When your best QB of the 2010s is the 3rd string Super Bowl QB for the Eagles. Jalen Hurts, Gardener Minschew, Ian Book feels such a long way from Joe Montana winning 4 Super Bowls as a starter.

 Freeman showed that he went a long way in the Dante Moore recruitment. They found the most talented kid. Got him on campus. Didn't get him. Found the Next best option in the portal, Hartman to try to win now and put up the numbers that open up future recruit's eyes. 

 

What brings the next great one? The next one that sticks as an NFL starter? We've been in search for a long time

Yeah, Ian Book is a long long long way from Joe Montana! But good for Ian, not many can say they were on a super bowl roster, even if it is 3rd string.

What brings the next great one? I think MF recovered quite nicely from the Dante Moore let down. Gets Hartman out of the portal, signs Kenny Minchey as a last minute replacement for D Moore and still has Carr lined up for next year. Things are definitely looking up in the QB room! Hartman having a big year in 2023 will give more big time QB recruits reason to consider ND.
