  1. I have not paid any attention to 2024 recruiting....need to make it through 2023 signing day but taking a look at the last few posts Justin Scott based on ranking, measurables and location is someone the Irish must get.  Any idea though why there are only 2 OL listed on Page 1?  Does this need to be updated or waiting for 2023 to finish before Harry can really get traction with more 2024 kids?

I'm visiting South Bend for the first time with my brother and son (8) for the Boston College game in a few weeks while my nephew (16) goes on his college tour. None of us are huge ND fans, but we all love a great gameday atmosphere.

We have a hotel in downtown South Bend, but don't really know what we should be looking to do while we are in town on Friday night and Saturday before the game. Any suggestions for something we will all enjoy?

    Cheers!

Go to Fiddlers Hearth for dinner and some Irish Music on Friday night.  Downtown South Bend.

QB is gonna come down to transfer portal, no?  Who's going to sign for '23, expect to start as a freshman, only to have CJ Carr come in '24 and have to compete again.  We need a rental, or you're stuck with the competition between Buchner, Pyne and Angeli.  And will the portal have anyone that much better than them?  Maybe.

Why not?  All the big programs have guys come in to compete.  Why not here?   Yes some transfer out when they lose but that's the name of the game.

If ND beats osu this weekend,  I could see us taking 6. Qb, 2 dl, 1rb, 2 wr/db's . Osu has a ton of elite 23/24 recruits coming into Columbus, and beating them in prime time, in front of several studs ND is already in on would be colossal.

I think many are underestimating what a massive boost to already strong recruiting under Freeman/ Bowden this would be,  since the prior staff wonvery few of these big games and failed to capitalize when they did. I'd bet several top 50 caliber players would become legit targets. Nil may still prove difficult to overcome,  but i wouldn't put it past this staff based on the tenacity they've shown this cycle.

I will be praying for it, wishing for it and will be a crazy night if it happens.....not counting on it or expecting it though!  Go Irish!

  5. 20223 vs 2024 may come down to how well Buchner plays.  If we do not sign another good QB and if our exiting QB's play poorly perhaps Carr will then decide to enroll in 2023

Either way he will learn more at ND sitting on the bench than he will in High School so perhaps just personal choice / what kind of high school experience does he want to have.

  6. I think we lose Ohio State....I really wish someone explained why Buchner did not get snaps in the bowl game to  help prepare for this moment.  I actually think we might beat Clemson...it will be cold...ND should have very good offensive and defensive lines and I think USC is too thin and with attrition ND will run all over them. I say 10-2  with a loss coming somewhere in addition to Ohio State.

hearing rumblings ND is moving on from Dante Moore and CJ Carr may reclassify to 2023 class. I am totally against both of these ideas. It seems Dante's father is not for his son going to N D. Parents ugh

I think reclassifying is fine.  He is old enough to graduate next year...older than Dante Moore.  Is playin a year in high school better for his development or learning at ND while most expect Buchner to finish up his 2nd year as a starter.  If Buchner is NFL worthy after two years as the starter he is gone anyways.  If there are injuries the job is up for grabs etc.   I think enrolling in 2024 is more risk for ND as anything can happen with time.

  8. His current high school coach knows he is the best player on his team or any team he played. Mostly as he is big and fast and a little bit mean.  His new coach in the USA has only seem him play on video so we will see.  It will be a big year next year to adjust to the size and speed for him I am sure.

Also go to school camps where you are interested, but realistic, this will not only provide instruction but also get an evaluation.

Yes...not sure how good he is to be honest.  Up hear he dominates but against weak competition and he does have speed and size but will need some good coaching thus the reason he is headed south to prep school.  I of course will suggest the ND camp but maybe some other closer schools as well to gauge the level.

  10. Hi,

I have a friend who's son will be leaving Canada and heading to a prep school in the USA for Football.  His Dad so far knows very little about how recruiting works.  His prep school coach is well connected and I have seen kids from the school being recruited to big time programs.   As a 2025 should he be hitting a few camps this summer?  If so any suggestions?  He is an unknown player at this time...in high school plays anywhere from defensive end, interior d-line, linebacker, tight end and even running back.   Based on his Dad and current size will be  6'4" plus and can likely easily carry weight above 250.  Currently maybe 6'2 and 220?

Competition in high school here is weak and club team only slightly better thus the decision to enroll in USA.

Any thoughts on camps would be appreciated. I understand some are invite only but I was thinking he should attend a few next month to get his feet wet before he reports to his school late July.
