  1. That does make sense. Is this a bad sign though? Where can I go with no experience just some youthful exuberance and get a job? Notre Dame.. Freeman love inexperienced people on his staff.
  2. I agree with the 2nd part. Freeman has until year 2. I'll give him a rookie pass this year as long as the wheels don't fall off or he commits some atrocity like killing a student. If they don't mount a campaign next year that passes the eye test (competitive, consistent play) then I see no problem giving him the hook and getting someone else.
  3. Half of the undergrad programs at ND won’t accept a transfer. The other half require such high level coursework most kids can’t qualify. Its easier to admit a freshman with mediocre grades than it is to accept transfers. ND can accept grad transfers as they have a football friendly grad program but they need to create a football friendly undergrad degree or two besides the design program. They’ll still have an uphill battle geographically for recruits but they’re trying to fight the big boys with an arm tied behind their back with admissions and geography etc.
  4. Seriously don't F with Vegas after week 5 in CFB. Their computers are all dialed in. 3-2** record week 7 dyslexic hah
  5. No way Jose to Urban Meyer. I don't think Jenkins wants to win at all costs. A communications and sports journalism major at ND would go a long way to improving the talent level here. Then they can worry about hiring a big name coach. For now it's going to have to be up and comers or high profile coordinators. This team was just flat. It was like they were on fall break mentally..
  6. There will be no quick fixes with this program. It's probably going to be a .500 program for the next 3 years with lots of inconsistency.
  7. It was intended as such. Most people don't understand the difference between playcalling and execution. Message boards wanted to fire TR after the Marshall game because of his bad playcalling when in fact it was the execution that cost ND the game. After the BYU game everyone is over-reacting the opposite way and this was just my way of trying to point out some things that could have been a lot better despite the great performance. Lots of yards doesnt equal genius play calling Few yards and lots of turnovers doesn't equal bad play calling
  8. I never said his totals weren't good. I said this was the worst situational play-calling as a stand alone play caller to date. His offense executed at a high level. Drew Pyne played a masterful game. However the other games we've seen it's almost as if he knows exactly what the other team was going to do(even though the execution may have been shit) and as Faith alluded to it, he lost many chess matches this last game against BYU. That's all nothing more nothing less.. no need to concoct an argument out of thin air in this topic 😄
  9. I’m not considering any of the games when TR was under BK. That was TR calling BKs plays.. not the same just a 7 game sample size so far. can’t settle for 3.
  10. Yes. Theyshowed this formation before BYUs timeout. After the timeout, the emptied out Logan Diggs to force BYU to show their look. BYU brought pressure and it looked like Pyne was throwing the ball to the sideline and diggs was setting up his guy to eventually break in and Pyne didn't have the time to see him come open. I think situationally Diggs probably needs to know that he doesn't have time to dance and set his guy up for a move as his QB is going to be throwing under pressure. Schematically if I'm TR, I've a got a mouse in the house on Mayer and he just needs to run a post or a slant and body his guy up with no one in the middle of the field to make a play on the ball.
  11. I'm down for self reporting. We're watching the timestamps 😄 Stanford, Clemson, PSU, Bama, USC I just don't trust the Irish to hold onto a lead at this juncture. Way too leaky in the 2nd half this year.
  12. Oh yeah you don't need to sell me, I was team Pyne since last year.. I'm just not going to anoint him the 2nd coming of Joe Montana like some are already lol. Rockier roads lie ahead but he can get this team to 9-3 or even 10-2 and a Jan Bowl game. I think this is a golden opportunity for TR to show the country he's capable of developing QBs and a good OC which will pay dividends on the recruiting trail.
  13. Pretty cool do you do this every week? We should have a contest if there is a way to track it.
  14. I’d argue the QB who has a shotput throwing motion and the nose of the football is routinely going down who can’t seemingly time his mechanics in off rythym throws who only runs a 4.7 doesn’t have more upside than Pyne. Tommy missed on Buchner and that’s ok. I like Pyne but he isn’t the long term answer as he has height limitations and seems hesitant to push the ball down field, although I expect to see him hit more in breaking routes with somewhat tighter coverage as his confidence grows.
  15. Yessir. NBC’s role in the Big10 media deal allotment is the prime time slot for a Big10 team.
  16. Sounds like they’re going away unless ND is on the road against a big10 team.
  17. My old butt fell asleep at halftime lastnight but I heard the announcers say that Shaw tweaked game prep the try to get his team to play better. seemingly that tweak worked as they didn’t look as anemic as they have.
  18. As you should buddy. Keep doubling down on that god awful take. no alcohol involved here.
  19. I know you don’t have any towards him. You’re probably a really good person. Im not trying to get you to gang up on him. I’m just being an asshole, but it is funny to me. Here I was engaging him on observations of quarterback play and he can’t discern a blue water bottle when someone is squeezing it and clear liquid is coming out one end. Shame on me. And dayum I was trying to be subtle.
  20. This below.. he just couldn’t understand what he was seeing. Explains everything I was trying to be more subtle. The last time we got into it I called him a jive turkey so was trying to be nice-ish.
  21. It all makes sense now. Nearly every interaction with Hoosier on this board.
  22. Got a sleeping baby on me and then watching him while my wife has a friend over for movies tonight so I’ll get back to these later in the week as I usually watch the game a 2nd time to watch more off the ball stuff.
  23. I think he called a masterpiece against Iowa and Okie St. I think he was equally creative against Ohio State and Marshall albeit execution issues which are his fault also but I’m just criticizing play calling here.. not gonna even go there with cal as he was trying to win the game and not break Pyne. lastnight was vanilla, and not great situationally. Perhaps over scouting over thinking with the bye week? Put more focus into coaching the guys execution than worrying about scheme? Who knows I don’t.. sometimes he draws plays up like he knew what the defense was running.. lastnight it looked to be the opposite at times. Coaches are not going to be perfect and I just thought this was a good spot to criticize him as I’ve been on the TR bandwagon for a while now.
