems pretty stubborn! Sometimes, NBC is just terrible with the coverage. Well, they use to be anyway. I remember times when they would go to commercial for a timeout or injury and then when they would come back, there was a play or two ran that wasn't televised! I would be like, WTF!?!?
