Not sure why intellectual America tells me NOT to assume a particular religion behind a terrorist attack. I'm not talking about blaming every Muslim but simply being "allowed" to acknowledge the propensity of it being spirited by 'extreme' Islam without being labeled a racist.

But when you have a President who at all costs avoids placing blame where it actually belongs it's easy to see why it's become what it is. Fort Hood was workplace violence...f'ing really?! God forbid we call any type of domestic violence a terrorist attack when it involves someone of that particular faith trying to carry out extreme violence and evil associated with its most radical teachings. Trying to push the false belief that no terrorist attacks have befallen America under my watch is total BS! They have, but obviously at a much smaller scope when compared to 9-11. The reason more haven't happened is because of the men and women on the front lines of the battlefield and in law enforcement back home.

 

But the President is indicative of a larger movement within America. We don't hold anyone or anything accountable anymore, do whatever the hell you want and whatever makes you feel better about yourself. You are not responsible for what you do or say and someone/something else must be blamed for the reason you do such evil deeds.

Hate to throw out the term white privilege but when a white person commits an act of violence, it only reflects on that particular person. A brown person goes crazy and it's an indictment of the whole culture.

 

I'm all for doing what we need to do to keep us safe, but there is always 3 sides to a story and all we're getting is one. When the question of why they hate us is asked, the answer is always clumsy and generic.

 

We destabilized that region. Also, they attacked Paris not Pittsburgh, why are we making it all about us?

 

I have no doubt that if I painted a picture of Jesus doing something scandalous on my house, my home would be burned down in the name of Christianity.

I don't think Muslims have a monopoly on religious violence, but they are far and away the leaders.

 

But there is Catholics vs Protestants in N Ireland. Sikhs have had issues in India with Hindus over cows.

 

But none of that gets to the levels you mention.

A subset of Muslims are too blame, not the entire religion. Just as all cops aren't murderers after the cop in South Carolina shot the guy in the park. Just like all white Christians don't blow up buildings like Timothy McVeigh.

 

I'm not a sympathizer. I am as angry about all of this as anyone else is. But at the end of the day, the lunatic actions of a few do not speak for the entirety of the religion.

I work within the scope of this topic daily, but i wouldn't consider it as serious as something like the race divide going on in the US right now.

 

It's sad that it took a murderous assault in Paris to get everyone's attention. No one batted an eye when 200 were killed in Lebanon just days earlier. I had to laugh at CNNs bold headline regarding France bombing isis. We've been bombing the ish out of isis for about a year now.

Exactly. It's been going on for a while now. I just saw that the hacker group Anonymous is going to jump into the fray against ISIS too, oh joy. Kill a bunch of innocents in the ME and shame on you, but do it in the west then we'll take action.
