i KNEW AA was gonna get some PT but it seems like he might pushing to get some serious time, if one goes by what we've seen and heard so far...plus, my other frosh "pick to click" neal, sounds like he's looking at some serious PT as well...ian and b. smith too maybe?

Sounds like DD is gonna be the starter.

^^I guess I should have read that before I said DD would start.

yeah, irish21, i specifically didn't mention anything about the qb situation cuz i'm fairly sure CW is putting up a lot of smokescreens there...

BUT the other positions are maybe a little easier to read a bit. and it sure seem like this incoming class' speed is going to get them on the field early. you've already heard about AA but now we hear about tate on kick returns and CW saying he likes his frosh receivers, well, let's just say i'm so FREAKIN' excited, i don't know what i'm gonna do for the next 3 weeks!! :D :D :D :D

my wife is already "seeing the signs," as she calls it!

Im too excited. I wont be able to sleep for like a whole week before the Tech game. I swore I wouldnt wish away my summer counting down the days till ND plays, but I cant help it, Im too excited.

Even JA looked good on the one run he got.He hit the hole nicely. And I agree I can't wait to see all this speed hit the field.

Quarterback recruit Dayne Crist was in attendance. Crist is already bigger than any quarterback Notre Dame has on its roster.

DAMN

Growing boy going into his senior yeAR :D

Robert Hughes is a bunch to handle. He has good cutting ability and has size to run over people. At first glance, he looks a little bit like former Florida State running back Greg Jones. He also showed elusiveness and the ability to get to the corner. Between Allen and Hughes, Notre Dame has two really good looking backs for the future.

That is what a solid recruiting staff does for a progam - keep the cubboard full

Question, please...Dayne Crist, does he pay out his own pocket to visit South Bend? Man...this year recruits are really showing the love for the Irish.

Nice articles guy's. Thank you.

Burkhart 0-4? He's still young, but having 2 scholarship kickers who aren't exactly light it up is scary!

In my opinion, Evan looks the most confident and consistant throwing the ball from today's practice video.

"How much fullbacks Asaph Schwapp and Luke Schmidt will actually play in one-back or spread schemes is uncertain, but there should be no trepidation with them on the field either. Schwapp would make any college football “all-guns” team with the size of his arms."

I liked what he said, about Schwapps arms. "All-Guns" Team. Hopefull he will be healthy all season so he can use them.

i think we can safely say that his season's backfield will rival *almost* any backfield from one of the prime holtz years! i know that seems almost sacrilegious or at the very least, hyperbolic to compare them but really if you go down the line including the FB's, it is really, amazingly, deep and talented. wow. :D

i went to the fan app. day, and i hope to have my pictures up this week for you guys. I say that Brandon Walker will be our FG kicker, he almost hit a 45yrd one in practice, although Nate Whitaker hit it, he missed the close ones wide. Ryan Burkheart will likely be the kickoff man.

In the WR race, i think it's anyones game, Gallup, Kamara, Tate, Parris, Jackson, and Hord all made very good grabs.

If you guys think AA is fast, wait until you see him in person...wow. He and Zibby both ran Punt Returns back for TD's, which the crowd applauded very loudly. I really think he will see a lot of PT. Hughes and Aldridge looked good also, but i see them behind AA on the depth chart.

On the QB situation it was rather interesting. JC threw probably 2 short passes the whole time, while every other QB threw long passes a considerable amount of times. While the others were doing passing drills, he was lined up handing the ball off to the RB's. They gave each QB i think about 10-15 snaps during the simulations they did. Again, everyone but JC threw it as much as they handed it off. I think it will be ES watching it, but DD has a good shot at it too, not saying that JC doesn't, just didn't see him throw.

It didn't appear that any one guy was throwing with any particular group, they were mixing it up pretty well. This all, however, could be a big smoke screen.

Thanks for the report.

good report, ndgirl 09! i agree on AA and it got me thinking, will he be the kind of "home-run hitter" speed-wise we haven't had since watters and rocket? or am i forgetting someone? arnaz was pretty fast but i don't think as fast as AA. anybody have any thoughts on who i might be forgetting? maybe carlyle?
