  1. I’m quite familiar. True freshman with zero meaningful snaps. I reject that he’s currently super elite and that the Irish don’t gain an advantage if Lawerence can’t go.
  2. Anyone know what’s up with Jack Lamb? I expected him on the 2 deep at least.
  3. http://broylesaward.com/2018-finalists/ Alabama OC Mike Locksley got the Maryland HC job and guess who’s name is popping up in every article I have read to replace him. Hell even before our 12-1 season this year Alabama was after him. https://www.953mnc.com/2018/01/19/report-notre-dame-offensive-coordinator-rejects-overtures-alabama/ But I’m sure you know better than Saban.
  4. What are you talking about???? Sanford was fired as Head Coach of Western Kentucky like 3 weeks ago and just recently got the Utah St oc position. I agree he was good for us but he left to try head coaching. And if you don’t want Chip Long anymore I’m sure there’s a long line of SEC schools that will take him off our hands, including Bama. Simply put, top 3 offensive coordinator in the country.
  5. Seriously???? We're pissing on him for picking up the phone and going to bat for one of his coaches?? An awesome guy who has a chance to be head coach at his alma mater? Who would ever come work for BK if he refused to do this?
  6. Any bowl projection for ND is a fart in the wind. ACC tier 1 pools are having a lottery to see who gets us. We'll find out Sunday. Like it or not, declining a bowl invite is not on the table. Belk vs. SEC Gator vs. SEC Sun vs. Pac12 Auburn, Georgia, A&M, Missouri, LSU all possible opponents. Outside chance it's South Carolina. If Sun wins we get Utah because the other options are rematches ASU, Stanford, USC Pinstripe is reportedly not in the lottery.
  7. I wouldn't put much stock in the majority of the projections out there, most of the major guys aren't too well versed in all the tie-ins. ACC (and ND) Bowl tie-ins go like this 1.Playoff 2.Orange Bowl 3.Russell Athletic Bowl 4.Tier 1 Pool (Belk,Gator(Taxslayer),Pinstripe,Sun) First off I see Florida State winning out and getting to the playoff. Next up the Orange Bowl still gets and ACC team but remember the committee gets to pick. I personally see GTech losing their last 2 games (Georgia,Florida St) and falling out of the Orange. That leaves Clemson and Louisville so if you think Clemson can beat South Carolina then you would put them in the Orange, I think they are going to lose that and Louisville goes to the Orange. Next up Russell Athletic Bowl, they want and need Notre Dame, newish sponsors, new stadium, they want us. But if we go 7-5 then they can't have us with GTech and Duke both at 9 wins we have to be within 1. So beating USC and getting to 8-4 gets us there unless you really think they would select Duke or Gtech over us. But since its unlikely we get to 8 wins, I see GTech there. Next is the most likely scenario assuming you believe like me that USC is going to stomp us. The Belk, Gator, Pinstripe, and Sun Bowl officials actually all get in a room together on selection day and decide who gets who. There is no hierarchy, no rules, they break out the single malt and wheel and deal and argue. I expect that to be a fight for ND and Clemson/Louisville. I just don't see Pinstripe or Sun winning in that room. Jack and BK will have some input, I'm sure, so I just think its down to Belk and Gator. If Clemson is still there natural fit is to the Belk in Carolina and us to the Gator. If its Louisville who knows. I'm just guessing based on my other picks that they Gator gets us. The only other wrinkles are that the Gator could just take a B1G team instead then the Music City Bowl would be in that room instead. And if Michigan St. gets ahead of all the non-playoff SEC teams then they would get to the Orange against ACC and the Citrus Bowl would get a ACC team, but that would likely have to be Duke at 9 wins. So heres how I see it Florida State - playoff Louisville - Orange Bowl Georgia Tech - Russell Athletic Bowl Clemson - Belk Bowl Notre Dame - TaxSlayer Bowl (Gator) vs. SEC Duke - Pinstripe Bowl Miami - Sun Bowl Just a prediction, could be wrong, who knows what will happen in that room.
  8. Family says he hasn't passed yet. This thread is premature, lets not push the man into his grave before he dies.
  9. It was 73 here in South Bend on Wednesday.
  10. I am looking forward to seeing next year's team as well. Jerian Grant is Harvey Grant's son and Horace Grant's nephew. Horace has 4 NBA rings from his time with the Chicago Bulls in the 90's. He is supposed to be pretty good. Him and Atkins gives a nice athletic front court. It will be tough to absorb the losses of Ben and Nash but there are 5 more bench guys that could command playing time next year in Grant, Brooks, Broghammer, Dragivich, and Knight...not to mention the true frosh coming in Connaughton. So I don't think they can duplicate the success of this years team at this point but they might be the deepest team of guys that can contribute that Brey has had. The big question will be can anyone be a good leader next year because their 2 best this year are graduating.
  11. About an hour from game time and I can't shake this feeling that we are just simply better than UConn and we are going to put it to them in their house! I do realize I could be wrong, so no need to rub it in if I am.
  12. Just my 2 cents. We have 1 more regular season game @UCONN then we will have at least 1 game in the Big East tourney. If we lose both of those games I still think we get a #3 seed in the dance. If we win 1 of those games it locks us into a #2 seed IMO. The only way I think we can get the #1 seed is if we win out, which would include @UCONN and the Big East Tourney, we would be 28-5 and champs of the Big East. I think the most important thing is finishing ahead of Wisconsin in the selection committees S-curve because that would put us in Chicago in the first round of the dance, which would be $$$$.
