I'm hearing great things about Kamara from sources on campus. Could be in the top 3 WR's pretty early as long as he picks up the reads fast enough.

And you know he's not adverse to blocking cause his high school ran a wing T i think

btw, nice work subway.

i think duval kamara will probbly get the most playing time of all the freshman. on defense i hope that kerry neal can step in at OLB. i'll also be very interested to see how robert hughes comes along, i've heard nothing be good things about him.

Just from watching the videos Kamara looks ready to play. We need a big physical receiver and he's got some pretty good ups if memory serves me correct. He would definately be a great red zome weapon. Hate to make the comparison but he looks very similar to Jarrett from SC.

Kumara looks huge for a Wideout. I could see him having a huge year this year.

I also think Kumara may have himself a nice season from the things ive heard all sounds awesome!

don't forget about steve paskorz either. i was watching film of practice and this kid is already physicaly impressive. with his size, athletic ability and toughness he could see a lot of playing time but most likely on special teams.

You must read BlueandGold.com Russ

" Steve Paskorz should go along way toward providing immediate relief to those positions. Paskorz in particular could be a player that exceeds expectations, as he's already a very impressive physical specimen. But he's also very mature with the way he approaches the practices...at least the drills the media can observe in the first twenty minutes. He goes about his business like he's an upperclassmen and it would not be surprising to see him make an impact early in his career, perhaps on special teams."

nice post and i think the truth is except for possibly the qb position, the frosh will make the biggest impact on special teams this season. we all, me included, tend to get excited about frosh coming in a making a big impact but even future AA's usually play sparingly as frosh...

so, having said all that i think duval and AA on O and most likely neal and paskorz on D, will see the most non-special teams time and have the biggest impact.

but who knows, CW sure ain't afraid to play a frosh if he thinks it's his best chance to win, so maybe we get more on the field this year than i think?

Special teams will be where it's at for many of the freshmen, even if they look great in practice. However, I'm excited to see Harrison Smith blow someone up in kick coverage. I think the speed/strength recruited over the past couple years could bring a lot to our kick return/coverage game.

Gotta agree with you on that one man. Harrison will be a monster on special teams this year. That's right, I said he will be a monster! I think there's three perfect places for him on special teams: the kickoff coverage unit, the punt coverage unit, and the punt return unit. If he can use his speed on the coverage units and make some plays, I think he will be a great gunner on the punt coverage unit and a great kickoff coverage guy. On the punt return unit, I think he could replace Chase Anastasio's role. Anastasio was unbelievable when it came to blocking punts and coming very, very close to blocking them. I don't know why I think Smith will be the next great punt blocker on the team, it's just he is very similar to Chase I guess haha. He is 6'2" as was Chase. He wore #22 in high school and Chase wore #23. Okay those are ridiculous, lol. But anyway I think he will be the perfect guy to put in there to block punts by using his 4.38 speed and his quickness. I hope I'm right about Harrison!

He does look massive, future star

I saw a little of practice today (live, not on clips) and Kamara made some very nice catches in WR/DB one-on-one drills. I didn't see him drop a pass. AA looked very good as well; he gets through the hole and downfield very quickly.

im beginning to think Brian Smith might be one of the first of the freshman LB's to see significant action, maybe before Neal. he was a last second guy when we switched schemes and that kind of killed his "recruiting momentum"

but during his visits to campus he sat in on meetings with corwin and "passed pop quizzes" about responsibilities at his position and he looks as athletic as Neal.

upon watching his HS video again he's an excitable player on D. I like seeing guys who get rowdy. He's my sleeper pick for the frosh.

Can someone tell me why I see #4 who I think is Gary Gray practice with the defensive backs. I saw him on a couple videos. I thought he was out for the year thanks in advance for the info.

Go Irish

Yeah I see him in most of the videos too... I thought he was gonna be out for the season...
