  1. Let me get philosophical with everyone. Is a top ten class still a top ten class if they don't win?
  2. BTW.. this just tweeted by II Who said the changes were bad? Now we will have the same people saying "They should be focused on football and not games" He wants the team to hang out together at the Gug to create a team.
  3. Here is what I find funny 1) We don't know what cleaning up the locker room means 2) We don't know that Kelly did this, we are taking "Da Coach's" word that it happened 3) We don't know how bad the locker room was; 4) Did he take down signs, go through people's lockers or just tell them to keep it tidy? NO ONE KNOWS? We don't even know if this actually happened. Who cares. The coach runs the program, not the players, there is always change. Remember how many players left when Weis came in? It happens, deal with it.
  4. I wonder if it is a "you will be offered once you visit" deal
  5. This. If you don't win, nothing else matters. We were projected to go to the BCS when the recruiting predictions were made.
  6. It is really hard to tell until guys that are open take an official visit. I believe Jan 22 and 29 are official weekend. That will show a lot.
  7. What does this have to do with "USC Coaching Rumors"????
  8. The facts are that EVERY coaching change loses recruits. We are about to see it at USC, we saw it at Florida (until UM cam back). It is not a reflection on BK's ability. These kids were recruited by a difference staff. The fact that 5 still EE and we really haven't lost as many as other programs in turmoil says a lot about how Weis recruited the University and how BK has done. If you were the parent of a kid committed to ND, you wouldn't have listened to other coaches during the time before BK was hired? or when no other staff was named? It is your kid's future. Name a program where a coach got fired that didn't lose anyone. I will wait anxiously for a response.
  9. Who would have thought that ND, USC and Florida (though not for very long) would have head coaching vacancies in the same year. Imagine how tough things could have been if they all occurred at the same time.
  10. That. Also, regarding Micheal Jordan. He did get a scholarship to UNC. Before Montana sees the field I would prefer he earn a scholarship. I don't want anyone NOT on scholarship to see meaningful time. If he earns a scholarship then he is no longer a walk on. Also, How many of you would be this passionate about a walkon seeing playing time if his last name wasn't Montana? How many would like a back up JUCO QB to be the starting QB for ND? How many of you?
  11. The coaches will give him a chance... in high school, at juco, and in practice... I would prefer not to see him in a game in meaningful action.
  12. So every back up high school QB should be allowed to play for ND just in case they prove themselves? Or just the ones with famous fathers? I swear if his last name was Smith instead of Montana no one would care...
  13. They don't give athletic scholarships instead they call them a grant in aid. Long story short, top players in the Ivy's don't pay
  14. I don't know one way or another... I just prefer not to find out. Also, regarding Cassell... he was on scholarship at USC... a little different situation.
  15. 100% agree... not saying he couldn't contribute to the team in otherways (practice, leadership, comradery etc.) just saying I would much prefer another QB to play meaningful time. Also, regarding his stats and a "1st year", this will be his first year in this offense too.
  16. And I don't want to find out... More often then not backup QB's in high school with no scholarship offers who go to a JUCO to get "playing time" but only have a JUCO completion percentage of 35% do not turn out well. He had a chance to get PT at a JUCO this year, and couldn't do that. If he would have dominated (or even played well) I would have a different opinion. He had the opportunity to prove himself this past semester at a JUCO and he didn't (or any other DI school either)
  17. Yes I stand by my comment, I hope he never sees any meaningful action. Yes, I stand by that... I would rather a scholarship player play over a walk on. How is that bad? I would rather play a walk on that started for his HS team over a backup for his HS... If his name wasn't Montana would you say the same thing? Do you want Brian Castello to see meaningful action? Who is he you ask? Another walk on at ND who started in HS... May be tough for some to believe but Montana will be 4th this spring behind Rees, Goodman and Castello (Maybe 3rd). Do you really want EVERY ND player to see meaningful action?
  18. I would imagine D II or D III... Remember.. this is a back up at a JUCO who was a backup in HS... not a realistic option... I hope he never sees the field unless is in mop up duty.
