  1. It always takes me a few games to learn the new numbers but honestly pretty excited.  I would agree off the top of my head will need to learn the WR's and TE's numbers....most of the D and the O line, QB and RB I should be good to go by the end of the Navy game.  I actually am optimistic for the team this year...yes we will likely lose a game or two  but I do not think we will lose 3.  May surprise and only lose 1.  O- line play, QB and RB will keep us on the scoreboard.   D will do enough. Go Irish!

    Upcoming commitment announcements:

MA OL Guerby Lambert: before senior season

CA LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa: July 23

AL LB Bradley Shaw: unknown, sounds in season/fall

UT S Davis Andrews: any time

Lambert...important recruit...not very much chatter about his decision making......if before senior season means early August that works...need some more momentum.  Not sure when school or football practice starts back up in the North East.

Justin Scott has mentioned NIL in both of the interviews I've read.  He does NOT have an official visit set to ND b/c he says he has and can visit easily from Chicago.  With a Georgia official visit up next, I'm not feeling great here.  Never know, though.

If I were Justin Scott and intended to sign with Notre Dame I would save my official for a Notre Dame home game so you can be pampered every more / free hotel etc.  He can obviously swing down for cheap anytime he / his family wants.

Issue is also ND has based level to get enrolled as a HS student, Foreign language (i think Calc) redit etc. Just letting the people transfer in with certain GPAs circumvents that

Yes....the online Notre Dame University for Athletes would have to be created.  Would prefer that not to happen but unlike some I do not want to transfer my allegiance or fall Saturdays to Alabama

Overall, I feel like the transfer portal is one of the biggest detriments to ND football moving forward. It becomes a complete uneven playing field for us considering that every one of our players is eligible to play anywhere in the country, but we can really only bring on grad transfers with few exceptions.

if the portal rules don’t change, I wonder if ND will be willing to get creative

All it takes is a stroke of a pen by the Administration and an understanding and acceptance that the game has changed. You do not have to become the University of Phoenix but as long as players are enrolled in class and have some sort of minimum GPA let them in.

  6. The NCAA has to fix this.  Not sure how but limiting when athletes can transfer, having to sit out a year seems reasonable when the University has committed to you for 4 years....especially if transferring early.  If it continues the way it is the 85 limit will need to increase.  There is also the protection for those getting cut like is happening at Colorado.

Diggs shocked me, but in fairness, if I had to choose btw him leaving or Jadarian Price or G'Bran Payne...safe travels Logan.  Best of luck.  Probably mixes Tyree back in a bit for this year, too.

Its all short sighted and dumb.  You honestly want one year of work as a college RB.  No more. Stay at ND...see how it shakes out....Estimene and likely Diggs gone this year anyways.  I hate what the transfer portal has done to college football and will watch and pay attention less going forward.

I have to admit, I think I have to go back to Jimmy Clausen to find a QB recruit that I was more excited about as I was with TB (on paper). TB has all the physical tools to be an elite QB and (IMHO) just needs the right OC and QB coach to get him there. Having said that, I DO NOT believe TR is that guy nor do I believe his perfect fit is an NFL style offense.

There are several offensive systems around the country that I think would be a great fit for TB. Sadly, I do not believe that ND is the right place for him nor do I believe Alabama (with TR) is a good choice.

I honestly wish him all the luck in the world and I do hope to see him end up in a place that will lead him to playing on Sundays. I just really hope he doesn't end up in Bama thinking that TR will get him there.

Elite College QB.  I do not think he has what it takes to ever play significant minutes in the NFL.  He seems like a nice,, smart young man.  Get your degree at ND...if Hartman goes down you are the starter...either way if you think you can play you should have the edge in 2024 unless you honestly think CJ Carr or Minchey is already better.  If you just want to play Football....I guess I get it but you can do that after getting your ND degree this year (or being very close to it) and then still have two years to play Football.  Buchner's sister is also coming to ND to play soccer and his Dad was / is building a house in South Bend last I heard.
