    Impact of NIL on ND:

I think it's a wash.  Most teams that are any good are going to offer a lot of NIL money.  My guess is that the money is probably pretty equal at the bigger football schools, ND being one of those.  With the portal being what it is, players can come and go and still get paid.

    Impact of NIL on me:

Hate it.  I had 3 kids that I paid full price to get degrees from expensive name-brand schools, including a Masters at ND.  I work hard for the money, so hard for it honey, but no one treats me right.  I HATE that players can make hundreds of thousands of dollars and still get their tuition paid, while hard-working families pay full freight for their kids to go to the school.  I'm a little hot under the sports collar about that.

I get that it's the way of the world.  I just wish the generous alumni who fund NIL would instead fund scholarships.  That wouldn't help the team, but it sure would help a lot of people.  The team and school can find a way.  Individual families may not.

Slight nit, take the government out of guaranteed student loans.  Single handedly has been the biggest cause of soaring tuition and crushing debt for borrowers.

Otherwise I'm in between as far as NIL.  It's chaos currently and we are still in Flux with the changes that have happened and stuff that's still to come.  We are far from settled in this shifting landscape of college athletics.

That's exactly it.  Notable difference.  The QB recruiting in the social media world seems to be the key.  CJ and Deuce are both really active on other targets socials.  Golden just said Deuce was in his ear and it was a big reason.  They're forming teams to win a natty.  Of course it's not only about NIL.

As to track, I think it goes along with the higher level recruits that they are more commonly one sport, pro focused.  2nd sport being track, only as football training and to get times recorded for their profile.  Even the big guys run sprints just to work speed and get official times.  I doubt we'll see any distance runners.

Hey distance to us linemen is anything past 10 yards...

  3. Got to looking at OT Jackson Cantwell, kid is a mammoth.  Winning a state title in shot put as a freshman.  Of course his dad got a silver medal at the '08 Olympics, so the bloodlines are there.  He'll easily be one of the most sought after recruits in his class.

Ausberry, Zinter, Bowen, KVA already here.  Loaded room.  Sounds great!  Maybe they'll switch to some revolutionary new defense - like a 1-7-3.

Alright then!  Need to find Andre the Giant part deux to man the middle, space eat, and take on a whole OL.  🤣

I am not claiming to have any real sources.....but I can say that someone who I find incredibly accurate, honest, and "in-the-know" told me right after it happened that there was an incident that was a big enough deal that it warranted his firing. He said "they decided that it was in the best interested of the school and coach Freeman to have what amounts to a mutual separation with the Stucky and other parties that were involved" and that "everyone agreed to keep it on the DL in order to reduce impact on future opportunities".

I asked for the inside scoop (and guessed around a bit) and got only enough info to make a pretty confident guess that Stucky and the players that left were all involved.

...again, no real sources and just making a guess based on limited information from a very trustworthy person.

Ties into the pot theory I guess.

How this dude still gets paid to talk is beyond me…he is wrong on so many topics, yet nobody holds him accountable…. It’s amazing.  I should create a website that lists these guys’ statements and then lists the actual result…. You’ll find that so many of them are overpaid morons.

This is true for all MSM, it's the norm and also why they are dying.  I barely watch any ESPN unless it's a particular college FB game or when the NCAA wrestling championships are on.

    - Lange is considered the best '25 OL prospect by some out of the 4, but it is debatable for sure.

    - There are a couple names for sure and Vines-Bright is definitely a possibility, but Meadows is the biggest 1st round draft pick potential out of the WRs. I am not a huge fan of having Burress, Terry, and Bettis Jr (who is likely to commit soon) so early with other big names on the board, but we shall see.

    - Shanklin, I would honestly like to see something from him soon, I fear the longer his recruitment goes on, the worse it is for ND, but I do think ND is currently the team to beat as well. As for CB, it isnt just Zachary, they lead for Dallas Golden as well (ND is recruiting him as a CB), who I think could be the best of an elite DB haul. Devin Williams is also someone they are in the top 2 for.

    - Owusu-Boatang is a long way off of making any decision. I could see him announcing at an All-Star game and ND will be fighting an uphill battle. We shall see, I am not optimistic right now, but I haven't heard much from the kid since he LOVED his ND visit. I am surprised ND made Faraimo's final 4. Havent heard much about him other than he is very good, but that probably means ND is liked by the guy, but wont be #1 in the end, I think he stays out West.

Since Faraimo us going to play half his games in the Midwest anyhow, might as well make the move lol.
