An MVP doesn't turn the ball over twice in one game. You can't just glance over this fact like too many people are doing. Golson can't manage the game on his own. This is a HUGE problem. If you watch and listen to BK talk about these two you will see and hear the frustration he has with both of these guys. He sees the potential, but they both have to firm up some important aspects of their game. IMHO they are both third string in BK's mind right now.

Maybe because this is what BK said he was going to focus on. The running game looked great because that is what the coaches wanted to focus on. This is one game guys. This is a small sample size. Take it for it is worth.

Other than the fumbles is big. If this was a regular game and the running back fumbled twice, he would be torched. There were other times that he was carrying the ball like a loaf of bread.

Strengths - O-line and d-line - This is a great place to have strengths. Playmakers on offense - Eifert, wood, Riddick, Daniels, GA3(If he can hold onto the darn ball.) Weaknesses - Secondary - I keep seeing visions of Landry and Barkley. Wildcards - QB - We have no idea who or what we are going to get. Turnovers - killer! They can't be worse this year can they? If the wildcards turn into strengths then this could be a very good team. If they turn into weaknesses well... uh oh!:boom:

I agree, but I think this goes with Hendrix too. If either one of them get things worked out along with the secondary, this team could be good.

Guys you are judging who should start on athletic ability alone and what you saw in one game. BK is much closer to this situation. I think Kelly is extremely frustrated with Golson. If you listen to Kelly he loves Golson and his athletic ability, but he makes mistakes. We saw it. That second touchdown could just as easily been an interception. The other thing and maybe the more important reason why Golson is not number one is what we can't see. BK said today that Golson can't manage the team well. He said he is having trouble with signals and getting players where they need to be. This is a HUGE problem. Could Golson be awesome? Yes, but he has work to do fellas. I think if he fixes the game management problems this summer and fall he will be the guy. If he doesn't I think it will be Hendrix. Hendrix made a big mistake, but other than that I thought he played pretty well.

The starting QB. I know we won't know until the fall. Maybe until then you go with Rees and Hendrix.

I have a question. Who is more stupid the people that posted on the message boards or the reporter that obviously got his information from the message boards and asked BK at the press conference to clarify?

Once again I could care less what he tells us. Maybe he is downplaying the team to take pressure off of them. Who knows the motivation of coaches to say what they say to the media and fans. Maybe he learned his lesson that it is better to down play the team and let the fans be pleasantly surprised when the team exceeds expectations. All I care about is that he has his team thinking positively and motivated to come out and kick butt.

Ha! Ha! Hawaii you are easy. First of all, what he said about the qb's is nothing new! We've known this. Secondly, There is no way in HE double hockey sticks that Kelly threw out the number 8 as his expectations for the season. Furthermore, I could give a rat's a$$ what he says to a bunch of old geezers at a club. I don't care what he says to the fans in general as long as he has his team playing confident and motivated.

Yes, and in 2 years the kid will be playing cb at :wof:$U. Urban Liar will say anything the kids want and need to hear. Could you hear Urban Liar tell a kid like Elliott "we might play you at cb" even though the kid wants to play rb. That will be the day. What a snake.

At this point, I for one don't care who it is, as long as they can make plays and don't turn the ball over. If Rees turns into that guy then great all is forgotten. I personally think it will be AH. I have thought that since the end of the season.

we need 5- ND has 7 OL with at least 4 years of eligibility. 4 would be fine. 5 is not a necessity.

It takes a special student athlete to excel at ND. We know that. I have a feeling the special get to know you junior days are for Kelly to make sure he has RKG's that fit at ND. I know it hurts now, but ND football does not revolve around one guy. They will be fine.

How do you know they recruited better, because the gurus said so? They also said Charlie's class was in the top two. We will not truly know which class is better for their team for another three or four years.

I give hoke credit---he came in their and WON--he WON BIG TIME--and he did it right away----HE IS FOLLOWING THAT UP WITH A TOP CLASS AND WHAT LOOKS LIKE THE START OF ANOTHER----That sounds like a GREAT recipe for TRUE CHANGE TO ME--- Weis did the same thing. I'm sure you had your head up his arse after the first two years just like I did. Just because a coach wins right away does not mean they will turn the program around for the long haul. And yes sometimes it does take time to turn a program around. I know you see this as settling, but man be patient. Kelly is doing good things here. I know you see it on your good days.

Not too long ago you were posting about how under rated and great many of our recruits are. Now we can't hold a candle to Michigan's class. You make me laugh.

I may be in the minority here and maybe wrong, but this Michigan season and recruiting year have me seeing visions of Charlie. I am really not too worried.

In his praise of Martin and desire for change on offense, I heard many subtle digs and a lot of displeasure with Molnar. Anyone else thinking this when they heard the press conference?

If Neal goes back to Urban after being told he was not wanted, then so be it. Wouldn't be the RKG Kelly is looking for.

Wait a minute! How could this be? These are just 3 star players from our 2012 disappointing class.

Funny stuff. These kids will commit when they are ready. Getting a ton of early commits does not mean you will have a better class. Many better recruits like to wait a little and take their time. Be patient. Recruiting is a long haul. I'm glad BK and our staff understand that.
