  1. While the tone of the article is decidedly anti-Pitt, the facts are stated correctly. 1. The three players in question allegedly participated in a physical altercation with the plaintiff. 2. The three witnesses, rather two witnesses and 1 victim, did in fact pick the three players out by photograph. None of the three were able to identify all three, but all three of the players were picked by the witnesses. 3. The players in question, according to the police report, did use racially insensitive (Albeit undisclosed) terms. The classes the players knew the victims from are not relevant, but I think that the author did intend to paint the alleged perpetrators as less than scholars (Vampires and African American Dance). The facts are what they are though, regardless of the website. Still, innocent until proven guilty. Here is the story as reported by Fox News: http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/11/02/three-pitt-football-players-charged-with-simple-assault/ Thank God that players who have "people" all come to ND otherwise there might be some real danger.
  2. This isn't news. This has been happening in lower class neighborhoods for years. I grew up in the bad part of town and was one of a small number of caucasian kids in school. I remember groups of Vietnamese and Hispanics regularly walking up to those of us who were alone and white (Never when we were in a group) and punching us in the face for no reason. This is typical ethnic posturing and it is sad that they feel like they have to win the approval of their peers by proving how tough they are by assaulting people and disregarding the law. With that said, look at the numbers from the Pitt game, if those three had not played Pitt would have had no offense at all. I hope these guys played in their last game last week and will always remember the crushing triple overtime loss to ND as the end of their football career. Unless, of course, they are simply not guilty of the crime, in which case I wish them the best and hope they stay away from these situations going forward.
  3. Mark May picked ND to take Pitt down, which explains why the game went so long. ND's greatness v. Mark May's suckness.
  4. That's nonsense. I created that image! And electricity. Rocketsan is the devil. [ame= ] [/ame]
  5. "if you dislike kiffin, you'll like this article" I do, and I did.
  6. David Stern is supposed to be retiring soon, I think he is a dead lock for Comissioner of the NBA.
  7. USC, come for the nice weather, stay for the hot chicks who do your homework for you while future NFL agents cart you from Vampire Hunting 101 and Advanced Sweater Knitting to your booster sponsored Mercedes.
  8. I like this, it doesn't matter if Kelly misunderstood or what the issue was. He didn't like the tone and he went to bat for his players. I think he knew there were going to be some questions about the effort of his team and he wanted to nip them in the bud. A lot of people don't know, but BK interned at a middle school when he was younger: [ame= ] [/ame]
  9. You can mock but he is right on this one. There is nothing good about our rivals turning into dog crap. Look at Meatchicken, MSU, and BC this year. They are doing far less for us than Oklahoma and Stanford. I don't want to see USC in the top 10, but I want to see them hovering eternally around 24. With the 120th best recruiting class in the nation.
  10. Is the ND support group not already so small that we need to polarize it and kick people off? Being a true ND fan is like being a true fan to any team, you root for them no matter who they are playing. Root against them for any other team and you are a fan of that team? I am sure this happens to any fanbase when they do well, the people who stuck it out through the bad times want to elevate themselves as a reward for the suffering, but it is asinine. If ND has some converts this year who are gone next year, so be it. It is fun to not have every single ass clown in the universe not on here running their mouths about how ND sucks. It is kind of like watching the WWF when one of the bad guys that you really don't want to be a bad guy turns into a good guy. Even though you know he is going to turn on your favorite guy and hit him with a chair and turn bad again, it is still nice for a while. And then some times you get guys like the Rock who just stay good guys. *shrug* Either way, just try not to be d**ks. Domers dont need to be called elitist jerks on top of delusional.
  11. They took margin of victory out of the formula for a reason, because every team has struggles. After a big win many teams will struggle with, or lose to, an inferior opponenet. Happens all the time, that is why they play all 12 and dont just mark down Ws or Ls. The controversial call against Stanford was reviewed about a million times and it was clearly the right call. Whistles blow, he did not get over. If the whistle does not blow who knows what could happen? Maybe he gets in. Or maybe Te'o hits him so hard his insides shake loose. When the rubber meets the road, you can only beat the teams you play, there are no hypotheticals. If the other teams that you think should be above ND had taken care of their business, as ND has, this would be a difference talk. As it is, ND is deservedly #4.
  12. Luck has everything to do with it, and it is fickle. It has been for the Irish in the past several years, nice it is turned. The refs could have waited longer to blow the whistle against Stanford. The replay could have overturned the Manti interception against OK. The PI call against Pitt could have never happened. Then, for Bama, they are lucky that Les Miles had a stroke during the game from excessive ear digging and just blew the end of the game off. I think you are saying what most everyone is thinking. I want to look like an undefeated team every week, not have to nailbite every game. Good teams win tough games, but good teams don't struggle consistently with bad teams. Spot on observations.
  13. I like this idea. Our O-line is playing a lot better. I think that a power run formation with double TEs would be lethal, though we only really have one TE who presents a consistent threat.
  14. I admire everyone who kept the faith throughout. I started feeling dread as soon as Pitt scored it's first TD after we were held to a field goal. I came down from the ledge remembering that we are a great second half team. I nearly took my cyanide pill during the 3rd quarter where ND has been so successful. When we were down 20 - 6 I, rationally, started shaking my head and feeling bad for poor old Lou having to sit with Mark May, who was going to be intolerable. I took the exhaust pipe out of my mouth when we scored (PI call was a lot of luck, that flag could have stayed in the pocket with no foul), but I nearly broke a tooth when Brindza flubbed the extra point. The fact of the matter is that our offense was unable to produce more than 6 points in 45 minutes, how were we going to manufacture 20 in the last 15 minutes. When Brindza missed, how on earth were we going to pull off a 2 point conversion when we had been so unsuccessful in the red zone. And if we went to OT, how on earth were we going to get by with Brindza? Love all of his makes, but unhappy with his misses. Not hating on him, just wish he had a little more time and practice. So I lost the faith, time and again, I started thinking about how good and 11-1 season still looked when I thought we were going to go 8-4 and be left out of a bowl game because of the conference tie in problems. So, it is what it is. I am loving Golson more and more. I now see that if we get the ball back with a couple of minutes down a score, he can get us to the promise land. Just like Brady. Just like Jimmy. My 2c, forgive me Father for I have sinned.
  15. I freaking *LOVE* footie pajamas. Can't scoop em up in my size though.
  16. Bah, no team is the same one week to the next. If Graham, Streets, and that other felonious turd played this way all season Pitt would be top 20 today. Like BK said, everyone brings their big boy pants against ND. You are right though, we dont deserve to be higher ranked than Ore, KSU, or Bama.
  17. Say what you want about Kelly starting Rees after halftime, but he left EG in after he threw a potentially game losing pick in the end zone even though Tommy is, apparently, better during the 2 minute drill. He made the right choice when it mattered. EG needed this game more than the OK game.
  18. Dont get me wrong, I am not saying Kelly is not doing a great job recruiting. I am just saying I would like to be in the mix for the number 1 guy every year. No criticism for Kelly.
  19. Freedom of marriage is rightfully offered, the definition of marriage is the issue. But that is another issue outright. People like you and I don't sway based on what we read anyways, we have our positions. I only try to induce the "undecideds" to vote their values. http://www.hulu.com/#!watch/404175
  20. He does deserve it, and in the words of Clint Eastwood "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." Much like you, I am rooting for him but hope he is on the outside looking in at us come year's end.
  21. I am not debating about what a woman's rights are with her body, that is not my fight. I am saying that the right to terminate a pregnancy (Whatever the reason) is not a constitutionally protected right. IRT the anti-non-Christian secular oppression or whatever, this country was founded by Christians. It is what it is. They left England to have the ability to worship. In that founding they realized that the fundamental ability to worship should be inherit to all, so all religions are given equal rights to worship freely. Health care mandates forcing religious groups to provide brith control and abortive medications is oppresive. Forcing the issue on gay marriage is oppresive, especially since (At least in my state) the popular majority voted against it. If you were a Christian I think you would see the unequal treatment, but you are clearly on the outside looking in. I am not sure what your spiritual background is but I am sure that if you wanted to honor your dead with a monument or freely choose to abstain from teaching your kids about sexuality until they were of an appropriate age you might be agitated if the government, put in place to serve the will of the people, takes it upon itself to do something for the good of the people that is not voted on by the people. But I digress. From my position as a conservative right wing Christian, Romney is not perfect but his values are a much closer fit than Obama, who apparently is openly Christian in spite of his values.
  22. This whole KSU season reminds me of BK at Cincy. I see Snyder getting a more lucrative position in two years and KSU returning to mediocrity. Klein is more Kellen Moore than Andrew Luck. If all four unbeatens run the table there is a fair chance we will square off against KSU in a BCS game, then we will see how good they really are. Either way they are going to have a big game at year's end.
  23. Zeke has been impressive this year, I think maybe his talent was overshadowed by Hayseed. Either way he is having a great year and he provides a lot of leadership to the defense, similar to Hayseed. It gives me confidence that when Manti graduates and moves on, someone is going to step up and fill the void, a team full of leaders.
  24. I saw an image leaked for next year's Shamrock series uniforms, if you like this one you will love next. http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/pics/40001_01_lg.jpg They are still trying to bedazzle the jersey.
  25. Gotta give Bennett Jackson and Nicky Baratti some love too, they have performed well. I would like to see some elite talent as well. I love a coach who can develop under the radar players, but I also like to see Notre Dame knock it out of the park and win some big recruiting battles.
