  1. just crazy on you.......... http://www.mixx.com/videos/661512/youtube_heart_crazy_on_you http://www.theolivepress.es/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/cheech-chong1.jpg
  2. GWB was no fiscal conservative but he kicked ass on the war on terror and kept us all safe. Thanks George!
  3. That makes two of us. SJ imagines something is said which is not and then replies to his misinterpretation of what was said while he positions himself as the good guy and those who disagree with him as the bad guy. He gives new meaning to the strawman and even dresses him up.
  4. Speaking of age, I stumbled across this story: A group of 40 year old buddies discuss and discuss where they should meet for dinner. Finally it is agreed upon that they should meet at the Gausthof zum Lowen restaurant because the waitress's there have low cut blouses and nice breasts! 10 years later, at 50 years of age, the group meets again and once again they discuss and discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed upon that they should meet at the Gausthof zum Lowen because the food there is very good and also the wine selection is good. Another 10 years goes by and, at 60 years of age, the group meets again and once again they discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed upon that they should meet at the Gausthof zum Lowen because they can eat there in peace and quiet and the restaurant is smoke free. 10 years later, at 70 years of age, the group meets again and once again they discuss and discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed upon that they should meet at the Gausthof zum Lowen because the restaurant is wheel chair accessible and they even have an elevator. And finally, at 80 years of age, the group meets again and once again they discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed upon that they should meet at the Gausthof zum Lowen because that would be a great idea because they have never been there before.
  5. If there were no rich people placing their money in banks and investing, there wouldn't be any money in circulation for young people who wish to get a loan from a bank to buy their first car or home. We should all desire to be successful and become financially independent by working hard, saving hard, investing wisely, and putting ourselves in a position to take care of our families. We should seek to be responsible contributors to society by working for a living and training ourselves to learn a trade or profession rather than to be a burden on other families and being parasites. Self-sufficiency should be our goal, not government dependency. Any dollar you get from the government, unless you paid for it specifically like Social Security, comes from the sweat and labor of some other American. We need to abolish socialist programs and teach people to be self-reliant and not expect that someone else will take care of them. Those who fall on hard times should be helped by their families, friends, and charities until they are able to get back on their feet and find a new job and get back to work rather than sit back on unempoyment or welfare sucking off of the producers.
  6. I never knew that's what they called it back then when the country was founded.
  7. However much money they "control" belongs to them. They earned it. No one has a right to confiscate it. If I work hard to make money and you sit on your ass, you are not entitled to it. Simple as that. That the top 1% own 50 or 60 or 90% of "money" means nothing. So what? Work hard to accumulate wealth in this country and you should be rewarded and it's yours to keep to do with as you see fit as a free individual not owned by the state, and not be punished by having some stinking annointed elite bureaucrat socialist confiscate it.
  8. They should make a movie about this guy.
  9. The top 1% of taxpayers in 2007 paid more than the bottom 90%. http://www.taxfoundation.org/research/show/250.html And Obama and his minions think they are not paying their fair share. LOL!
  10. The mods could have a section in profile for birthday (do they have that already??) and set the formatting to announce a "happy birthday" for each person with their name shown with the announcement on the front page on their birthday.
  11. Somebody want to alphabetize the names with ages and make it a sticky?
  12. I haven't seen anything approaching a logical argument from him or you. You never support your claims, never state a thesis and then provide empirical or logical proof. You guys spew Daily Kos talking points and expect everyone who calls you on it to disprove and do your work for you. I don't play those silly games.
  13. I don't really give a $hit what you think. And don't give me this middle of the road business. You are liberal my friend. That's obvious!
  14. 57 and still trying to kick puberty.
  15. "Here is an example. Haliburton getting No-Bid contracts from the VP that used to be their CEO. Oil prices going through the roof while an ex oil man is the sitting Pres." This doesn't prove your thesis at all. You are jumping to conclusions. You have no proof of any wrongdoing. If there was any evidence and a law was violated, these folks would be in jail. You are just spewing left-wing, anti-capitalist, anti-republican rhetoric. Talk about not having your own thoughts.
  16. Yes I do all of the time. You are coming off as an ass and doing a fine job I might add. I answer questions in my own way. Sorry that you don't like them.
  17. I didn't say republicans (of which I am not) never raise taxes, but for sure it's the only solution to every problem if one is a democrat. Raising taxes is in the DNA of a liberal democrat.
  18. He was the one who made the statement which is just plain ridiculous because he provided no empirical evidence to back it up. Corporations have highjacked both parties? LOL. The only response such pabluum deserves is the one I made.
  19. This is the most ill-informed and naive statement I have read in a long time.
  20. I liked the libertarian candidate for governor in Indiana. He wanted to abolish property taxes. I agree. The government shouldn't have the power to take your home from you if you can't pay the taxes. What happens to a widow who falls upon hard times and gets behind in her home property taxes? The government can kick her out and confiscate the property for a tax sale even though the house was paid off over 30 years from the blood, sweat and tears of the deceased husband. That should never happen in America. Private property is one of the inalienable rights. And the goal of every socialist and Marxist is to do away with that right and make everything publicly-owned by the few annointed liberal elites. This is what we are fighting against in this country. There is only one party that is for low taxes and one that is for higher and higher taxes.
  21. Once, there was a young teenage girl who was about to finish her first year of college. She considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat and her father was a rather staunch Republican. One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to programs like welfare. He stopped her and asked her how she was doing in school. She answered that she had a 4.0 GPA but it was really tough. She had to study all the time, never had time to go out and party and often went sleepless because all of the studying. She didn't have time for a boyfriend and didn't really have many college friends because of all her studying. He then asked how her friend Mary, who was attending the same college, was doing. She replied that she was barely getting by. She had a 2.0 GPA, never studied. Was very popular on campus and was at parties all the time. She often wouldn't show up for classes because she was hung over. He then asked his daughter why she didn't go to the Dean's office and ask why she couldn't take 1.0 off her 4.0 and give it to her friend that only had a 2.0. That way they would both have a 3.0 GPA. She fired back and said 'that wouldn't be fair, I worked really hard for mine and my friend has done nothing.' After a moment of silence, she replied, 'I guess I will never vote Democrat again.'
  22. Here is a wonderful place to learn about the Catholic Faith and listen to discussions, questions and answers about Catholicism. I particulary like Tim Staples, a very good communicator of the Catholic Faith - a very knowledgeable person on Scripture and I believe he is a convert, as am I: http://www.catholic.com/radio/calendar.php
  23. Many evangelicals make up stuff that is not written in the Bible to make it conform to their extra-biblical beliefs, such as that real wine was not used by Jesus or his disciples, which is ridiculous. Happens all of the time. There is one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, founded by Jesus Christ. Protestants have hundreds of different denominations because they believe they know better than the Church how properly to interpret Scripture. If they disagree with the Church, they just go out and start their own Church. Protestants believe in private interpretation and that's why they are so divided. One person's (or denomination's) view of a particular passage in Scripture is different from another's. But God doesn't speak with forked tongue. What He says He means and there is a proper interpretation that cannot be contradicted by alternative views. You can't have contradictory passages in Scripture with the Catholic Church and there is a way to settle it based upon what was passed down and taught by Jesus to the Apostles and the authority Jesus gave His Church relating to doctrinal issues, i.e. through the infallible decrees of the Magisterium (both ordinary and extraordinary), Councils, and the ex-cathedra pronouncements of the Pope.
