No matter how you look at it, transfers are hardly ever a good thing. But they always happen. It reduces depth, forces the staff to try to replace him in the recruiting cycle. And with an already depleted receiver depth chart, this hurts. Anything could happen, maybe Ferguson would have had to step up and play. Te'o definitely would start for Alabama, so that is ridiculous to think he is a second teamer on any team.

Yeah well the original plan was for the family to move to South Bend. I'm just saying things might be different if he had been getting good PT. And yes, we have other good athletes and players who can step in, but not with his specific skill set, which is the skill set Kelly wants for the spread. Ability to run and catch, jet sweeps, etc. The way Tavon Austin is used at WVU. Not to say he'd be that good, but the skill sets are similar. I just don't think he was given a fair shot. And I gotta say it might effect my play if I knew I had a kid on the way, and he dealt with that the whole season. So maybe it's a bit of a stretch to call him the best play maker on the team, but writing him off as not proving anything and just stating next man in is a much more inaccurate way to look at things.

I could find plenty of examples of kids who have just said that because it's cliche, and then didn't graduate. And it is, but not nearly as much as a Notre Dame degree.

Oh really, who might that be? We don't have any. Neal was our only true slot. Look at his high school tape. This guy is dynamic. Not his fault that Kelly doesn't believe in punt returns. He wasn't given a chance, I blame this on Kelly.

Not if you are an athlete, which these kids are. Clemson isn't a bad school when it comes to pure academics, but they graduate like less than 50% of their players. That is horrible. My point is that if kids value education, they'd go to a school where they are almost guaranteed to graduate. Like a Stanford or Notre Dame. I could go to Harvard but if I don't ever graduate it doesn't mean $h*t

He agreed to redshirt at the beginning of the season with hopes of graduating and possibly transferring to another school for his final year of eligibility. But seeing as he is trying out for the football team, that probably won't happen. He is 6'6 220-230, solid size. Good athlete. This could be interesting

Skipping is not a big deal, some professors have attendance policies, others don't. They way I see it is you're paying the money, so if you want to skip class it's on you. I had a class last semester that I only went to on test days, and I got an A for the semester.

Brey has twice been National Coach of the Year and consistently has ND competing in the Big East.. He hardly ever gets high profile recruits, with the exception of this freshman class and the one coming in next year, but he develops these players and gets players that fit his system. I think he is a great coach and he will be at ND for as long as he wants to be there

This is laughable. He saved many touchdowns during the season with his speed, so that is not a questionable part of his game. And the coverage they ran probably called for safety help, so that isn't on him. I remember him running step for step with marquise lee, with no safety help.
