  1. Here is the article. Crazy. https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2019/01/inside-alabama-intel-on-steve-sarkisian-chip-long-and-butch-jones.html?outputType=amp&__twitter_impression=true
  2. Don’t think Clemson has a choice here. This would be a ncaa suspension.
  3. I hopped on the fire BK bandwagon after the 4-8 year as well. Honestly though that coach deserved to be fired. He had completely lost the team. He’s a new coach now. That season seemed to have humbled him enough to take a step back and reevaluate everything he’s doing with the program. Credit him for that. I believe the program is stable enough now that even in a down year we’ll win 9-10 games.
  4. Leaving ND in will be the choice that creates the least amount of chaos. It’s VERY easy to explain why an undefeated ND would get in over a 12-1 Michigan when ND beat them. You would have zero credibility if you put in Michigan. They had their chance against our back up QB and lost.
  5. I totally agree with you here. I might be wrong, but I feel like Polian’s first tenure with the team was some of our worst special teams play. I think it’s obvious that the only reason he’s here is to recruit.
  6. Agreed. The committee isn’t trying to keep ND out. If you look at every other teams message board they would tell you the opposite is true. Our schedule may not look great at the end of the year, but that Michigan win will. I also think part of the decision is did you TRY to test yourself and we clearly did. Other teams have just had disappointing seasons.
  7. BK really seems to have the program in a good position. You can call it luck if you want, but he did take us to the title game in ‘12 and has had us at least in the conversation in ‘15, ‘17, and again this year. This season will define him though. We’ll be favored in every game the rest of the way. Can he keep the team focused enough to not have any slip ups? I think he can and I don’t see a fall off coming any time soon with how we’ve recruited.
  8. Not sure where the rumor started, but all the barstool guy said was that he’s hearing terrible news out of ND. So Ian Book’s name and the rumor of cheating was put out somewhere else. Not that it matters much, but it is interesting that someone else posted the rumor and he was hearing terrible news at the same time. He was the first to report Book starting against Wake.
  9. This backfield reminds me of three guys. Cierre Wood (Dex), Theo Riddick (Jafar), and Robert Hughes (Jones). I love the versatility. At different points of the game each backs strengths can be utilized to our advantage.
  10. I think this is going to be a close one, but with Stanford coming off an emotional OT win and playing back-to-back tough road games I think we get the win. ND 27 Trees 23
  11. I’m not claiming to have inside sources. Like I said I heard it on a podcast (Behind the Bets) where one of the hosts who has claimed to know some people inside the football program before said he’s hearing whispers about it. Then I searched on twitter and another guy was claiming it as well. Could be BS, but I’m just relaying what I heard.
  12. Saw on Twitter (from a guy who has about 400 followers) and heard on an ESPN podcast that there are whispers that Book will start or at least have a much bigger role in the game Saturday.
  13. Has ND ever lost a game without calling for a coaching change? Lol. We’ve seen flashes of what this offense can be and I’m hesitant to give up on Wimbush, but if he can’t consistently move us down the field against this defense then we need to make a change. Having the constant threat of him running is great, but I think this offense would run much smoother with a QB who can make the correct reads quickly, getting the ball out quickly to our TEs and big WRs.
  14. Very nervous for this game. Wake has an extra two days to rest and prepare for us at home with a noon kickoff. Going to be a lot of plays run this game with their up tempo offense. Will we be exhausted by the 4th quarter? I do expect our offense to look much better looking at how easy BC moved the ball against them. We need to keep our foot on the gas and keep scoring while we’re ahead which we haven’t been able to do.
  15. OL has looked much better so far opening up holes for our RBs.
  16. I can’t see us coming out flat again. I do think Vandy has a decent team this year and had we won easily against Ball St this game would worry me more, but I would expect an open play book and more of a Michigan performance. Probably a 34-17 type game.
  17. During his PC after the game the first thing Kelly did was blame himself for not having the team prepared. I do ageee with the rest of your comments though. I don’t know if it’s Wimbush or the play calling, but every time we play a bad team it seems like he holds on to the ball way too long trying to hit the deep pass. Our line isn’t good, but the ball should be out in 3-4 seconds.
  18. The RBs are part of the problem, but more than that it’s the OL. I knew we’d miss Mcglinchey and Nelson, but I still thought we’d be solid there. We should have dominated their DL.
  19. Biggest concern for me is our run game. We had a couple long runs, but otherwise they completely shut us down. I don’t care if they ran a 3-4. Our consistentsy in the run game was our strength last year. It seems like they told Wimbush not to run today which affects it a little, but still very disappointing.
  20. I thought TJ looked really good against Michigan. I’m not sure why he didn’t get the carries that Jafar did.
  21. This game has 23-20 written all over it. The key IMO will be establishing our short passing game with RBs and tight ends. Don’t get behind on down and distance. Control field position. Every once in awhile when they get lulled asleep with runs and short passes take a shot down field. Defensively we just need to stay solid. Force them to make long drives. Of the 10 games Patterson has started, he has 4 games with multiple interceptions.
  22. It’s mainly scheduling IMO. I think Kelly is a good coach, but we really only have 1-2 gimme games every year. It’s tough for a team to play well every single week. We’re preparing for a spread team one week, a pro style team the next, and an option team after that. On top of that we’re taking everyone’s best shot. Other teams will dive deep in their play book to try to catch us off guard. Also, after we lost to Miami I think the tream was dejected as they really had nothing to play for anymore.
  23. I don’t really know what to expect. Is USC going to be good? Florida State? Both of those teams underachieved last year, but have a lot of talent. Can Wimbush be consistent enough to win big road games like Va Tech? Avoid a trap game against Northwestern? I’m going to say we’ll go 10-2. I think we’ll be a very good team, but there’s too many games that we have little room for error.
  24. Yeah this doesn’t seem like a big deal. Starting workouts at 5:30 instead of 6. Telling the team they have to show up to voluntary workouts. Giving a kid $300 instead of $40 to take a recruit out. I’d be surprised if anything comes of this.
  25. If Coleman is actually performing as well as BK says then we really have no holes on defense. This team is deep at all positions too. There’s going to be some really good players that won’t see a lot of playing time.
