  1. Agree with a lot already said. 1. Intangibles are all ours 2. USC has not faced a good D yet. Cal will give them fits and beat them up. 3. Run D like we had against MSU. Lynch will get to Barkley 4. Double Woods 5. USC defense is not good. We will move the ball but as always, hold onto the ball. 6. I think ND wins in a controlled but not convincing manner. I think anywhere between 10-14 points.
  2. I would agree with you if it was just the violations. They aren't on probation so even if they got LOIC, I don't think the sanctions would be as bad as USC. However, tressel lied to the NCAA and it's clear cut he did. The NCAA has made it very clear that they don't like lying. That in combination with the potential extent of the problem and I think they could get LOIC easily. And factor in the HC lying, I would not say the NCAA would take the death penalty off the table. regardless of the death penalty or not, the NCAA will remove tressel regardless of what tosu may or may not do
  3. I would interpret that as "for me to do well, everything has to be perfect, I can't adapt" Yeah, how many times did Clausen ad lib with tate. OT...it feels like decades since NCAA heard the appeal....guess tOSU distracting them
  4. Yeah, no clue what Carroll was doing with the O-line recruiting....conspiracy theorist's would say he saw the writing on the wall well before the bomb finally dropped. If Barkley is frustrated now, I don't see it getting better......what a dick
  5. Deja vu scrimmage today, Barkley 50%, two INT. Woods also rolled his ankle playing with a USC girls BBall player....nice.... Like others have mentioned, D shines....or does O just suck
  6. It was probably the rain, but thought Toma looked a step slower that last time I saw him. However, did feel he put on some muscle.
  7. More of the same. Barkley 50% passing due to mess of an OL. Looks like Woods is go to WR. Lots of injuries. Team sounds sloppier than last year....if that's possible.
  8. Tommy has some experience, he rode the D only in the USC game. He has a quiet confidence that is developing, is more accurate than Crist and more importantly, more durable. He's a Weis guy, buy a decent option, and a better one than Crist IMO. Hendrix and Golson look to be the future, it would seem to make sense to redshirt Golson given the QB surplus. Hendrix could very well be the starter come fall.
  9. I'm just not a fan of Crist in this offense. Rather him as back up. I think the real QB's for next year are Rees and Hendrix. Golson looks too young. Kelly could use Rees and Hendrix a la Pike and Collaros at Cinci.
  10. I agree. That place should be rocking. I don't think USC will score 20. They couldn't score 20 on us at the Collisuem. Granted Barkley wasn't in, but this team is NOT more talented then the one we beat at home. Smith, Lewis and O'Dowd will be garagantun losses for them to overcome. We owned their running game and passing game was mainly short stuff even with those awardwinning 3 upper-classmen. All the reports say Barkley is an intercetption machine and can only utilize short passing game because of OL issues. That will not get better IMO. It could get worse...given how injury prone they are. Anyway, I don't seem them scoring more than 13 My only question is how many points we will able to score I would think at least 20, possibly as many as 38. Also, appeal decision should come soon
  11. I believe you juniper, mainly because I can do it too. And Chiro makes a good point. I'm 5'7 so sometimes that can be an advantage in benching. no way I could make it in the NFL. Hope Brian Smith does. And no way I could make it in Afganistan either. Brother in law just got back. Those guys can be hardcore, especially the SF. Also had an Uncle who did drug ops back in the day in colombia. Problem was he didn't really DO much except pump iron. Dude was jacked. Any way, welcome home....even if it is a year late.
  12. BTW goholston pic is crazy.....and I think there was an OL who put up 225 in the 50s or 60s....now that's no joke
  13. Joke as in I'm going to be a multi-millionaire NFL linebacker next year... Not a joke for the average joe lifting weights. Juniper is right, muscle memory and heavy weight experimentation will get you there. I've been lifting for almost 20 years. Have taken creatine and ephedra a while back but no longer. Never, ever considered roids. I wonder if ND still has that bench press competition...I think Dillon sponsored it....
  14. I'm an old 33 yo at 190 and can do 20. He couldn't have been trying or maybe thrown off rythm or something.
