Maybe this is a little early guys, but I have a gut feeling we will be hearing some news on our man soon.

I hope we hear something soon.It would be nice.I believe his dad keeping everything quite is a good thing.

On rivals it shows that he is no longer committed to UN.And some talk on the rivals board that UM is out of it now also.

i think he'll announce by months end

I wouldn't get to worked up over this kid. The story going around is that he likes NU alot, but someone in his camp is pushing hard for ND. IMO, his heart isn't with ND and even if he committed to us, would be a prime candidate to d/c. We want kids who want to be Irish. Also heard that CB isn't putting too much effort into his recruitment for the reasons I just mentioned.

yeah, i noticed that also. this is a really good sign. we could be hearing something reasonably soon. the only thing holding up an announcement may be that he has to live in that community for a while. as russ surely knows, it could be a bit of a rough spring for him living in a sea of red..........

thats what worries me too. TR is a big husker fan and has said several times that going to NU and playing for the huskers is something he's always wanted to do. i agree that his heart is with NU but like you said someone must be pulling for ND pretty hard because if it was purely TR decision then he would be a husker.

But CT, that's our job

Interesting perspective, though. But if his heart isn't into ND, that's risking a lot to make another unofficial while committed to home state U. We saw that with Gary Gray that fans got all over him when he started to pull out from SCar. If it is true, I could see someone like his parents (and like my parents would) say "just go take another trip to make sure". But again, I think it is risking a lot and by him taking the extra trip tells me he isn't that sure about NU either.

Would CB be his recruiter anyways? Wouldn't Latina be recruiting him?

For the record, it isn't just "talk" on rivals of it being down to two.

If you'll look at his profile, his top 2 schools are Nebraska and Notre Dame. If you'll remember, they organize the favored schools in alphabetical order. So, it does make sense that Nebraska is listed ahead of Notre Dame; E comes before O.

Now, when I was in kindergarten, I learned that M comes before N. So, if Michigan isn't ahead of Nebraska... :D

ctsubalum, I do hear what you're saying. I've pondered the subject myself.

With regards to Corwin, I don't think Trevor's recruitment would be his job in the first place. They offered the kid September 1st, well before Corwin was hired on. Some other coach, most likely on offense (my guess is Ianello) formed a relationship with this kid from day 1 and carried it on for months, so I'd be shocked if they gave this kid's recruitment to another coach, particularly one on defense.

Yes, we've heard whispers about what's going on in his camp, but we also heard whispers that McCarthy was Buckeye bound via Buckeye fans. A lot of the "reporters" we're dealing with here are pretty biased NU fans - not saying they're the same people that raked Papa Robinson over the coals for "forcing" Trevor to go to South Bend, but they see the world through red colored glasses.

I'm not saying you're wrong, ctsubalum - you very well be on the money - but I haven't seen enough to say you're right either. Too little in the way of information, IMO. I could slap together a pretty decent case for a 17 year old being indecisive as the root of all this drama. But we'll just have to sit tight on this one.

I don't buy the talk about TR wanting NU and dad wanting ND. Most of the husker posters who claim that (inside info) will then drop a "CW is fat" blurb later in the thread. I tried to ask husker nation for some credible info, quotes from TR or dad, but they don't have it. It's all speculation.

Agreed, all speculation. If he was 100% commited to NU then this wouldnt have happened. I dont think I've read about a situation like this that didnt turn into a transfer of commitment, atleast not in recent memory. I do remember Mustain kid re-commiting to Ark but then look what happened, now he's on his way to USC. I think once the previous commitment is revoked or in the process that is a really really bad sign for the host team. I like our chances in this one, I'm almost considering this in an already won category. IMO Robinson is Irish before the month is over.

And, the only reason that Mustain re-committed to Ark was because ND had no room at the inn. I agree with you. I think that he is letting the smoke clear and he will be Irish by August.

....so, IF Trevor does come to ND...how would he stack up vs the other OL we have verbals for in this class? Better than Clelland?

He is one of the first offers we put out with Filer and Floyd... So the staff obviously felt that he was their best prospect to go after at that position...

Yea, he would be the best OL in this class, unless we get Patchan. The thing that impresses me so much about Robinson is he already looks like a college lineman and he has a great mean streak based off the film I've see.

I could even see him contributing right away. I don't think he would start right off the bat like Sam Young, but think he could be a solid second-string and get some decent playing time as a freshman.

---------Not nessasarily. He had the best So. year out of the our current offers, but you can't tell who's a good prospect till their Jr. year at least. I would Imagine Clelland was even smaller as a So. and couldn't tell about him then. So when people get all chippy about Sept. 1st offers, OBVIOUSLY they are the real deal if they made a big impact their So. year, but most great prospects don't appear and make a splash until their Jr. years so that doesn't make the So. better.

well these guys are gonna be seniors, so they're already past their junior year

I live in Omaha (stationed with military) right outside of Elkhorn. I don't know where the Husker fans are getting these rumors, but they are not true. This is all on TR, this is his choice. Now his father does prefer ND because of academics. His dad is the vice chancellor at university of nebraska at omaha. I don't know if this is not known nationaly, but nu's academics are, to be nice, not good. they let everyone in, it's pretty bad. also regarding the nu program. There are plenty of reasons not the go. The rabid husker fans are trying to force out the A.D. and many hate bill calahan. They can't get together enough money to make updates, etc. And the stadium atmosphere is greatly overrated. When I went it really was a bunch of elderly ticket holders screaming at you everytime you stood up to see a play. It is really not very fun.

------okay? you must've misunderstood me. They were Jr's when they got their offer on Sept. 1st of the 2006 season correct? So I don't know why you would bring up next season.

 That's the south endzone at ND to a "T".
