  1. Would winning an NC this year be tainted since a lot of teams will not even have a chance to get to get to the playoffs.
  2. Agreed, but we'll see how he does with as many starts as Book has. Also, he has half the talent at BC then Book does with ND.
  3. PJ effectively was benched, along with long, after the Michigan game. It was VERY apparent Rees was not going to play, even in mop up time. In my opinion I think he got a raw deal. Especially after he announced he was transferring and Book tweets, "The circle gets tighter" and Rees pounds the like button. Pretty classless for a coach and a captain in my opinion. I think he would have stayed even if he know Book was still starting, but Rees made it clear he was never getting a shot. I don't blame him one iota for transferring and hope he does great. Definitely more upside then Book.
  4. Ummmmmm, Book as three more years than PJ. Book as an OL, Book has great TE's. We'll see who's in the NFL in three years. Also, PJ is higher rated QB in CFB with half the talent. Not saying he's not better than PJ right now, but Book is not an elite QB, and never will be.
  5. Let's see how Phil is in three years. FYI, as of date PJ is rated higher than Book.
  6. Chips offense, subtract Michigan, last year was very good. They averaged a lot higher points per game then this year, and a much harder scheduled. I think for sure it was personality clashes with other coaches. Chip pretty much after he Michigan game was nurtured and I don't believe Phil had any snaps after that. May be a couple. But it was VERY apparent that Phil was done at ND and he was not Rees' boy. Ian Book is Rees' boy. Which was VERY apparent when Phil announced his transfer and Ian tweeted "and the circle gets smaller", and Rees pounded the like button. Very unbecoming of a QB captain, and the OC. BTW, Phil's QB coach at ND..... Rees. So if he wasn't developing that's where the buck stops.
  7. I disagree, ND has offered many elite 5 star players that have choose not to come to ND. I think it's more of the effort that you have to put in why you are here on academics, just as much as on the field. The Justin Fields etc... of the college world want to go to a school where they can work on their craft and get in the NFL. Heck, Justin Fields never even saw the inside of a Ohio State classroom, and that was before covid!!
  8. I think we've been just outiside the elite for years. Short a couple of elite players and an elite QB. One common denominator of the elite teams, is they have elite QB's. And sorry, Book had a good game against Clemson, but he's not elite. With an elite QB, we would have ran away with that game.
  9. Book played one of his best games against a top team. In the past he's been pretty bad. We get it, he's not an elite QB like both Clemson's QBs are. Now, can he be as consistent? I hope so, there's still a long way to go. But I was more than happy to eat some Ian Crow!!
  10. As well he should have to. I couldn't think of one reason that he should get a waiver. I don't think that it's too cold and I miss my gf's honey pot is a valid reason.
  11. That's not really true. The SBPD is not as bad as you think. Like I said, the first visit is to address the noise complaint made by someone (Come on Golson, we know it was you), and they basically bust up the party. Then if you have a couple knuckle heads (enter Tommy, and Calo) who run, get mouty, resist, and assult, then it can get ugly quick.
  12. REally? If they just stayed put, the cops would have most likely just let them go with a warning. All they do is come in and say "party's over, don't have us come back or we will be arresting people". If you get a little mouthy with them, you get a underaged citation and you have to notify Du Lac. When you start running, that's when you get into trouble. VERY stupid move by Rees. He's still in the pokey btw waiting for what charges will be brought against him, and for bail to be set. A couple days there will learn him real quick.
  13. No, not everyone gets angry when they are drunk. I've never been angry drunk, never thought about assualting a cop when drunk. Drinking affects people in different ways. BTW, TR's BAC was .11, he was drunk. Also, I never heard anyone say that he battered the cop like Rodney King.
  14. You think the 1987/88 team were a bunch of choir boys? They weren't the downright thugs the Canes were though.
