It does mean a lot. Thank you! Luckily there haven't been too many complaints outside of the initial change to the new software for some people, but that was expected with such a significant change. I think most people are happy with the switch at this point, however. Thank you again, and I appreciate any feedback, requests, and criticisms. They might've changed the behavior with the last software update. But I'm glad! We always had the ability to click the "mins/hours/days ago" portion to go to the recent post, but I always felt the title take you directly to the first unread. Thanks for the feedback, @TexasDomer

Hey @irishwavend, the screenshot you shared is showing your own post. The reaction button is only available for other posters. Everyone else can react to your post. NYGoldenDomer won't see a reaction symbol next to his name, I don't see a reaction symbol next to my name, etc. @NYGoldenDomer- Software is up to date, no new updates. Max number of reactions is 20 a day, so it's a reasonable quota.

I think the way the money is distributed has been a major issue. The NCAA took a big step recently with allowing their student athletes to earn money instead of school's just taking advantage of their brands. But in the end it's a business in the school's eyes. I don't think the impact of money is a negative, until it costs the fans, like ND on Peacock. When you're taking something away from the fans (access/channels to watching the games) to pad your wallets a bit more, then it's a negative. But bringing more money into the program via events, price increases, etc. could be a good thing if handled right.

I don't have a way to differentiate clicks from registered users vs guests right now. But it's pretty clear by the numbers being up that new people are finding the forum. Registrations are slightly up over what they've been in the past, but growing the registered users is definitely on the agenda / my number one goal. But unfortunately chat doesn't do much to help with that

Unfortunately, not many registrations. So likely just browsers. But the biggest reason is Google (up 35.95% of new users during that 2 week span)

Yup, without diving too much into the analytics, new users, specifically, are up 21.36% over the last two weeks.

Agreed on the revenue impact. That may be the difference of $5 a month or so for the site, which doesn't make much of a dent in terms of costs. The longterm SEO impact, and potential to get more people into Domer Domain is a benefit I've seen the last couple weeks. I wish there was a way to have the chat autopost in the megathread. That would be my ideal situation, to be honest.

Thank you all for your feedback & voting in the poll. We're going to continue to roll with gameday threads. It has been great for the health of the forums, and it played a major role in the last two weeks being the most viewed for the site since the week one game vs Florida State. Thanks again, everyone!

I think a new one every week makes sense. Probably more likely to spark some chatter if it's new. But for now, I changed the algorithm on Featured threads showing. It's now going to display the 3 most recent featured topics to have activity (cc: @FaithInIrishForever)

Feel free to feature whatever you'd like! I need to change how featured threads work to get this to show. Right now it only shows featured topics that were made within the last 5 days. But I'll change it to show all featured threads, somebody will just need to manually unfeature them when the time comes.

It's easy to increase in the back-end. But I just maxed out on Database allowance and I had to upgrade to a much pricier plan to prevent downtime on the forums. I don't want to go overboard on opening it up too much. Not yet at least. Thanks for the understanding!

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll need to give some thought about opening it further. Increasing stuff like that does require more hosting resources / database resources. So I need to be conscious of that as well. Send me a message ahead of time if you wouldn't mind.

No ads in the Chatbox (not a feature), but I'm not sure if that would work if it was an option. In such a small space, an ad in-between every 10 - 15 posts for example would probably get extremely frustrating. Thanks for the feedback, @SpeedsterX . Obviously the best for the site is what most people want, so if it's overwhelmingly Chatbox in the votes, I'll put the time in getting it figured out with the developer if they're available & I can't get it figured out on my own. But if it's close in voting, I'll most likely go with the megathread option. Outside of the few extra dollars (literally) it may add a month, there's also a better chance of that content getting found in Google and new visitors coming to the site. Thanks again!
