IMO, they let the fact that they were playing alabama get into their heads. Very uninspiring effort.

He wont be completely healthy and Saban knows this. His presence will be felt in that fact that he is sort of that captain of the offense in making blocking calls. (I believe anyway) I'm not sure that the backup could come in and make up for that even though the backup is healthy. Saban has had a month to gameplan around a less than 100% Jones. Nix has got to get good penetration and tie up one of the guards.

look, alabama is a great team, we all know that. Nick has a dynasty going. We are all excited for the chance to play and beat the 'best.' You have alot of reasons to be confident in your team, but this simply is not the same caliber of alabama team that you had last year, not close.

wow, I didn't realize all this. I'm not going to even watch the game now, whats the point. This alabama team would beat the '85 bears 221-0, all while sitting their starters early in the third quarter.

bad news,,,just bad news..I just heard that the french army watched film of alabama and surrendered. I have sent an email to BK requesting that the Irish leave the stadium at halftime because most alabama fans say it wont be close after half.

Even if wittek can run the majority of the playbook, I just can't see with his age and experience that he can have a grasp on making checks and adjustments based on different looks and disguised blitzes that we will show. He's only been practicing as the number 1 qb for 4 days. I look for ALOT of confusing looks coming from our D. We need to slow down their running game and it will all click.

quite frankly, even though I don't like having him there at all, I think with this game a loss of a DL would be a much bigger deal. This game is all about our D against Jones.

I think what he's trying to say here is.....

Koyak and the right side of line are just not getting it done. Everett is also not throwing to some wide open guys. One a third down that stood out to me, there was an all out blitz and Eifert was by himself in the middle, Everette threw into double coverage and drive ended. Eifert would have picked up 20 at least. The blocking is holding this offense back and Everette is pressing becuase of that. Tommy can come in and check down to multiple receivers much better than Everette AT THIS POINT. It will come, hopefully, at least if he doesn't lose his confidence. Hard to blame Kelly, he is here to win games.

As the seasoned investigator as I am,,,, I must point out,,,,no obvious bumps, bruises and no injuries to any knuckles. I'd be inclined to write this one off boys. Also, not much nervousness here as in the cops might be looking for me....

I believe that we FINALLY have a team that believes that they can win any time they step on the field. I believe that they will not quit in any game this year, ahead or down. I also believe that we matched up very well with MSU. Not sure how much to take away from the game because Maxwell and their O is just not that impressive. I feel better about the direction of this team than I have in any recent memory. I believe brother

before I get into this let me just say,,I know its ESPN or whoever and that there is a anti ND bias, I know. why watch right. But year after year you hear this crap with the snide remarks that they seem to take pleasure into directing at ND like no other team. A few minutes ago, ESPN was talking about which conference ND would fit in best with and the lady said 'I'd like to see them play in the SEC" Robert Smith could only laugh and say 'why so Vanderbilt could have somebody to dominate.' The anger and frustration comes not due to the fact that these clowns say it, its because they say it year after year and ND can never seem to shut them up. Maybe in my head I have over inflated the talent on this team and this coaching staff this year (I have in the past), but damn, it sure would be nice to go out tomorrow and make a statement and shut these friggin a$$clowns up.

question for anyone who knows...what are the 'strengths' of michigan states defense? Some have said that they could be the best D we face this year. We did okay against them last year but then again, we ran all over purdue last year too.

I expect the head coach to make hard decisions that he thinks will put the team in the best position to win. We may not always agree and it may turn out to be the wrong decision at times, but thats his job. If he makes enough wrong decisions and isn't successful, he wont have a job. This is big boy football. You play to win. Everett knows that. With all of the injuries, I felt before the last drive that we would not win in O.T. because we couldn't move the ball. Everett wasn't throwing down field too well mostly due to the fact that we had no running game, and our best player and best WR were out. And that was my thought about OT (25 yard line) let alone driving 80 yards for a last minute score. Rees just makes better decisions with checkdowns and progressions RIGHT NOW. That was alot to put on Ev's plate in his second career game. Mayock even said that Everett was waiting too long to throw or not throwing at all probably out of fear of throwing a pick.
