LOOKS LIKE THE YANKS ARE JUST ABOUT WHERE THEY WANT TO BE , WILD CARD IS AVAIL AND THE STILL GOT TO PLAY THE RED SOX, WHO KNOWS WE MAY HAVE A YANKEE COMEBACK AFTER ALL. OF COURSE THE SOX , SAY THE YANKS ARE PLAYING THE HAS BEENS. . what CAN I SAY , HOPE ITS A GOOD SERIES. :)

First let me just say i hate the yankees with a passion. but i respect them.

not being a realist, i dont think the yankees have enough to get into the playoffs. i dont think the hitting is consistent enough to put up runs against good teams like the sox, tigers, indians, angels etc.

plus they having pitching issues and just think that they will fall short of going to the playoffs

4 AL teams in playoffs:

Boston

Detroit

Anaheim

Cleveland

Mariners fall just short as well.

The problem with 'hating', is that we tend to place emotion before logic. The New York Yankees are not in the thick of it for the wild card. Reason being that that distinction will go to the BoSox soon enough. AL East pennant winners do not qualify for the wild card.

As for not having enough to get them over the top...the young guns will prevail. There will more than enough pitching once the roster has been expanded.

But hey...thanks for the early morning humor...I have a smile on my face thinking about the 14.5 game lead the BoSox have squandered...

now the pitching i can agree with, but the Yankees have the hottest bats in the AL...hotter then #4 or #5 bosox. the bosox have #1 pitching yanks have #1 hitting...as a yankee fan ill say itll get interesting. very interesting

it always comes down to pitching

True, it does. Which brings up this little question...did you catch Phil Hughes? We will over take the Red Sox.

1978 will all but be an old memory...the new one will be when the Red Sox lose the pennant...after being spotted 14.5 game lead...with the Yankees lack of pitching.

It's all good for the Yankee's...real good for us Yankee fan's!

*NOTE...anyone catch that Yankees 6, Cleveland 1 score. Pretty good for not being able to hit.

Maybe we should exclude the Indians from the above mentioned group? I mean, an 11 to 2 win over the Indians...?

Yeah, a play-off with the Sox would be good for baseball. If your a real fan...there should be no fear. To be the best, you've got to beat the best. As for Manny...the BoSox over fed that monster. He is after all their creation. Or how does it go in Boston...'He's just being Manny'.
