If he did de-commit from Nebraska, it would probably not be to open his recruitment back up. It would probably be to change his committment to Notre Dame. With Robinson, it's gonna be Nebraska or Notre Dame. I don't think any other school could jump us.

Yes, very true Rock, he's been to South Bend almost as many times as Floyd.

Perhaps Trev was the "surprise" after all...i think someone mentioned him back on the power hour thread as franks surprise...trev visited what 22 times to ND before committing to Nebraska?

i still say the surprise is Will Hill. :D

trev best make up his mind if he is really wavering b/c i dont want him at the expense of a a Forst or a Page and definitely niot at the epense of PATCHAN.

so NCinNC, is that just your general opinion on Robinson or the consensus? Is Robinson a notch below Forst/Page and Patchan? I thought the staff was really high on Trevor first and then kinda went to plan B guys Forst and Page (altho both very good players apparently), while Patchan kinda is that "homerun" guy. Not real sure tho, some insight would be great.

I think u can throw Trev on the same page as Patchan, although Trev is a guard and Patchan a tackle. I believe Robinson got his offer on Sept 1st.

Robinson is a beast

Robinson is an OG, Forst is an OT. Might not affect eachother, although I don't like our chances with Forst anyway. It would affect Page, though, as he is an OG.

Robinson picking NU shocked me, as he visited ND 5 times, at least 4 on his own dime. He's even been photographed wearing ND garb many times.

I realize what positions they play ... I just meant in terms of total number of OLs in this class.

I would have to say that if Robinson flips, the OL recruiting is done. I think that we are only going to take one more, at the most, so the next one to commit is more thatn likely it.

I UM a new player in this or has he always liked them too? Could we see a new commit by the end of the weekend? Are we worried about the skunkbears?

Thanks Rockne! Oh boy... I'm like a kid in a candy store. Losing him was the biggest sting I've felt this recruiting cycle... man would it be nice. I'll keep day dreaming.

I thought his final two was Nebraska and ND. I guess I'll go digging in old threads to refresh our memories...

Robinson is very much an elite OL prospect in ND's eyes. He was one of the September offers last fall, so the staff definitely liked him. He'd get picked over any one of the OL offers out there, IMO. Maybe they hold the door open long enough to shout at Patchan, "Light a fire under it, or you're getting left behind", but Robinson would pretty much end the discussion about bringing in more OL, in all likelihood.

One of the comments coming from Trevor Robinson's announcement for Nebraska that stuck with me was that he wanted to pick a school he thought had a real shot at a national championship. And it was a repeat theme in his interviews - he wants to go to a school that he feels will have the talent throughout the team to be a national champion, not just a "good" school.

With the way Notre Dame has recruited, I wouldn't be surprised if that played a large role in this situation. This is the kind of class that can be the lynch pin for a national title run. Notre Dame has elite prospects, they're deep at all their positions, and they have great players across the board. In the mean time, they're still very much in on some other elite guys that have yet to decide. Combine that with the way this class has been filling up so fast, and it makes sense that we'd hear this out of Robinson's camp now.

In this particular situation, I dont think it'll hurt that CW isnt in town. Like its been said before, Robinson has been to South Bend plenty of times of his own dime, so I'm pretty sure he already knows whats there for him. This extra visit just may very well be to switch his commitment, I sure hope so !!!
