Hi All,

 

My wife and I went on a trip to visit some friends in the Bend this weekend and we had planned on making a couple of trips to the campus to see the sites and get some pictures. We went to the bookstore yesterday and I got my Jimmy Clausen jersey! Fast forward to today it being the last day of our trip I wanted to see the Gug! Were walking towards the Gug and who is sitting on a bench right outside? None other than Ianello himself. Me being the ever so coy individual I am start my conversation with him by saying how nice the building looks! I dont know what came over me but I threw my arms up in the air and straight asked him if we got Filer. He laughed and said " I guess you'll have to wait and find out later". He asked me how I knew he was on campus and I told him I heard it on DOMER DOMAIN.COM!!!! I introduced myself and he likewise and he also introduced himself to my wife. I congratulated him on an outstanding recruiting season so far and told him that they were doing a great job and he said "thank you, we are trying! As I was starting to walk away I told him it was a pleasure to have met him and he out of the blue tells me ......"As a matter of fact I am waiting for HIM right now!!!....... We laughed and as my wife and I are starting across the street I see a white chevy lumina pull into the parking lot and out steps you guessed it STEVE FILER with his mother! Ianello already over there to meet him exchanges a high five and a hug with him and a hug with his mom! As they begin to walk towards the Gug I snapped off a picture and another one as they were walking together inside the Gug! Filer is Irish!!!!!!!!!!! There is no doubt in my mind after what I saw today!!!!!!!!! I still cant take the smile off my face! I will post the pictures soon!!!!!!

Great story Tom. Are you going to post the pics when you get a chance? Also, what was your initial impression of Filer?

wow that is great news. Cant wait to see the official news of filer being irish!! Did you get a chance to go into the gug? You allowed to just wonder around or are parts restricted? I heard the building is amazing. Look fwd to the pics

Hey man that's awesome! My dad knows him from when he was at Arizona and I got to meet him on our trip to Chicago and ND in the summer of '05. He is a really nice guy, he took us inside the locker room and the stadium, and the gug, it was the best vacation ever!!!

When I was at teh Gug I had no problem entering the Gug but the half of the Gug that has the coaches offices is basically impossible to enter. But I was able to easily see the weight room at the Gug and the indoor practice field.

Of all the people on this board, you had to know the DND would fire off the Spaceballs reference, classic, probably been waiting a long time to use that one.

Okay, get an account for free at photobucket.com and upload the pictures from your computer there, and once you do that, copy the IMG code from the picture and paste that onto the message for the post, just repeat that for each picture.

We may be low techere at DD but ain't it fun running the races
