  1. I agree it sucks… But c’mon now. It is easy to get caught in the moment… But come Monday… You get back to grinding, stack a more clean performance against Duke. And then go get USC. Everything is still ahead of this team if you win October 14th.
  2. Thanks for the bump! Just needing a solo at the moment. 🙂 Thanks to Jack we have our three needed. Was just looking to possibly add one to allow my aunt to tag along with my uncle. But if not no worries at all.
  3. I've been monitoring the secondary market pretty closely for the Ohio State game.. I'd say judging by the total number of listings, not a lot of tickets actually changed hands. There have only been roughly 500 listings or so on SeatGeek for that game.. Usually there are quite a bit more. For reference Wake has nearly 700 listed and two weeks ago Tennessee State had about double that. Not to mention the ask price on secondary right now drives up the price per ticket to well over $600.. I'd say that should keep a lot out.
  4. I'm with you JBrown.. Even if Colorado and Oregon are unbeaten... The fact they chose to go to see the Buffs this weekend pretty much confirms the crew will be in South Bend. The buzz next weekend is gonna be wild. I can't freaking wait.
  5. I do think there is some credence to the fact that ESPN wants to promote the matchups their invested in… But they still are vested in the ACC and a strong ND only helps them with future ABC/ESPN matchups… Now they have absolutely no vested interest in anything Big Ten at all, so yeah, I can see if Colorado Oregon is a marque game they could possibly opt for that… But still seems ridiculous an unbeaten matchup against two top 5 brands in all of college football wouldn’t be where they go.
  6. I like the comment above.. First true road game.. Playing clean is essential. You do that you don't have issues.. You play sloppy... Have penalties and turnovers, it could be a bumpy ride to the end.. I do think they play clean. I think 38-17 sounds fair. I think we see Marcus become more multiple on defense... Likely to stay fairly bland... But don't be surprised we don't see some mixing and matching of personnel. Maybe some varying 5 DB looks to see how it looks on film prior to the 23rd.
  7. Good point tneun… I didn’t even catch the Oregon Colorado matchup yesterday because I had the Top 25 filter on for both teams. And they’ll most definitely be ranked now. As bizarre as this sounds though… I could see Nebraska raining in Colorado’s parade this week. Nebraska isn’t afraid to muck it up and just run the ball 45 times. They should’ve beat Minnesota, just unraveled in typical Nebraska fashion.
  8. The Clemson loss takes some luster off of the FSU game. Ole Miss Bama is the only one with a chance. I could see them opting for an SEC game that they’ll be broadcasting over the NBC Primetime one.
  9. I may or may not have glanced ahead to the week 4 lineup… Obviously not putting the card before the horse, but assuming the same team we’ve seen in Week 1 & 2 or I guess it’s technically 0 & 1 shows up this weekend in Raleigh… It should be a top 10, maybe top 5, matchup in South Bend. The other two matchups it could be would be Ole Miss Alabama or Clemson Florida State… But heck, Clemson may not make it out of tonight. I’ve never been on the GameDay set… Just thought it’d be fun and add to the ridiculous buzz.
  10. Here’s where I’m at… The offense looks different, as much as Tommy’s offensive mind could scheme and gameplan… I think he got in his own way at times. Over thinking and trying to be precise with every single playcall. It is refreshing to feel like we have a play caller willing to just look at what he has and put his players in positions to make plays. I’m obviously partial to Marcus given my time with him but he’s as good as they get! This unit will continue to grow. I don’t know that they have an elite playmaker but they may be the best overall unit he’s had here. Sound. We will get to know a lot more in Raleigh this weekend.
  11. Trophy games are such an underrated part of college football. Seriously. Love them. Loved winning them in NCAA Football on the XBox growing up as a kid.
  12. Lol. It’s about like watching Louisville, Virginia, Boston College and Duke.
  13. Just bumping this so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. 🙂 If anyone has tickets feel free to share them out. I'm working this weekend and again next weekend.. But am going to be in Chicago and South Bend the weekend of the Ohio State game.. And considering driving over to NC State.. Is anyone else going to Raleigh?
  14. JOK is a solid choice.. I guess because of his injury last year with the Browns I kind of forgot about him... But yeah, I'm on board.. Seems like I just want one game changer on defense really bad. But the thing about D is that if you have 11 solid pieces, then you're setup to play great team defense and get the results. To which I think as the year progresses we can see someone like Watts develop into that back end star with more reps and confidence.
  15. You make a good point that the offensive fire power with Mayer would be insane... And playoff worthy. Jaylon is a great one. His athleticism in that level with Marcus' scheme would have been a great pair. But yeah, DL controls so much of the game. One guy can wreck a gameplan.
  16. I actually think this was more so the soft technique... I think I know exactly what you're talking about.. To me and without being in the huddle it felt like guys were bailing long on their drops. Making it appear like we were in soft cover 6, when in reality it was a cover 3 but because the under zone drops were so deep your eyes were tricking you. Obviously last week was a joke of an offense because you had no threat to throw the ball whatsoever.. I'll keep an eye on this, really in the NC State week because I think that'll be the first offense we see that we'll truly have to respect both run/pass.
  17. A buddy and I were chatting... And while the question that was brought up doesn't really help at all.. It did give me some good insights as to how I feel about this team. The question that was posed to me, if you could add one current NFL Irish to this year's team, who would it be? And I immediately went to two guys... Kyle Hamilton or Isaiah Foskey. Which tells me.. I really don't have any concerns at all on the offensive side of the ball. I mean I guess Mayer would be cool, but I don't think he makes the team any better. The only thing I'm really wanting to see is a game changer on the defensive side of the ball... Someone who can flip a game on its head by making an elite play. Am I on the right track here? What would your guys addition be?
  18. Good point Faith.. I think you need to get it some game speed... I'll be honest, I played/coached on the defensive side of the ball.. And there are always things you want to workout when playing different personnel groups. Now, that being said.. You can be extremely bland in what you put on tape.. Like lets say you go with a 4-2-5 look... Only show base Cover 1, 2 or 3... Save the blitzes and gap variations for your higher leverage situations.. I mean the NC State game you probably wanna see a couple of the things you're planning to put in the follow week. But to you point.. I think I do wanna see different packages on the defensive side of the ball.
  19. Oh man... Conference realignment... What a can of worms that is... But I'll be honest.. I've found myself warming up to this. Lets be honest there was only a third of FBS who's legit competing for National Titles... So why not make two or three super conferences and then sprinkle in a couple of the lesser champs into the 16 team (there is no way 12 team makes any sort of sense, just go 16 team already) playoff. I saw an interesting proposal that implemented English Premier League type relegation. I don't know.. A lot to still work itself out.. And I'm actually not in the doom and gloom crowd anymore. I think it has potential. If at some point ND does need to make a decision on aligning with a conference (I think this may come to a point of inevitability)... Give me the Big Ten. I've seen where with a 24 team conference they'd go to 11 conference games with 1 non conference. Love that idea. Think about this schedule Game 1: One of the military academies in Dublin again. Game 2: Purdue Game 3: at Michigan State Game 4: at Indiana Game 5: Penn State Game 6: Nebraska Game 7: at Northwestern Game 8: Oregon Game 9: at Michigan Game 10: at Illinois Game 11: Wisconsin Game 12: USC That is a fun one.. That home lineup of Purdue, Penn State, Nebraska, Oregon, Wisconsin and USC is a fun one to think about.
  20. Yep, I get it… Trust me I do. I even said in the post game comment we won’t learn anything about this team at all against Tennessee State, but still going to tune in because it’s one of the 12 opportunities we get.
  21. Maybe we should get a Michigan fan on here to ask them how it was with an FCS team. Hahahaha. And they were a top 5 team at the time App State got them.
