    I never said great, just better. Buchners ball placement was pretty bad even on completions.

    Honestly Pyne is almost exactly a combination of Book/Rees. Not quite Book level as a runner and not quite Rees level as a game manager but Pyne likely has the best arm of the three if he's given room and windows to wind up.

    Pyne is going to steady the ship tomorrow with improved mid range accuracy. This will take defenders out of the box and open up Estime/Tyree in the running game. It's his first start so mistakes will happen, but I'll predict happy Irish pass catchers and a calm day for us fans finally. Two take-aways from the defense.. finally. Irish: 38 Cal: 17

    Those might of been the biggest offensive Tackles Foskey has faced to date, OSU had size advantage inside and it showed. I'm not worried about Mayer, we have to find other weapons or teams will continue to take him away with scheme.

    Strong take after a guys first start on the road vs #2 in the nation. I'm not saying he wins a Heisman ever or anything but my goodness, Buchner had more passing yards than Stroud at halftime. We fell apart in the second half as a whole and that is not solely on Tyler. If you think Pyne wins us this game, you must be his dad. Kids a different type of player than Buchner but he also has his shortcomings that Ohio State would of attacked. Neither one is elite at anything.

    Tyler is oficially our guy, we need him to be healthy, efficient and provide big plays. What are your expectations/predictions for him going into the season? Ideally he must be above 60% completion percentage. I would like to see a minimum of 3/1 TD to turnover ratio combined passing/rushing. 2,600+ yards passing and 500+ yards rushing would win us a lot of football games if we keep turnovers to a minimum. 10 Rushing TD 22 Passing TD

    Sorry to not keep this chatter in the Offensive Depth thread, felt Avery deserved his own headline at least. Idk if he would even be eligible for another year following this as he is a grad player already.
