  1. this kid reminds me of Tate Nichols. that is, he's a massive human being. I like the offer.
  2. Hey! A kid that I've heard of from the area! I live about 20 miles south of Rochester (not Buffalo), and obviously this kid is MASSIVE. His offers speak for themselves. He is indeed very raw but again, its nothing that can't be corrected through coaching. And his potential is huge. If I were to guess, I'd imagine this recruiting battle will be very similar to that of Ishaq with Penn State and Syracuse (have they offered yet? because they will) being the top competition. Just my two cents. So glad I can actually comment on a local product that I'm somewhat familiar with! haha
  3. I had alot of fun watching Notre Dame SPANK Miami on New Years Eve with my friend that is a big Canes fan. He would always mock the Irish for having 'top recruiting classes and never doing anything with them'....he's one to talk, a Miami fan. But even he was admitting that ND just slapped the sh*t out of Miami and was incredibly impressive doing so. This recruiting stuff is just gravy. Can not wait for the next few years.
  4. I'm not all that worried. With Gray and Blanton this year, we should have the luxury of working in other corners that will be there to take over after they exit following 2011. Thats the key, developing them and getting them game action and ready to take over. But as for recruiting, I'm not that worried because I really think Farley and Hardy are going to be good, competitive players.
  5. very happy to pick up Ishaq! I have many friends around these parts that are Cuse fans and I attend a couple games every fall. He was very high on their list of wants, for those that pay attention to recruiting. And for good reason! Looking forward to watching this kid become a beast on what should be a stout Irish defense.
  6. Rankings are nice, results are even better. We've all be sucked in by 'killer' classes in the past. The difference now is that I truly believe we have the coaches to take advantage of that talent. The D is looking very good for the future though.
  7. I tend to agree with passing on a QB this year. We missed out on our primo choice, Bubba, so I'd rather see the scholarship go to a useful defender that could make an immediate impact. IF Crist lights it up and ended up leaving (highly unlikely), its not like Worley would come in and start right away most likely. So if that we're to happen you're looking at a true freshman (Worley) or a probable redshirt freshman (Hendrix or Massa). I very much doubt Nate Montana would even be considered. I say go after a top 5 stud in 2012, HARD.
  8. every coach says they are 'going to win'. you can't really expect them to sit there and say 'yeah well its probably gonna be a long year, and we hope to catch some lucky breaks'. with that said, i'm very excited to watch BK get to work. if Dayne is healthy and has command and Floyd stays healthy I think our offense will be very good. and the D has nowhere to go but up. 9 weeks until opening day!
  9. Mark May is still, and forever will be, a douchebag. And I'll go with a 9-3 regular season and a bowl win.
  10. Hard for me to slam this kid for being upset. If the situation were flipped and we were losing our coach after an undefeated, BCS bound season this board would be on meltdown mode. Give the kid a break.
  11. LOL, ok I probably deserved that. But my point is, yes JS will probably go for the HR hire but if Meyer, Stoops, and Kelly all turn us down, we VERY EASILY could be in line for a Charlie Weis running-out-of-options type of hire. And Jack could easily just accept person X as coach knowing that he can jump ship and join the NCAA hierarchy soon and wash his hands of this mess. The point being, Jack is going to do what is in his best interests, whether or not ND gets a great coach to turn the football program around.
  12. OK, I'll say it. I get the distinct feeling that Jack Swarbrick is just looking out for Jack Swarbrick and not the University of Notre Dame football team. He's rumored to be in the running for NCAA President, and I truly believe he is going to Kevin White us, not get his guy, and move on within a couple years. With that said, I hope I'm wrong!
  13. Despite Jimmy having a ridiculous year, I really don't think he is going to NYC regardless. The Heisman has been lessened to going to only the top players on the top teams and Jimmy is not even going to get an invite on a mediocre 6-6 Irish team. Besides, Golden Tate would deserve the ND invite over him most likely.
  14. first time I've posted on here since Charlie was fired. Its too bad it didn't work out for him or for us but it is what it is. Charlie is a great guy and he'll tell you how it is. I just want to thank Charlie for making me truly care about ND football again and pouring his heart into the last 5 years. And I wish him nothing but the best going forward. Hopefully history will remember Charlie as the guy that put ND back on the track to greatness.
