  1. In all fairness to our beloved, slow-bodied players, we're 2-0, whereas Virginia Tech, Miami, West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio St., UCLA, Tennessee...all lost--and I would consider that they have more speed than we. In saying that, I think our defense is much improved in speed this year, comparing with previous defenses, and it will take time to develop what Charlie's recruiting. Speed is overrated IMO. I think it's more of an attitude of not caring and just making plays instinctually. With emotion, you'll see our team "speed" increase. They'll be flying to ball in no time, so just sit back and relax, I think CW knows what he wants in a defense.
  2. While I read all of your doubts on Teo', I will state that he is playing this close to the vest. Nobody knows. And the fact the he's trying to come out for a visit, speaks volumes. He's not coming to sunny, beach-infested, warm-weathered Southbend for sightseeing purposes. He's coming to check out the campus/academics/football. I might add that it's not a fun flight either. So would he be doing this if he's intending on staying on the west coast? I don't think so. Weis showed him the respect, and now he's returning to do the same. So chin up naysayers, look at his actions and see we're in this. Also, I think we have a tremendous edge when it comes to campuses. So if you bump into the Teo's, welcome them from their long journey!
  3. I'd rather he softly commit to someone else. I know that sounds crazy, but to me a soft verbal is more from a pressured standpoint and not from an actual self-realization. I hope he still comes for the Purdue game, and that we put on an aerial show for him. "Soft" basically means "for now" anyways.

Whenever there's still a visit, we still have hope. If he comes and still decides on USC, then it wasn't meant to be. Remember what this campus can for people. I still remember my first visit and it wasn't an official!
  5. "The Spartans will be the second consecutive Big Ten team to take on Notre Dame when the two meet Saturday. The Irish are 2-0 after knocking off UM 35-17 last week. To fully illustrate Notre Dame's turnaround thus far from last year's disastrous 3-9 record, Dantonio offered this gem: 'Obviously they're 2-0 whereas last year they were, um, not.'" -I read this in the Toledo Blade today. I hope we fight hard this game. What a strong showing could do for us.
  6. Wow, I'm surprised on that one. That's exactly the opposite from I've heard. I hope that poster is wrong.
  7. I think we stopped James Bethel-McCloud--I can't remember his name, but the UCLA waterboy who was thrown into action. I think my mom also threw for 3 touchdowns against us too, so yeah...we sucked last year.

I'm going to have to find a superman shirt to wear for the Purdue game. I'll try to take some pics as well of all the banners that should be hanging in support of Mr. Evans. I hope we put forth a superb aerial assault!!
  9. Good information Ziggy. I wonder why all is quiet in Hawaii with Teo'? I know in his interviews he seemed pretty evasive.

Anyone else happy he rescheduled for the Purdue game? I'd hate for his visit to be soaked in rain.
  11. Alright, I'm forcing myself to sleep. A shot of 100 proof Southern Comfort should help.
  12. Do you remember when OSU won its last national championship? That whole season was full of ugly-a$$ wins. Two or three escapes were do to the phantom pass-interference call--including the NC game. My point is this; I'm at a point where I don't care about Notre Dame's perceived outlook, just keep winning--and if you lose, keep it close. The rest will fall into place. I'm done worrying--although I can't sleep right now--just play with some damn heart, that's all.
  13. "Every time I come to the kitchen, you in the kitchen--with your gosh dang head in the refrigerator."
  14. There's no way I'm going to be able to sleep tonight. I've been trying for the last hour, but all I can think about is that stupid, winged helmet. Didn't they steal that design from Deleware? And why would they name themselves after an animal that's near extinction? I lived in Michigan--34 miles south of Ann Arbor--for my entire life basically, and have never seen a wolverine; ever. Not stuffed, not photographed, not anything. If they wanted to name themselves after a state-lived animal, I think they should've chosen the Quail. they're the most abundent animal--next to deer--in Michigan.
  15. Welcome to the DD Blitz. Our 3-4 defense is just a label. Basically, it should be called a 4-3 defense with one of the front, having the ability to rush without putting a hand down. One of the four linemen, will be undersized to create a mismatch with the bigger, less mobile offensive lineman. Too many times, we get cought up with the 3-4 terminology, when in reality, it's a flexible 4-3.

  17. "A pessimist is an optimist who discovered reality" -- I'm really not sure where I fit into this quote yet, I'll know more on Sunday. You have to love emotion, especially that which is fueled by Notre Dame.
