  1. They have one week. Next team up is waaay better than Louisville.
  2. I just don’t understand how he is ND’s OC. This coaching staff is going to bury ND as a football destination if ND goes 8-4 again.
  3. Looks like it will be another 8-4 season. Just so hard to believe, given the talent on this team.
  4. I'm spoiled. I believe ND has a really really good team. Just need consistency of effort by everyone on every play. So, I want to see a score in the realm of ND 40, Louisville 20. Because I believe it's possible and should be the outcome. But, Vegas has ND by 6.5. Meh. What do those guys know anyway? Maybe they're paying the ACC refs to keep it close? 😉
  5. That may be one of the best ND football videos I've ever seen! Thank you for posting it!
  6. ACC with 5 teams in the top 25, and Clemson isn’t one of them. What the what?
  7. Just can't have a let down after losing the biggest game of the year. Smash Duke by 30 points. At Duke. Hard to imagine a let down at Clemson. Always going to be a big game and big game environment. Louisville won't be a piece of cake either.
  8. Win the interval. Every interval. Including field goals. Including having the personnel present on the field required for every play. Find a way to make ACC refs treat ND fairly. Though, that's probably asking too much.
  9. Don't overlook this interval. Just win the interval. Duke is no push-over.
  10. Why doesn't everyone do what the Philadelphia Eagles do on 4th and 1? I've seen it done some at the college level, and more at the pro level. Seems like it works every time. I know you need to have the personnel to make it work, but I think ND has the personnel.
  11. Typing this 4 hours after the game, so I’ve calmed down. Finally. One of the BEST college football games I’ve seen in a while. ND can play with any team. Finally. Just need a damn good QB. Al Golden is a good DC. But he has a nasty habit of calling the wrong D in critical situations. Only rushing three during the final drive was terrible. Made a critical mistake against them last year too. No excuse for having 10 men on the field the last two plays. None. And whichever player should have been out there, well, there’s probably at least a little responsibility there too. I don’t think this hurt recruiting one bit. The atmosphere was electric the entire weekend. Much much much more green than red in the stands. Having tuned in to ESPN on Friday, the sea of people behind them was quite the sight. Saturday morning was even better. An amazing game. ND lost but I don’t think that will factor into their decisions. Even recruits who are considering Ohio State and go to their best, most important home games for their official visits probably will remember the atmosphere of this absolutely tremendous game more than the outcome. And as their parents walked around campus during the day on this gorgeous first day of fall, they had to feel it. They saw the fans, saw the sights, then saw the inside of the stadium during this tremendous game. Those parents will sell that to their kids. Now if ND compete on the NIL field, they’ll be fine. Brian Kelly would never have had this team this prepared for this game. I haven’t been sold on Freeman. But this game made me believe he is the guy who can get ND to a championship. Maybe not with Golden though. Ohio State waaaayyyyyy out-recruits ND every year. By a mile. Or ten. ND had this game in its grasp until the final play. No one on this board has seen an ND team so prepared for a game of this magnitude for a generation at least. At least. I am soooo disappointed by this outcome. But it shows me that ND can finally compete with any team. And I haven’t been able to say that since Holtz strolled the sidelines. Finally.
  12. I don’t understand rushing three on that play. HATE that defensive call.
  13. I’ll be the voice of dissent. Nope. Do it when you beat #1 USC, for instance. But not against a non-rival not ranked in the top three. I get that everyone wants to beat OSU. And that they are a perennial top 5 team. But ND isn’t Purdue. ND has been to the playoffs. They should expect to win. Act like it. Having said that, I’ll be delighted to see it happen Saturday night.
  14. Those are terrible fans. I hope they at least don’t jack up the wrist band light show. That sound like it could be very cool.
  15. Clemson fans are awesome. At least they were at the playoff game. Terrific, really.
  16. I love hoping that teams above ND lose. But, having witnessed ND getting absolutely hammered in the championship game and in the playoff game, I'm now hoping that ND is really good and deserving of being in those games. I no longer want luck. I want ND dominance. Show it on the field. Leave no doubt to anyone who didn't even see the game, just looked at the score. Beat Ohio State by 10. Then beat USC and Clemson, and do not lose to any other team (and Duke is looking tougher each week btw). Leave. No. Doubt. I do believe this may be the best ND team in the last 15 or so years. But they still have to earn it. And if they do earn it, don't get embarrassed again.
  17. Will there be a Pyne sighting in the ASI/USC game? That’s another reason to tune in. But, he hasn’t been starting and hasn’t done well when put in so far this year.
  18. I’m sure Deion will be in the ear of many recruits. And his son has an NIL deal in which he is now driving a Maybach.
  19. I swear it feels like watching ND’s offense last year. Hand off, run up the middle. Repeat. Sacked. Punt. Rees might be a nice guy, speak well. But as an OC? Last year there was quite a debate about whether Rees was not a good OC, or whether he didn’t have a good QB. I find it impossible to believe that Alabama doesn’t have a workable QB. Simpson was rated 98, #4 QB, coming out of high school. Milton was rated 94, #14 QB his year. Buchner was rated 95, # 10 QB his year. We know Buchner has limitations. I still believe this is a Tommy issue.
  20. Buchner replaced by Simpson. 3-3 at the half. Think BK had purple face? Would LOVE to see Saban in the locker room right now.
  21. Watching Deion on Gameday…pretty awesome. Off-the-charts charisma. Also goes out of his way to acknowledge and thank, by name, coaches and others. So darn compelling.
  22. Prediction: ND: 38. CMU: 17 Feeling/fearing an Irish let-down this week. Not bad enough to lose, but enough that the starters have to play late into the 4th quarter.
  23. Gotta see the Buchner/Rees combo with a little Saban flavoring mixed in. Must-see TV. Rees will HAVE to do better under Saban than he did at ND. Saban will can him at 6 games if the offense is not performing. Rees really has built quite a personal coaching tree for himself. Not long until he becomes a head coach somewhere if for no other reason than that.
