  1. I do believe that Notre Dame guarantees the scholarships for four years, at least verbally and barring any sort of dismissal from the team (thinking of Darnell Ewell and other guys who take medical hardships but continue to stay on scholarship at ND). However, I don't know know the mechanics of ND and player having to resubmit the scholarship every year for NCAA administrative protocols, etc.
  2. You're completely right, it is way worse. Jim Harbaugh has a contract with the University whereas the players do not. Breaking your deal to move on? Unthinkable.
  3. I hope Harbaugh doesn't go to the Bears, which is also a strong rumor. Not because he hasn't been successful in the NFL, but I personally cannot stand him. Send him to the Raiders.
  4. I, personally, find it DISGUSTING that someone in college athletics would ever look to monetize their skillset and pursue better opportunities. Shame on Jim for not dedicating his entire life to Michigan and coaching for the love of the game. No dedication, no commitment, ItS tHe WiLd WeSt OuT tHeRe!!!!!
  5. Universities don't even offer 4 year scholarships to football players, they're all re-newed on a yearly basis. So why would an athlete commit to something longer than the term the University is willing to commit for?
  6. Joe Wilkins is coming back, as most expected/hoped per Irish Breakdown's Bryan Driskell.
  7. These issues are commonplace in every arena involving minors-guardians and contracts. It's not even new to CFB as there have been issues with parents not wanting their kid to sign somewhere and refusing to endorse their letters of intent (essentially, commitment papers that schools receive on signing day). So these issues are far from novel, but ya when there's any involvement with family court, it's usually messy.
  8. Agree on both, Jayson maybe even higher but I have no idea how he will test. Jayson had a phenomenal year, I think he was as disruptive, maybe even more so, than Foskey in some games. AND I think Jayson left some stats out on the field by just missing out on a sack/TFL. With another year, some added weightroom and coaching, and a little luck, he could have a monster year.
  9. Glad to see him back in the fold, hopefully Jayson follows suit!
  10. It appears Quinn Carroll going back home to Minnesota, best of luck to him.
  11. Taylor hasn't closed on his top target yet, but he also had a backup plan and landed Logan Diggs and Audric Estime after missing on Shipley and JD Price (Sawchuk, Singleton, etc.). So while he hasn't reeled in the big fish yet, he clearly identifies good talent as a back up and gets them. So he's at least recognizing the importance of Plan B, unlike Del.
  12. Bingo, the world of college athletics crying poor is and always has been bullshit. If you don't have the money, don't give the HC and leader of the "money losing" football program $9m a year. March Madness alone does something close to $1b in revenue alone. This all reminds me of how Amazon never technically made a profit for a decade+.
  13. It's only been reported by ND prime publicly, it seems like there's a lot of uncertainty re: Foskey's status. Hope he returns, balls out, and goes in the 1st round.
  14. As Big mentioned in another post. If he’s just there to offer depth and play as swing tackle and/or guard, I guess. Was thinking it would be best if he moved and ND moved on given his injury history.
  15. Maybe, but I don’t think transferring is or will be nearly as widespread as you think, especially once we’re a few years into this. For every Jameson Williams there’s probably 10+ Jordan Johnson types.
  16. And now they’re getting much more than a free education. Why does this bother you?
  17. It’s always been about money now there’s a problem because you just don’t like who is getting the money. Kyle Hamilton’s two INTs against Florida St. weren’t any less exciting because he sells rhoback shirts and does a podcast.
