Franco
Dayne Crist that is....he has moved up to 5-star status per scout.com... so according to scout, Notre Dame now has four 5 stars with one more coming (Floyd)... http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=109&p=9&c=8&yr=2008 edited the title, didn't want to raise anyone's hopes
dangeruss
im not a big fan of scouts.com but you got to hand it to them, they know a 5-star player when they see one. ethan johnson and kyle rudolph are no brainers, with dayne crists perfomance at the ellite 11 camp proved worthy of 5 star status but im not sure filler is a 5-star player. Franco
i know what you mean russ, i usually follow rivals' rankings, but with no new recruiting news for the past few weeks, i've been dying, and this is just something to wet the taste buds

Ray Herring
Rivals is too stingy with their 5 stars. From what I can tell, the only difference between their high 4's and 5's is the offer list. It is almost like for a prospect to be a 5 star, they have to pretend they are wide open for the entire season to garner as many offers as possible. dangeruss
Rivals is too stingy with their 5 stars. AGREED! its like they can only give out so many each year and after that cut off line everyone else is a 4 star.
Guest NDGirlzRock
FWIW I truly believe that Dayne is a 5* and should have been all along.
Rockne3d
I'm not a big Scout guy but I think they got it right with Crist. I think Rivals is much better on their rankings. I always like how Rivals usually has less than 30 5 stars on their football rankings. this year they have 29 5 star football recruits. But what I never understood is that Rivals has 28 5 star basketball players. Since basketball has more than 75% less starters (not counting special teams) it would make sense to me that the upper echelon would differ on numbers for the 2 sports. Maybe I am just looking at that wrong. I would not want to see more 5 star football players, I guess i would just expect that there would only be about 20 5 star basketball players. Guest mpstunner11
Also - I think that basketball recruits are a little easier to scout than football recruits. five stars in basketball often make an immediate impact, whereas in football, it can take a few more years.
