rdrdreamer
I like the article too. Sounds like we are being given a bit more than a chance? Would be nice. Thanks for the post.
Soko
He's my favourite receiver, including Floyd. He would be a great get
Katzenboyer
The fact that Butler and Slaughter both talk regularly, and that Jamoris has said he's going to do his best to get Butler to ND, helps a lot, too. Getting Floyd has been a big topic of discussion, but I think this guy will be the better college wide receiver.

Guest ctsubalum
I think that they are both equally important, along with Goodman, and here's why....Floyd is a bull, he will make those tough catches and give the Irish a physicall presence on the outside. Butler is more of a speed/athletic type of receiver. He will give us the homerun guy that has been missing for a while. It has been said that he will come down with most jump balls because he's a leaper. That gives us an edge with a youngish QB because they tend to throw alot of 50-50 balls. Goodman gives us that tall receiver who can go accross the middle or on a fade to the corner of the end zone and be almost unstoppable at that height. These 3 would be a perfect complement to each other and create an almost perfect class of receivers. They would really cover all the bases. If you could do that every 2 to 3 years, you'd really set your self up for long term success. Add Duval and some of the guys on the squad right now, and ND will have one heck of a balanced rotation for 2008.

Guest The Army Awakens
This class has a pulse of a crack feen... Life of its own... Heard that Hunter is on him as well... And Etienne Sabino and TJ Bryant (Bryant is not set in stone just yet) but Sabino is visiting July 27th... One question rivals has will hill off our lists but on the scout interview it said ND was part of his eight... Can someone please verify this? And what was with Arthur Brown promising to visit to CB... Is he still going to visit... He wants to come to the SC game... I really can't imagine how many recruits will be at this game 2008 and 2009 included... Wake up the Echoes!
Guest AtlantaIrish
It looks like it will come down to Notre Dame, FSU, and USC for Butler's services. I still have my doubts he will chose the Irish because he seems to be really high on both FSU and USC, but I love the fact that Slaughter is constantly in his ear telling him he could start right away at ND. It's an uphill battle, but the Irish have gotten both Slaughter and Hunter out of GA already so there is hope. My fingers are crossed because I think Butler is a WR who could step in right away and play. If he wants to come in and play right away with an offense that features the WR position I think ND has to be up there with USC. If Charlie gets his commitment I think it would be his most impressive so far considering where Butler is from and the fact he is an elite skill position player. IrishKnight1023
If yet another WR doesn't want to play in a "Pass happy" offense I'll be dumbfounded. The two best QBs in back to back classes, massive OL, great recruiting. I still think he ends up elsewhere either USC or FSU.

Guest AtlantaIrish
From today's Atlanta Journal. Dogs still in the hunt for Butler; Okakpu likes UNC By Jeff Hood The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 07/01/07 7:39 PM Latest news More Football recruiting... Norcross wide receiver Brice Butler said Sunday evening the recent rumors that had him dropping Georgia from consideration are unfounded. “I like Georgia,†Butler said. “They have a good program. I know the coaches there real well. In fact, I see them a lot. “They’re racking up a pretty good class. I’d be part of a good team if I commit to them.†Butler, who is rated as the sixth-best wide receiver in the nation by Scout.com, also denied reports that had him narrowing his recruiting list to three programs. He confirmed that Florida State, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Arizona State, Penn State, Georgia, Oregon, Oregon State, Florida and LSU are still in the running to gain his commitment. “I’m putting together my top-five,†Butler said. “It will be ready in about a week or two.†The 6-foot-2, 189-pound Butler said he is working to develop a clear understanding of the abilities of the receiving corps at each school he is considering. “I don’t look at the depth chart,†said Butler, the son of former Atlanta Falcon Bobby Butler. “But when I visit schools I want to see what kind of guys are there and if I can play with those guys. “Now, I don’t want to go to a school with eight sophomore receivers. Wherever I go, I want to go in there and start my freshman year. But I know I’ll have to work hard.†
Guest The_Dude_454
For some reason Scout does not have Notre Dame listed as one of Butler's favorites. Anyone know why? Did I miss something recently?
Guest NDLawJAG
Not uncommon with Scout... I think our best shot might be for him to chose FSU and we can hope FSU offense is terrible again. Then perhaps he will reconsider.

Also pay no attention to Scout as far as they're concerned we're not in the running for Patchan, Sabino, Butler, and oh did I mention how we weren't even a school of interest until Omar Hunter committed to us?
