...with the original post. I realized some time ago that I was being short and aloof with my own kids because of the Notre Dame game. Had to get some perspective. I still love what ND stands for, and will always follow and support the team. I finally realized, though, that what happens on a Saturday afternoon in Indiana has no real effect of my life (or at least it SHOULDN'T).
I also want to post a quick thank you to whoever posted yesterday that Nick Saban lost to UAB in year one at Bama and Les Miles lost to Louisiana-Monroe in his first year at LSU.
The sky is not falling, IMHO, it just feels like it sometimes. I truly believe that Coach Kelly IS the right person for this job and this school. I hoped like all of you that he could pull a rabbit out of his arse and fix things NOW, but I really believe we just have to be patient. Better times are ahead. While Coach Kelly has made some seemingly unthinkable errors, he will learn quickly. To paraphrase Ara, Brian Kelly will need every one of his 20 years as a head coach to be even remotely prepared for Notre Dame. Even WITH those 20 years, though, it will take time but he WILL succeed!
Again, better times are ahead, but they are a few miles down the road still...
And now, I'm going to carve pumpkins with my kids. See you all in 2 weeks.
Go Irish!
