Guest bluester2000
Anyone have any first hand knowledge about this year's version of the game? I'll admit I'm completely addicted to this series, and it's the only sports game I buy every year no matter what. Sometimes I get Madden, sometimes I get a basketball or baseball game; but I always get this game for one reason - the Irish. Anyone have a take? Guest NDgirl09
i have heard the recruiting mode is way more in depth, but other than that not a clue. I hope to get either this one or '07 soon.

Guest bluester2000
2007 is good, but not great IMO. Honestly, I don't think 1 year is enough time in between release dates time to adequately improve a game. If you look at other genres of video games there's usually at least 1.5-2 years before a sequel is released. That's why for most sports game I'll alternate years, or wait even longer. However, like I said EA and the Irish have me hooked.

Haha you won't believe this but I even made JC, AA, GG, and some of the other freshmen and actually re-did the depth chart and stuff for this season. Yes, I'm very excited. tdnd81
Only problem is it takes FOREVER to do the recruiting! I finish a season then i have to mess around for a while to get a crazy amount of 5*"s can't complain but when you are done with a season arn't you guys just ready for the next season? I guess i just need some more patience !!!! It takes forever to load on the PS2

NCAA Football 08 was required, because EA sports botched all sports games in 07 for Xbox 360, but even so historically, sports games are released every year - particularly Madden. Most of the time, graphical improvements consume most of the area the game improves upon and rarely do large changes in the gameplay occur. The one thing I am looking forward to in 08 is the super sim. Where you can sim plays, quarters or series.
BlackIrish42
this thread is hilarious and only because i can "come out the closet" and admit i'm addicted too! and it's ALL because of ND! it's the ONLY game i ever play on PS and i buy the new versions as soon as they come out! hoping the passing game improves because i feel like there are wayyy too many "drops" in "heisman" mode... god, i'm such a geek... The Gold Helmets
I'm addicted also. For you 360 owners you can download the demo of this game in the 360 marketplace for free. The bad news... You have to play as Michigan or USC

irish21
I am addicted to this game as well. I have gotten it the day it came out for the last 5 years and Im getting on the 18th. The recruiting is only different on the PS3 and 360, I saw a video of it (God im a dork) and it was pretty sweet.

Guest IM4ND
NCAA & Madden are the only games I buy for PS2. You gotta buy both because you can export all your ND graduating player into Madden. My entire Packer roster consists of ND players imported from NCAA. It's the SCHIZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!
SDIrishFan
Man, no one has run out to the store and bought this yet today and come back to give us a report yet? That's just mean. Some of us have to put in their 7-5 day before they get to play it.
The Grease
I got it today. This has been one of my favorite games since my Sophomore year at ND. I have to say that I am dissapointed with this game - even to the point that I am thinking of returning it. It is SO similar to last year's that it makes no sense to get it. The recruiting is a bit better and more realistic (but takes forever), but the game (plays, action, etc.) are largely the same. Also, they give the ND players fictitious names. I give it a C (and I really wanted to like it - I did go out and get it today after all).
Guest domerdude
Went out and bought it today- like I always do. IMHO not that much difference from 07 other than a little better graphics. I am still however playing my old decreped x box. But I will have first hand knowledge of the 360 by the weekend. I spent roughly 1 hour inputing all the proper names and numbers. Kamara is my no 3 reciever in lineup after grimes and hord but is pretty good to play with after 2 games is no 2 in rec yardage. Zibby is amazing as usual and ran 2 picks back in my penn state game. munir prince is still listed as running back and is way better than AA however to keep it as realistic to real life I use him as a Kick returner and he took one to the house in my michigan game, which was awesome seeing number 25 destroy michigan yet again. Clausen is excellent for accuracy and power. DD is a good runner and is pretty darn good in an option attack. I will always recommend these games (exception being 06). So go out and buy it and see what you think.
SDIrishFan
well, i finally got it (as a b-day present) and i have to agree with grease as i am slightly disappointed with the game as a majority of it is the same as last year's. But, i still love it because, being a avid follower of ND recruiting, it is exciting to get the new blood in the game (even though they got a lot of the players wrong, even easy stuff). I think they have a lot more of the incoming freshmen this year than they did last year. I've only had the opportunity to play one game against GT. I use Clausen as the starter. He did fairly well, 300+ yards, 2 TD's, but he did have 3 picks (trying to force it of course, freshmen mistakes but what do you expect in his first college game, haha). You'll all be excited to know that Duval had 8 catches for 160 yards and 2 TD's. Zibby was a one-man wrecking crew as he had 279 punt return yards with three TD's, 9 tackles and 1 FF. Like others have said, it is largely the same as far as game play, graphics, plays, features, etc. but its really exciting to use the "new" team, especially since we graduated so many players.
