Who is hating on Bauer? But if we're going to talk on Bertrand, let's talk on Bauer. Hes a 5th year senior and still hasnt nailed down a starting spot. He couldn't beat out an undrafted free agent. He overruns a lot of plays and lacks discipline. Hes a better athlete than JD so I hope he cleans up the other part of his game. That would be great. But he hasn't done it in 4 years

I just said I predicted him to be the 3rd behind watts and Henderson. I dont have to go back and read it. They are still much more athletic than him but he is dependable and they haven't taken a jump yet. It would be best for the D if they did because they offer more athleticism. I dont think there is anyway they are going to tell an 8 game starter at guard he has no chance to compete for a spot this year. Thats why they moved him to right for fall camp. Thats my opinion and I believe it to be correct. Either way I think we are setup well on the 2nd team at guard regardless of who is 3 or 4 at this point. Hoping Baker can take a huge step so he can be the number 3 tackle and play if there is an injury to either guy.

No I didnt. I thought he'd be 3rd man behind Henderson and Watts. He still might be 3rd but behind Joseph and Henderson. Right now he's 2nd. Hes solid but the other 2 havent taken the jump I thought they would yet I think Lugg will start but he's not locked in like Patterson. And if he struggles he'd have a quicker hook than Patterson. That's why Kristofic being over there tells me a lot. There's zero chance Patterson is in a battle at all

I'm comparing Brown to Griffith and who we have right now. Is he good enough to start at Alabama, nope. They have better safeties. I'm comparing him to who we have. Brown is a starter for us Lugg wasnt good last year. Period. He got pushed back so many times, he got blown past, he got no push in the run game. He got moved inside because hes not good enough at tackle and is a better fit at guard. If pff thought he was good last year, what everyone says about them is true, they are terrible at rating players He is far from a lock like Patterson. Patterson is a top 2 rd pick, hopefully Lugg can get drafted late or stick on in FA. If Spindler gets moved over to RG this spring that will mean he's pushing to start and has passed up Kristofic. If he doesnt, he is still behind Schrauth and Spindler may be starters next year, who knows right now. We're taking this season. Spindler is the number 4 guard right now. That could change quick but that's the way it is
