In watching the 30 for 30 Film, the priceless part was when they showed Lou Holtz and Jimmy Johnson (and others) watching the touchdown that brought Miami to within 1 (31-30). Lou's reaction is priceless... "You gotta be kidding me. You gotta be kidding me.. Damn guy ain't going to heaven, that official, I'll tell you that".
It's obvious NOW that Andre Brown never actually caught the touchdown to bring them to the 2-pt conversion that we all remember. In fact, Jimmy Johnson, Dan Lebetard, Steve Walsh, and Leon Searcy all look at that touchdown with skepticism. In fact, Searcy concludes that "Today, that would be incomplete. Game Over. Notre Dame wins."
The beautiful day, the hype, the buildup, and the ultimate drama of the 2-pt conversion make this my favorite game I have ever attended. How I yearn for a rivalry as intense as the Miami one. How I yearn for a Notre Dame like that now.
The documentary was well done. Kudos to O'Malley Creadon Productions.
