    Tommy Rees

This is great news...congrats to Tommy!
  3. So they're feeling the bern in NH and making it great again with Trump. I thought the big news this week was Bloomberg pondering a run. Would love to see him run just cause he has more business respect than Trump and isn't a socialist.
  4. Yes and No. Yes because ND was riddled with injuries last year and one season can be a fluke. Let's give a coach more than one year to prove himself and allow players to learn and get comfortable with a defensive scheme. No because fans are so fickle that every season is an end-all-be-all and don't put enough emphasis on players, development and a long term plan. Charlie Weis goes 5-2 in year 1 and seems to save ND from the depths...give him a 10 year contract! Entire defense is injured and ND ranks 40th in scoring defense and 45th in yards (Top 40s!!) and we want to fire Van Gorder. Not making much sense... Final point is Steve Kerr wins a title in year 1. Awesome coach. Hasn't coached at all this year due to health and GS is on track for most wins ever and another title. Luke Walton is the greatest coach of all time????? You get my point
  5. This year Bama got 5 five stars on Rivals...2-5 more than everyone else in the top 10 this year. They're the top ranked recruit class for the 7th time in the last 9 years. To put it in NFL terms....they basically have anywhere from 8-20 more first round picks on their team than any other team. They're def gonna get another 2-3 titles before Saban retires.
  6. So Clinton got 701 and Sanders got 697. Why such a pathetic democratic turnout when Cruz got 51,666? Or does that represent delegate votes or a caucus vote vs. actual people votes? I have no idea how this works.
  7. That is because employers are skirting Obamacare 30 hr limits and prefer flexible staffing. I feel bad for most workers who simply want to work one job 40-50 hrs/week.
  8. I love how everyone says this country is falling off a cliff. The drop has nothing to do with Obama and everything to do with China, oil and a correction (which markets are supposed to do!). I hope you all panic and sell low so I can buy on the downturn. Where else are you gonna invest? Communist/Thief China? Dictatorship Russia? Socialist Europe? Crashing Brazil? Corrupt Africa? How are those countries working out for ya? Quit being doom and gloom and realize we have some problems but America is a rich young country with tons of talent and natural resources under a great democracy.
  9. You mean Bernie? I saw he was polling equal or above Hillary in Iowa and New Hampshire. I would love if he won the Democratic nom simply to see Hillary's dreams crumble before her eyes...
  10. Anyone watching the State of the Union circus tonight? I wish the next president would just tell everyone to stop clapping, sit down and shut up. Instead it's a partisan pep rally.
  11. Having to deal with the scholarship limits (which I admit Bama gets around with grey shirts and Juco transfers), recruiting, early NFL enrollees, and parity in college football today where kids transfer if they're second string....Saban is definitely better than Leahy.
  12. Great game. Awesome onside kick play call and execution. Saban is the best coach of all time. Will likely pass Bear Bryant over the next 6 years.
  13. Agree. Hope he does well at next level but he did nothing at ND. Classic case of valuing potential more than actual production. Some guys just don't have the heart.
  14. Brendan Dassey Confession - Parts 1-3. He's guilty as hell. And so is Steven. I know they feed him some info (which was brilliantly edited in documentary) and you can tell he's a terrible witness cause he changes his story so much but if you watch....he takes long pauses when he's trying to hide stuff or doesn't remember. And then he answers really quickly with some great detail on other stuff that someone as dumb as him just couldn't make up (but I love how he said he read it in Kiss the Girls by James Patterson on the stand...riiiiiiiiiiiight...cause he's at that reading level.) 15. Animal cruelty is a big time correlation to other crimes like rape, murder, etc.
  16. Echo I agree with your points. Plenty of time and $36 million motive. I want to believe Avery is innocent. After watching the documentary I thought...He's 100% innocent. But taking a step back and thinking through the other evidence not shown in documentary and thinking how large the conspiracy/crime would have to be...from Manitowac to Calument to completely ignoring another killer. It just seems too large. I'd love to see an independent federal investigation and a trial outside of Maintowac.
  17. Echo - I think Lenk and Colburn are guilty as hell of planting evidence. Especially Lenk. And I agree Avery was not smart enough or clean enough to cover up that murder the way it was described. Which is why I think she was killed somewhere else. Maybe somewhere else on property or off the property completely. And he does seem pretty honest/talkative when he talks but I think someone capable of killing someone like that could have the split personality (jekyll/hyde). I also wondered why doesn't he get really pissed at Dassey when he "confesses" to a made up crime? Someone points the finger at you in a really bad way and you don't say WTF and yell at his mother? Remember that phone call with her taped from jail he's really calm and says "Well I didn't do it" If Avery didn't do it, then you think Lenk/Colburn found her car (possibly with her body in it), mutilated it, burned it and then scattered it all over Avery's property while planting all that evidence? They had to of done that. Cause there's no way a separate killer would be able to do that without the Avery's noticing.
  18. hahaha i literally said the same thing to my girlfriend about the Dassey phone calls. Yeah? yeah? And I hear ya about the reporter:
  19. How is there no thread on this yet? Awesome documentary. I binge watched it in 2 days and am watching it through again right now. Here's my theory so far after watching and reading the extra evidence not presented in the documentary: 1. Steven Avery is guilty BUT there are plenty of holes in the evidence. 2. Brendan Dassey was definitely falsely coerced into his confession. I think he knew what happened but was fed a lot of the info from the cops. I don't know if Dassey participated or not bc honestly he's so dumb and changes his story so many times I don't even think he knows what's going on. 3. The cops definitely planted some of the evidence (key, blood in the car, bullet in garage). The evidence was planted to make absolutely sure Avery was guilty given the $36M pending lawsuit. My guess is that Avery killed Teresa Halbach but not in the way that Dassey confessed. I mean there would be tons of blood everywhere in trailer and garage but there was none. But the phone calls, burning the cat, last one to see her, prior history, burning the body like the cat, etc. I mean there would have to be so much planning prior to the event for the cops to pin it on Avery. Unless the cops were watching Avery and then saw Halbach drive up and then snatched her and killed her themselves, burned her body and then scattered it over Avery's burn pit....I just don't see that happening though. Who knows...interesting to think about.
  20. How does everyone think the 2016 Rogue One movie will perform? Rumors are it's supposed to fall between episodes III-IV which would obviously have Darth Vader but then some other Rogue people before Luke/Leia/Han. Is this Disney trying to do too much? Excited? Don't care? I'm not sure what to think at this point myself.
  21. Is it the school or NCAA that pays premium for insurance policies? I assume in most cases the NCAA pays for these insurance policies? I saw where Winston's was paid for by FSU. http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/insurance/student-athlete-insurance-programs
  22. Here's a history of The Shirt. I found it interesting... http://theshirt.nd.edu/history/timeline/#2005
  23. Here's ND at home on gameday. I can't tell if it's a home crowd or not given we have a million different school colors. http://www.uhnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/notre-dame-stadium.jpg
  24. I liked the new star wars. Episodes IV-VI were awesome. Episodes I-III were just awful. George Lucas recently criticized the new movie because it wasn't creative enough. Old characters, same plot as IV, no new ships. Lucas claimed that he tried to make every movie with a new story, new characters and new ships/weapons that had never been seen before. In response, Episode VII was exactly what fans wanted. A little bit of old and a little bit of new. Han, Luke and Leia handing off the torch to a new group of characters in Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren and BB8. Casting was excellent. Comedic relief was great (loved the thumbs up between Finn and BB8). Abrams went back to using more puppets as opposed to 100% CGI. My only criticisms are that the ending plot of VII was waaaay too much like IV. Disabling a huge weapon to blow up the new Death star? c'mon. Also, Kylo Ren being Han/Leia's son? c'mon. I think writers could have been more creative than that. Kylo Ren shoulda left his helmet on in the final fight with Finn/Rey cause he looks cooler that way too. And my final criticism is that the Snoke looked like a Lord of the Rings character and the CGI monster that almost killed Finn looked way too fake (shoulda used a puppet). Same goes for the old lady bartender.
