  2. Everyone will give him ample time to show what he can do, just as we did with CW. If after a few years, he is performing as bad as CW did, I will be the first to call for his head. The bottom line is winning. It has always been that way and will always be that way. If you can't win, you won't be around ND for very long. I was excited when CW came aboard. But when it became clear that he was not a very good head coach and couldn't win or even get better with time, I called for his head. That's the way it is. That's the way it will be for me as a fan. If Kelly can win consistently and get us to a NC once in awhile ala Ara and Lou and others, he will go down in history as one of the best coaches at ND. If he doesn't win, he will join Faust, Weis, Ty, and the rest of those that, although being good guys in their own way, just couldn't get it done where it really, really matters. I like what I see in Kelly. If he can do what I suspect he will do, I think he will be at ND for a long time and most fans will be happy with him; if not, don't let the door kick you in the butt on the way out! Notre Dame is bigger than any one coach. And every coach has brought some strengths and weaknesses. I frankly think you overestimate CW's contributions. If he was as good as you make him out to be he would not have been fired, he would have won and we wouldn't be worrying about the cupboard being bare. CW is a good man but he simply failed as a head coach at ND and was overrated and frankly he did it to himself. He should have been more humble with his bravado and done more on the field than he did with his mouth. Unfortunately, as it were, the exact opposite transpired. What is, is. Go Irish!

  4. You make some valid points. But the critics should remember that five-stars don't always pan out or perform up to their ranking as the article below demonstrates.. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1046709 Kelly and his team look to get good athletes and place them somewhere on the field where they can make an impact regardless of the position they played in high school. This makes perfect sense to me. Expect good things from Kelly. Go Irish!

    Iraq

Rick Santorum is correct in saying we did the right thing in Iraq. Even the democrat-prepared Rockefeller report found that what was done was what should have been done based upon the available evidence and that Bush did not lie about such information:

  13. Somebody called 93 in an indirect way a douche. I alerted the mods by hitting the "alert post" button. Can't recall who it was though. You know who you are. I'm not even sure that post was removed though. Perhaps the warning is for something else.

  16. http://www.doczero.org/2010/01/the-disconnected-president/ --------------------------------------------------------- It was surreal to watch a politician announce his top priority is job creation, then spend the next hour listing class-warfare enemies. I hope people making less than $250k per year start hiring like crazy, because everyone with a higher income just became a hated enemy of the state. Why, if they work for a large corporation, they shouldn’t even have free speech rights! It’s painful to listen to someone who wants to add nationalized banks to his collection of state-run car companies wax poetic about the power of entrepreneurs, then list all the ways he’s going to punish risk-taking and achievement. Anyone who successfully starts a business, and creates jobs through rising profits and expansion, will quickly become a member of the evil $250k Legion of Doom. The financial speculation he pounded with the poverty-stained cudgel of socialist rhetoric provides the investment capital for those small entrepreneurs. If no one has incentives to excel, and risk-taking is a felony offense, small businesses don’t appear and grow. Entrepreneurship does not thrive in the thin soil of a command economy. Contrary to Democrat Party rhetoric, banks do not exist to give people credit cards they can pay off whenever they get around to it, or mortgages they “deserve” but cannot possibly afford.

  19. Obama's Tax Fallacy: "I gave 95% of all Americans a tax cut..." Really? by Larry Walker Excerpt: First of all 41% of Americans don't even file income tax returns. Secondly, out of the 59% who do file tax returns, 43.4 million out of the 136 million tax returns filed face a zero or negative tax liability. So if 32% (43.4/136) of the those who file don't owe any taxes, and if 41% don't even file income taxes, then that equals 73% who don't pay any income taxes. That leaves the rest of us. So did 95% of the 27% who actually pay income taxes get a tax cut? I doubt it, but even if that was true it's not 95% of all Americans. But the real fallacy lies in the fact that refundable tax credits are not tax cuts, but rather, they are subsidies. Subsidies are paid for by taking money from some Americans and giving it to others. This is also known as 'spreading the wealth around'. I'm not very cheery knowing that while I have been faithfully paying my mortgage, people are buying foreclosed houses down the street for $110K less than what I owe. And not only that, but the Government is giving them an $8,500 subsidy out of my tax dollars. It's as if the $110K of potential equity wasn't enough of a subsidy. Also, when the government refunds a person $8,500 to buy a house, it only applies to those who bought houses, not to 95% of all Americans. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2439044/posts
