Delightful welcome, hopefully Caleb Williams has a big bag of sweet sticky weed on his person. In a less light note, what does the world know about ND football that I am not seeing? The fact that so many people are saying that ND is going to beat SC doesn't jive with what I have seen these past couple of weeks / 30 years.

May be something else going on but this does bring to top of mind for me: CTE is a real issue. It may not be the end excuse for every crime committed by an athlete, but it is tough not to jump to conclusions. Tough to see.

Freeman isn’t going anywhere and shouldn’t until he proves he cannot be successful over 4 years. If you don’t give him the same chance you gave the bad white coaches after what happened with Willingham it will go badly. I am mad about the loss, I think Freeman has the program moving in the right direction but he is making rookie mistakes. Can’t put the genie back in the bottle, the administration took a flier on someone untested and now we take our lumps. I don’t think Freeman needs to be run out of town at this point. I do think he needs to go and get a good veteran OC, preferably someone with some head coach experience, to help him navigate this position.

I don’t think Bryce Young would be able to win behind our O-line. Started strong but falling to pieces.

Next week is going to suck. I think SC is the best team we are going to face all year, much better than SC. I think they have too much talent and it will be a loss. To be fair I think it would be a loss whether we’re 5-2 or 7-0. ND glory is still out of reach.

O-line play has been steadily declining since OSU. ND has always had a problem getting a complete line. It is tough to understand how we produce such high level talent but can’t seem to put it together. This is pretty typical ND football even through the Kelly era.

I didn’t watch the game my girls had homecoming so we were out dealing with that. Seems like a good one to miss. Don’t take it too hard fellas just a game.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame him I just don’t like him. FWIW he is in esteemed company with Kelly and Shaw in my hallowed halls of dislike. I liked Tressel, I liked Fickell, I don’t like Day.

I learned that my disdain for Ryan Day is not irrational after all. That dood is an a****le.

It is a little harder to get excited after last night.

Just got into Chicago, lot of sad Irish fans here at the airport. Could be worse at least I didn’t fly in to see the game.

I turned the game off after we went up 14-10 and watched TV with my wife and daughter for a bit. I tried not to check on the game on the phone but I did and it definitely cast a pall over the whole experience. In recent years I have been less bad about getting agitated. I am going to try and do more DVR and less live watching, just not worth it.
