Star studded cast. The exchange between Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper is probably my favorite of all time.

 

One of my all time favorites. That scene is epic. That, and the one where Christian Slater visits visits Gary Oldman

I'll suggest a couple more....

 

For crime drama a kind of obscure Dustin Hoffman film from 1980ish called

 

"STRAIGHT TIME"---has perhaps the best robbery scene ever done and is kind of a terrifc film overall....

 

 

For Black Comedy/Drama---a strange pairing of Keefer Sutherland as a serial killer and Reese Witherspoon as his young teenage victim in " FREEWAY" this movie takes some strange turns

 

For Foreign films

 

Not a crime drama or black comedy but this SCOTTISH film is certainly dark, very well done and surprisingly scary, I don't get scared in movies but this one got me, an unusual all female cast in " THE DESCENT"---there is another movie with that name this one is from Scotland with all women actors...

Oh yes, A History of Violence DOES have a cheerleader scene. And it is....glorious.

 

I liked Eastern Promises more..

 

It substitutes the cheerleader scene for a nude Viggo's dick n balls slappin' around while f*ckin a few cats up - but it has a better plot line.

I like "No Country for Old Men" a lot; Tommy Lee Jone, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin. Bardem creates one of the scariest and most remorseless killing machines I've ever seen in a film.
