  1. It’s all gravy. I’ve been predicting ND as 2020 champions since 2018. It starts today. ND 31, Alabama 28. And IF ND gets blown out? I’m still so so proud of what ND has accomplished. The administration, players, coaches, student body, housekeeping staff, groundskeeping staff, food service staff, medical staff, travel service, and families have set a new standard for the definition of ‘team’ this year. Just unfreakingbelievable that any team has travelled, played, and won as many games as ND has in this wildest of years. Congratulations to each and every one of them.
  2. I agree about SEC bias. But, neutral field, number 8 Northwestern or number 9 Georgia? I'd take Georgia in that game. I'd probably take (#10) Miami over both of them. Glad to see PAC12 teams at 15 and 18. Only 3 games. If Oregon gets into the playoff after only playing 5 games, that would be a travesty.
  3. Okay. You got me. Case closed. You win. But just to clarify...you actually know someone who doesn’t know what Antifa is? Really? I don’t. I do appreciate that you’ve upped your game and provide references now. Some of them are pretty good. I just don’t seem to have the amount of time necessary to delve into methodology of research and reporting of some of those references, but some are indeed pretty good on the surface. I can’t remember claiming to be a victim. I’m glad you can’t see me vote. It might be too messy to have to clean up your blown mind. Thank you for this nice Sunday morning discussion. I find I must move on to other endeavors.
  4. I love Germany. Don’t make assume. When you do.... Please define far right wing country. And again, you’re assuming I want a far right wing country. When you assume... I’m all for balance. I think it is necessary for a country to succeed. I don’t ever want one party controlling all branches of government. Whether at the federal or state level I think that’s important. Using colorful language doesn’t strengthen a discussion. I do actually care about representatives who live 2500 miles away from me. If they are voting on financial and judicial matters that affect me, it matters. Europe would not be Europe without the US having parked troops there since 1945. We have paid for their security while they have evolved after the devastation of WWII. Can we leave now? Isn’t it time that they figure out how to protect themselves from any ‘boogeymen’ that might do them harm? Once we do leave, I have confidence that they will all still maintain their social structures. Just on a modified scale. Japan? Really? The most racist country in the planet. A great place to live if you’re Japanese. I don’t understand the ‘one religion country’ comment. Which religion? Again, the assumption level is off the charts. My personal friends cross political, racial, religious, and gender-identity boundaries. Please make some more assumptions about me. I’m married to a democrat more liberal than you. I’ve voted democrat innumerable times. But, go ahead, pigeon hole me if you must. I can take it.
  5. Good grief. That’s pretty much all I can say. But since you’ve baited me... Of course, and as I’ve stated previously, the US can never turn into a country dominated by one religion, like the countries you listed above. Not good examples. Germany is certainly a nice country. Two dominant political parties and three others that play a significant role in forming coalitions. The US doesn’t have that. The US also spends billions and billions of dollars there to keep the Russians away. In the US the left screams how terrible it is that the current president is trying to make Germany become more self sufficient militarily. Spend 2% of GDP on the military, as agreed to, and let the US focus resources elsewhere. But Germany doesn’t want to do that so they can continue to spend money on their social structure. Fair enough. It looks pretty good from the outside. Wonder how it would look when Russia cuts off the gas and sends in the tanks. But really, there’s too much to talk about regarding Germany. You brought it up and it’s a good example in many ways, but there’s just too much there to go deeply in one response. The leftist agenda leads to the California outcome. Certainly CA has a large economy and incredible natural beauty. Redwoods. Sea lions. 60 degrees. Surf. Lovely. Most states don’t have that type of climate or natural beauty. If you’re wealthy, it’s a wonderful place to live. It’s just not financial sustainable. It will implode without federal support. The debt obligation is immense, people living in the streets everywhere, the smell of urine permeates the big city downtown districts, and the place keeps burning. Blame climate change and white supremacy all you want, but that’s not going to change the outcome. Maybe electing some republicans could make CA great again. MCAGA. I think I’m onto something. I am entertained by your incessant references to hiding under a bed. It reminds me of a warm safe place that as a child I’d hide. And pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by.
  6. I guess Republicans would say that we’ve had 4 years of one-sided media and 4 years of House investigations and 1 year of “peaceful protests”. Anyone who doesn’t think the US could end up like Venezuela is ignoring the left wing of the Democratic Party circa 2020. And the left wing now occupies the Vice Presidency. Omar and Cortez weren’t in the House in 2015. Again, Biden by himself would probably be okay. He forced himself into a corner when he said he’d pick a woman as VP. I believe Republicans in general have no problem with a woman or and African American as VP or President. But this particular choice has a long record of being waaay left. The left wing of the party pressed him into selecting Harris. Watch for 4 years of government agencies and schools telling us how white people are and always have been the problem with America. A new narrative will be crammed down our throats, effectively creating a new form of censorship. Anyone who says anything against it will end up getting doxed. It’s coming. Let’s look back at this conversation in 12 months and 24 months.
  7. What does the 42-35 result at OSU tell us? OSU over-rated? IU the real thing? I didn’t watch the game. Surprised IU was that close and had the ball with under 4 minutes to go.
  8. It is time to see what Sidney has. It seems to me that all Republicans are viewed as die-hard Trump supporters. Of course they’re not, but it seems like those on the left see it that way. I suspect most Republicans are terrified at the prospects of the far left wing of the Democratic Party dominating the agenda and sending this country spiraling toward a Venezuela-like end. Biden by himself without Kamala would probably be okay. Add in Kamala and it’s a disaster in the making. Those peaceful protestors screaming with megaphones into diners’ faces and throwing fire crackers on them will only grow more active if Biden does not succumb to their will. Kamala relies on those people and does not have the political capital to separate herself from them. She might say things like, gee, anyone who is violent should stop being violent, but she can’t address that group specifically. And Biden won’t. Sure. Let every state become California. If you haven’t visited downtown LA or San Francisco in the last couple of years you should really go. Sights, sounds, and smells that you’ll not forget. And not in a good way. That seems to be the Democratic dream.
  9. Tremendous numbers of people have no faith in the media, traditional and social. Just waaaay too much left-leaning bias. Having the media tell us who won the election does not cut it. I don’t know if Sidney Powell and her crew have viable information or not. She needs to present it soon. Clearly some posters here believe there’s just no way that the Dominion system could be manipulated in the way she claims it has been. I can’t speak to that. Let’s see what she has. But indeed, let’s see it. If the information she has actually does reasonably suggest massive manipulation has taken place, my question to those on the left is, at what point would you be willing to accept that maybe, just maybe, something actually did happen? I believe most people on the right believe Trump lost the election. I do. However, this, to me, goes beyond this particular election. I want to see exposed all of the concerns about election integrity so any can be fixed before the next election. Why are people on the left so concerned about a deep dive into the election process? Is it because it’s all just so fair and all voters of course are treated equally? You’ve argued against that for years. A smooth transition would be preferable, no doubt. But, of course, that would mean giving top secret clearance to individuals that, given uncertainty, may not actually deserve that clearance and access to sensitive information. That’s weak, I agree, but I can understand it. But again, suppose that Powell actually can demonstrate that Dominion did manipulate voting data. Would you guys be here claiming that it’s just not possible, there’s no way it can happen, and anyway the discovered manipulated vote totals are too small to alter the outcome? Or would that give even one second’s pause to consider the implications of that? As I’ve stated, all evidence presented to date indicates Biden won. I think most Republicans are willing to accept it. I also think people on the right want to see all the evidence, rather than trust the media. There’s no way to answer the question you posed in my opinion. I’ve already accepted that Trump lost. I don’t see the information his team has collected. Whatever that evidence is, they must be telling him it’s meaningful. Time to let the public see it. We have grown weary.
  10. Well, you DO have to take into consideration that he essentially went bankrupt in the process of defending himself, with about $5 million in legal fees. And you have to consider that they also threatened to prosecute his son. As someone who seems to know a lot about how all this works, don't these things factor into how someone pleads? Running out of all money makes one accept deals sometimes, I suspect. I hope to never find out from personal experience.
  11. You might be right. The Donald lacks a lot. Tons of hard-to-fathom claims being made. A ridiculously troubling time...
  12. She is sounding very informed, armed with documentation, and confident in her ability to back-up her claims. Why wouldn't the New York Times at least look at this? The hardware and software involved, if nothing else, would make for an interesting story. She's claiming the software was used on 3% of the votes in Michigan. If true, that would be meaningful. Why do so many people want to rush this? Shouldn't we give time to investigate? This is every bit as important as investigating claims against Kavanagh and Trump. Truly, if ANY of what Powell is claiming turns out to be true, our system is actually tragically flawed. And that is worth knowing, at least IMHO. She might not have the goods, but she sure does sound confident. I do get tired of the 'Nothing to see here folks, move along" discussion. Maybe there is nothing to see. But the claims are meaningful, indeed damning, if they are true. One source claiming something happened does not make it so. Several sources claiming something didn't happen also does not make that so. The stakes are too high to simply dismiss.
  13. If that happens, it could be argued that ND might not even be the best team in the state...
  14. I like that word ‘snarky’. Snark-like. Thank you for your insight.
  15. I don’t have the details of what is being presented to the various courts in the various states. Perhaps you have much more information about each and every document presented? When courts see no merit, don’t they dismiss the case? And then don't those cases often get appealed, as per the plaintiff’s right? Or if a court deems merit, doesn’t the other side often appeal? I’m sure you must have more knowledge of these things than me. Please school me on this. I’d really like to learn the facts of what is being presented by team Trump, what has been thrown out, what has not been thrown out, what is being appealed and by whom and why. I don’t see enough on the internet to make sense of it. I just know that wheels are moving and seem to be doing so according to statutes in the various localities. Your terminology here sounds very learned. But it seems that some of the courts don’t see things in such a clear-cut fashion(?). Maybe those Jones Day lawyers with their Ivy League law degrees have it all wrong at every level?
  16. I’m seriously worried that the season may be about to end. The number of games canceled yesterday is alarming. If play does continue, will there actually be bowl games and a playoff? If play does not continue beyond two or three weeks from now, can a champion be crowned? It doesn’t seem right to allow a team that’s played maybe 5 games to be crowned. It is a HUGE accomplishment for ANY university to play 8 or more games this year. A true reflection of commitment at all levels of the university. Shouldn’t that also be factored in?
  17. Maybe Book wants to graduate and move on? At best he’s a late round pick and a career back-up. Maybe he has other career plans, or maybe like Rees he is thinking about coaching. It doesn’t matter to me what he does after this year. I do think his staying would create problems with the three quarterbacks in the ND pipeline. None will develop if Book is QB for all but 8 plays a game next year.
  18. I wonder who will be coaching at Michigan next year. I just can’t see it being Hairball.
  19. Despite our discussions in the Open Forum, I must admit there are times that I totally agree with you! And this is one of them!
  20. The football team. Real deal or pretenders? They seem to be beating what in other years are very good teams.
  21. I did like your quote. It was very good. I also like your use of the phrase, “the leader of your people”. It is a phrase that has a lot of meaning. If a Neanderthal conservative were to use that phrase in relation to President Biden, then I guess that’s also ‘no harm, no foul’. (See what I did there with Neanderthal?)
  22. Fortunately we live in a country where we all know that there are three branches of the federal government. We don’t (yet) live in a country like Venezuela, Cuba, China, Iran, or Saudi Arabia, where the squashing is real and palpable. Religion cannot dominate government in the US, so I’m not too worried about the US going in the direction of Iran and Saudi Arabia. I don’t think it’s the Trumpster who’s leading the US on its inexorable march to becoming Venezuela though. Heck, California and it’s one party state is already practically there!
  23. This Neanderthal simply posted data from the CDC website. You drew your own conclusions. Here’s more data from the CDC website. Again, draw your own conclusions. It’s simply information publicly available, made public by the CDC. This Neanderthal is not placing any value on the data. It’s just numbers. Numbers are rounded, and as of the most recent CDC updated site. 224,000 deaths. 129,000 total over age 75. 177,000 total over age 65. And with that I’ll stop posting on this thread. Reading that CDC website and doing all that math is much too taxing to my tiny brain.
  24. I don’t know anything about Gohmert (honestly don’t know who he is; a US rep I’m guessing), but Giuliani has lost all credibility.
