  1. I was as shocked and revolted by his handling of his decision as the next person, but lets be honest with ourselves - at least part of the problem here is a group of (mostly) full-grown adults, including myself, letting ourselves become so intensely invested in the whims of (mostly) immature teenagers. Maybe, on balance, we deserve to be shocked and revolted every once in awhile.
  2. Peyton Bowen chooses Oregon; two hats on table, Ducks & Irish. Puts Irish on first, then takes it off & chucks it, puts Ducks hat on. Man, if you want to flip, flip - but is it really necessary to kick sand in the face of the program to which you've been "committed" since last New Years?
  3. Having watched South Carolina against Clemson & Tennessee, I would say a) a win should be grounds for much rejoicing, and b) a significant beatdown for the Irish by Gamecocks should be acknowledged as a possibility. Sure hope we win as well.
  4. Sadly, I don't know by what metric they could possibly be ranked in the Top 25. Shockingly dispirited loss yesterday, about as bad as I can ever remember - and I remember the Gerry Faust era.
  5. Meh...there would still be some on here downgrade the win 'cause Trevor Lawrence didn't return to lead the Tigers.🤣
  6. In all fairness, it wasn't bias that pummeled the snot out of Cinci and Michigan, it was 2 really solid teams.
  7. "the way he left"?!? The butt-hurt is strong in some around here; he left the same way every other coach, ever, left his NCAA HC position for another - it's a pretty simple formula, really: Decide to leave Inform the Athletic Director of decision Leave It never varies much, if you think about it.
  8. "I didn't come here to play school", Cardale Jones, OSU:brick:
  9. Plenty of evidence for those that think ND loses, and they're probably right. All I hope is that, should the Irish somehow prevail, those same guys give Kelly/Book/the program some credit for a change, instead of lining up to disparage & discredit the win - no Lawrence, blah, blah, blah. You can't have it both ways.
  10. Hope it works out great for Cole Kmet and Da Bears; I think it will.
  11. Safe to expand the scope of that statement, as I can attest; it's the same on pro sports forums as well. I don't follow MLB, but NHL, NBA, NFL forums, no different; in NCAA football and the 3 pro leagues I follow, there are only 4 winners every year, and, purportedly 200+ losers. If the ol' team isn't one of those four, there is no satisfaction to be derived from wins, or a decent season, the coach is an idiot, the players are bums, the administration/front office/ownership are idiots - all is a black hole of despair from which no light can escape. It's kinda sad, and at the same time makes me feel kinda simple for having enjoyed the first half as much as I did.
  12. Because, just like John Goodman, he (mostly) catches the ball. Infuriating to watch, though, when other teams have punt returners that move around and do stuff in addition to catching the ball.
