  1. If we lose.... bad look.... A ton of SC gone/injured/transferred. ---------------------------------------- "The Gamecocks will be without 11 players who were on the two-deep for the regular season finale against Clemson. Some of those departures certainly hurt more than others, but second-year head coach Shane Beamer has who he has at this point. WR Jalen Brooks – Brooks is with the team and practicing, but he will not play in the bowl game. Beamer has called the reasoning a “personal issue.” RB Lovasea Carroll – Carroll is with the team in Jacksonville but he is unable to participate in practice due to injury, according to Beamer. Carroll has not appeared to have any type of brace, cast or wrap but has not suited up for practice. DE Terrell Dawkins – Dawkins has participated in some portions of practice, but he has also worked out with the injured guys at times, too. He has not played since the second game of the season. OL Cason Henry – Henry, the backup at right tackle, was working with the injured players on Tuesday during practice. On Wednesday, he had a big brace on his left knee and was walking with a noticeable limp. WR Josh Vann – Vann is out for the game after suffering a knee injury against Clemson. He will join the team on Thursday in Jacksonville. WR Antwane Wells – Wells missed the first practice of bowl season due to a car accident that kept him from making it back to Columbia. He missed a practice or two, but has practiced fully since then and will be ready to go in the Gator Bowl. BOWL OPT OUTS TE Traevon Kenion (Dec. 😎 – reserve tight end DL Zacch Pickens (Dec. 12) - starting defensive tackle S Devonni Reed (Dec. 20) – reserve safety DB Darius Rush (Dec. 15) - starting cornerback DB Cam Smith (Dec. 2) - starting nickel OL Dylan Wonnum (Dec. 17) – starting right tackle OMMENTS NCAA TRANSFER PORTAL TE Jaheim Bell (Dec. 6) - starting tight end QB Jalen Daniels (Dec. 29) - reserve OL Jordan Davis (Dec. 7) - reserve DE Gilber Edmond (Dec. 15) - starting edge DB Joey Hunter (Dec. 5) - reserve RB MarShawn Lloyd (Dec. 12) - starting running back DB RJ Roderick (Oct. 18) - backup DB Tyrese Ross (Dec. 6) - reserve WR Corey Rucker (Dec. 14) - reserve/injured TE Austin Stogner (Dec. 5) - key backup LB Darryle Ware (Dec. 5) - reserve" https://247sports.com/college/south-carolina/Article/Gator-Bowl-South-Carolina-Gamecocks-football-roster-injuries-opt-outs-transfer-portal-201534691/
  2. The Gamecocks will be without 11 players who were on the two-deep for the regular season finale against Clemson.
  3. I read an article from one of the services (not sure if On3), that they use actuals when available (like all TX schools and other states), but all have reporters/writers get info direct from players and agents. Apparently the kid's agents are pretty open about stuff. I guess the more info is out there, more business for them. I'd also think top collectives also want info be out there. And of course, kids want to brag too... I read an article about Hamilton. He didn't get much. Said he spent it (a car for mom), and lives cheap. He also commented what he expects in the draft. Like 15ish million for his rook contract, and most guaranteed.
  4. I chuckled about the last part above... One of my second cousins is a JR in ND and taking business... He's a straight A kid. Constantly complains about several of his profs. Especially his econ prof is a total Marxist/Socialist or similar. I would like to see several business plans from the school. Make it a competition. I'm sure would be good, and several would be LOL.
  5. Agreed. IMO the staff has done well mostly years in the past 10ish years. I don't know if we will ever close the gap with the top 3-4 teams year to year. But I don't think we need to (to win a CFP). Just a top 10 roster, and a good D, and an great to elite QB. Not saying we'd be bully/killer team every year, but good timing with a very good QB to luck out a couple times a decade. Biggest thing, we need to win to attract kids. No more losses to Marshall and Stanford when we have a top 10 talent rating. Just no excuses for that.
  6. I have no clue. The talent comp rate includes transfers, etc, so I enjoy the perspective. Like I've said a couple times, our talent has been good. Just minus an elite QB for several years.
  7. For those interested in Composite Team Talent Rating.... #10 this year.... 2015, and 2018, were both #8. Several years with #10 in the last 8 years. The measurement only goes to 2015. https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Football/CollegeTeamTalentComposite/
  8. Like I said, not perfect. But close. It's certainly closer than star and ratings of guys lol....
  9. Freeman did awesome, so I give him credit. But we also had like 7 or 8 top 20 (at position) guys on offense. It was a very nice class on both sides. Our 21 was top 10, and Freeman had zero to do with it though. So you have to either credit to BK or NIL (IMO, both). The fund may have been established in 22, but NIL was still moving without a fund. And I recall also ND doing a bunch around NIL education and push. But also, I think too many folks credit Freeman. He's good. But he also slid big time this year late (Bowen, and 2 others). And might even not be top 10 for 23 after NSD. 5 teams are positioned well to jump us with 1 or 2 commits, and still have stuff going on.
  10. It is at minimum directionally correct. You're likely poo pooing because it doesn't help your narrative. The services have good info for most schools. So perfect, nope. But close. And this is not court.
  11. Freeman has really only one class (23). The 21 class was done by Freeman joined, and BK was here last year for the 22 class.. Sure Freeman helped in 22. But we were 9th in 21, 7th in 22, and 8th (likely drop a bit by NSD) currently in 23. Our improvement coincided with NIL in 2020 (for the 21 class). I just hope Freeman keeps the foot on the pedal, and our collective turns up their game too.
  12. IMO, we started doing better in 21, due to NIL. We were top 5 that year in NIL, and got a boost. Dropped a bit in 22 in NLI, but still strong. Need to lead in that area! Hoping Hartman and Carr raise our bar, and with strong NIL, more 5 star kids in the future.
  13. I mentioned early, the last 3 years has been good. Good enough to compete for a CFP. Just lacking a QB that developed. Even 2020 was decent, but a super small class due to roster size. And Jordan jumped. And 2021 was criminally low on Alt, Evans, and Diggs. All 3 are, or will be studs IMO... And Morrison was a miss in ratings. Only a 90ish... 21 and 22 are as good as 23, or even better. Thank you sir! They've cheapened things, and lowered the bar lol. They used to say 5 stars were true blue chips. I consider 5 stars still the early difference makers. Yup. They were off the %s if using Rivals. I googled and found similar articles from Rivals, 247, Athletic, etc.. From the 22 247 article, holy cow, Bama lol
  14. Do you have a link? Questions: What is the definition of "blue chip"? Guessing just 4 and 5 stars. Also, if using Rivals ratings, 2022 should 18 of 24, And 75% (due to decommit)... if using the 4+5 stars. 2021 should be 17 of 23, and 74% Just trying to figure the logic
  15. My thoughts exactly. And maybe even after the first 2 CFP games. Probably decent booster NIL dollars. Not a ton, but probably more than WF. Couple 100k maybe? And agree! Don't need a 1st rounder QB going to the NFL.. just a good/great CFB QB. Lot of pressure on Buchner... We'll see how much the box time helped him. Hopinp that our collective is "active" lol...
  16. Like I mentioned. Some are actuals/accurate amounts. Any school in the state of Texas for example, has laws/requirements that all NIL deals have to be 100% transparent to the public, and other states do the same. And some schools require players to provide info. So sure, some might be art (evaluations/guesses), but a lot are science (actuals).
  17. Sure, he's not a slot WR... now. He's an APB, who wants to be a #1 RB. He's not a #1 RB type. Most good APBs can run slot routes too. He has speed to be both. Just not vision and size to be a #1 RB.
  18. "ND is strong favorite" https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/35328183/source-wake-forest-qb-sam-hartman-enters-transfer-portal
  19. lol!!! no mullet for Sam. Unless he grew on this year... I wish!!
  20. some states, and some schools, require disclosure. TX for instance ( full state, all HSs and Colleges) requires transparency to the public. The NCAA already receivers most info, if not all, nationally.
  21. below depends his major at CCU. Could be simply his major, or just bad grades

  23. I will post several links here for those that are interested.... some now, some later (can't find the link I posted a week or two ago with team ranks) Recruits/HS https://www.on3.com/nil/rankings/player/high-school/football/ Top ND - #70 OT Jagusah $173K, #86 ATH Love $160K, #94 LB Bowen $153K, #96 QB Carr $152K Players https://www.on3.com/nil/rankings/player/college/football/ ND Top 100s - Meyer #18, Foskey #21, Alt #46,
  24. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/wake-forest-star-qb-sam-hartman-expected-to-join-notre-dame-after-entering-transfer-portal-per-report/
  25. IIRC, ND dropped. We were top 5 in 2021, then barely top 10 this year. Doubt we will be top 10 in 2023. No top 10 players. Meyers was 18ish, and Foskey low 20s. Incoming 2023 class, no ND in top 50 (could be wrong). Keeley and Bowen are both top 30ish.. In short, sliding in terms of trending.
